阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
As a growing number of states in the US are banning (禁止) phones in schools, a new report has graded each state on how strict its policy (政策) is.
North Dakota and Rhode Island received the top grade “A” for requiring students to keep phones turned off and out of sight all day long. This is called a “bell-to-bell” policy while fourteen states received an “F” or “Zero” for having no policy or failing to pass a bill.
Lina Nealon from the Institute for Families and Technology believes these rules are necessary. “This is now a public health problem. We do not let schools decide case by case what their smoking policies are going to be. This problem is at that level,” she said.
A 2025 Pew survey found that nearly 75% of US adults support banning phones during class, and support for all-day bans is growing. However, some parents worry they won’t be able to reach their children during emergencies. Schools are working on solutions, like keeping the front office ready to pass along urgent (紧急的) messages.
The table below shows how states are graded.

A 14-year-old girl from Zhangjiajie, Zhang Yixin, has turned her summer holiday into a unique English-speaking practice by approaching (接近) foreign tourists at the Tianmen Mountain scenic area. Armed with a notebook and a pen, she invites visitors to write messages about their impressions of China.
“I used to think English was just for exams — memorizing words and texts,” Zhang said. “Now I see it as a tool to connect with people from different places.” Her practice shows a growing trend (趋势) among Chinese students who look for real-world language practice as international tourism grows. According to travel records, Zhangjiajie stood 7th among China’s inbound (入境的) tourism destinations in the summer of 2026, a great jump from 13th place last year.
Zhang’s “homework” began with a nervous try on a high-speed train. After repeated practice, she now confidently approaches foreign visitors. If they are in a hurry, she politely says “Have a nice day”; if they are willing to chat, she may talk for over ten minutes, sometimes even acting as a mini tour guide, recommending attractions like Wulingyuan and advising on the best visiting times.
Her notebook has become a collection of cross-cultural interactions. A visitor from Sweden wrote, “I love China because it is such a great place on earth.” A Russian tourist noted, “The mountains of Zhangjiajie are so beautiful; they are waiting for sunset, just as they are waiting for me.” Zhang said these messages encourage her to continue. “Every page is a special summer memory,” she added. “When this book is full, I’ll start a second one, and a third.”
24. Why does the writer mention the travel numbers about Zhangjiajie?
A. To suggest that it is less popular.
B. To compare it with other places.
C. To show the rising chances to practice English.
D. To explain why foreigners like Zhang’s notebook.
25. How did Zhang Yixin feel when she first approached foreign tourists?
A. Confident. B. Impatient. C. Relaxed. D. Uneasy.
26. What do we know about Zhang Yixin from the last paragraph?
A. She will continue her practice. B. She wants to be a tour guide.
C. She is learning to be a writer. D. She has prepared several books.
27. What message does this text express?
A. Knowledge is power. B. Many hands make light work.
C. Failure is the mother of success. D. Learning by doing is the best way.

It seems like everyone is a little stressed out these days — even children in their “carefree” teen years. In fact, the changes that teenagers go through during that time of their life make them especially sensitive to stress.
Adolescence (青春期) is one of the most stressful periods of change in life. Adolescents are having rapid physical changes while trying to make out who they are, manage changes in social life with family and friends, and deal with increasing study pressure. With so much happening at once, stress can build quickly from different causes. At the same time, their brains are still developing, especially in areas that help control feelings. This makes everyday challenges feel more stressful.
A recent study done by Arizona State University researchers found simple everyday habits, such as taking part in sports and getting quality sleep, can greatly reduce stress and support teenagers’ well-being. Different from one-time traditional surveys, the research used a 30-day diary method to record adolescents’ daily changes in feelings, following the real-time connection between stress, sleep and sports participation (参与).
The study shows sleep plays two key roles in reducing stress. Quality sleep ahead of stress acts as preparation, making teens mentally (精神上) calm and focused enough to face daily challenges. Sleep after a stressful day helps them restore mental balance and avoid negative feelings influencing the next day.
When it comes to sports, the good lies in positive experiences rather than winning or performance. Positive sports experiences help teenagers build confidence, develop a sense of achievement and strengthen social connections.
Researchers remind parents and teachers that teenage stress comes and goes every day. A teenager who generally seems fine may suffer from heavy stress on a certain day. Therefore, adults should pay attention to teenagers’ daily mental changes and encourage them to keep small, healthy daily habits.
28. Why are teenagers more likely to feel stressed?
A. They are taking on more duties. B. They are too focused on their looks.
C. They are experiencing many changes. D. They are unprepared for social competition.
29. What is the advantage of the 30-day diary method over traditional surveys?
A. It needs fewer researchers. B. It records daily feelings.
C. It costs much less money. D. It lasts for a shorter time.
30. Why does playing sports benefit teenagers?
A. It builds confidence and social ties. B. It replaces the need for more sleep.
C. It gives them chances of winning. D. It removes all daily study pressure.
31. What does the text focus on?
A. How to help teenagers reduce daily stress.
B. What to expect from students in high school.
C. A new study on adolescent brain development.
D. The importance of parents’ care for teenagers.
D
Nowadays online shopping becomes very common for teenagers. Many high school students buy pens and pencils, small gifts and clothes through online shops. Some teenagers even follow product recommendations from social media (媒体) before placing orders. Online shopping brings convenience, but it also carries hidden risks for teenagers who are still developing their consumption habits.
On the one hand, online shopping saves your time. You do not need to walk from shop to shop in crowded shopping streets. You can compare different products and prices comfortably at home. You can find special goods you cannot buy in local real-world shops. Some online goods are sold at lower prices, which is quite attractive for teens with little pocket money. Besides, online stores serve customers around the clock, so young people can shop whenever they are free from schoolwork.
On the other hand, teenagers are still learning to manage pocket money. Some teenagers spend lots of money buying things they do not truly need, just because online advertisements look attractive. Sometimes goods you receive look quite different from the pictures online. Returning goods will take you extra time and energy. Worse still, some risky online websites may leak (泄露) teenagers’ personal information if they are not careful enough.
So teenagers should develop reasonable shopping habits. Before you place an order, ask yourself: “Do I really need this?” Think twice before paying. Learn to tell real information from misleading advertisements. If you can control yourself well, online shopping will become a helpful tool instead of trouble in your daily life.
32. What does the underlined word “consumption” in paragraph 1 probably mean?
A. The act of selling things online. B. The act of making new products.
C. The act of buying and using goods. D. The act of saving money for future use.
33. What risk may online shopping bring to teenagers according to the text?
A. The unfinished homework. B. The information disclosure.
C. The lower learning interest. D. The pocket money being stolen.
34. What may the writer agree with?
A. Keeping away from online shopping.
B. Buying as many low-cost goods as possible.
C. Making careful consideration before action.
D. Choosing goods after watching advertisements.
35. What is the writer’s main purpose in writing the text?
A. To warn parents against social media.
B. To show the benefits of physical stores.
C. To explain why online shopping is popular.
D. To advise teenagers to shop online wisely.

How Gen Z Chooses to Give Back
When we think of volunteering, we often picture organized activities like picking up litter or running food drives. 36 Instead of formal, scheduled volunteer work, they prefer small, everyday acts of kindness.
The survey, done by The Allstate Foundation and Gallup, found that about 8 in 10 young people aged 12 to 25 have taken part in some form of community service. However, their service often looks quite different from traditional volunteering. 37 About 7 in 10 said they had helped someone with a task at least “a few times” in the past week — whether that meant carrying something for a neighbor or helping a classmate with homework. The Allstate Foundation sees this as a sign that young people view service not as a special activity, but as a natural part of daily life.
38 About half said they donate or organize donations for food, clothing, or other objects. Unlike many formal volunteer opportunities that require transportation or complex (复杂的) scheduling, donation drives can be started quickly, often through social media.
Interestingly, only about 1 in 10 young volunteers said all their service activities were required by schools or clubs. About half said some were required, while 4 in 10 said none of them was mandatory (强制的). 39
Greg Weatherford II, an American writer and public speaker, said that all forms of service matter. 40 “What is of the same importance is the young person that’s taking time to write a letter to a classmate who may just be needing some extra encouragement,” he said.
A. The most popular form of service among young people is giving.
B. Many young people feel they don’t have time for formal volunteering.
C. Most young people prefer to volunteer through schools rather than on their own.
D. It seems that young volunteers are choosing service that fits easily into their life.
E. But a new survey suggests young people today have a different idea about service.
F. This suggests most young people serve because they want to, not because they have to.
G. He said we should praise young people doing great good, and those doing simple things.

Small acts of kindness can really make a big difference. A stranger’s simple help can warm your whole day. This is what I learned from my real experience.
Last Sunday morning, I planned to go shopping downtown to buy a birthday gift for my best friend. I counted my pocket money carefully and set off happily. The weather was fine at first. I was bathed in the bright sunshine, and a light wind brushed my face. I enjoyed the pleasant walk, imagining my friend’s big smile when seeing the gift. However, when I was on my way to the shopping street, dark clouds gathered (聚集) all of a sudden and it began to rain heavily. I had left my umbrella at home. I had to stand outside a small shop, feeling helpless. Raindrops wetted my trousers, making me feel cold. Crowds of passers-by hurried past with umbrellas. I looked anxiously at the endless rainy street, wondering how I could get home without getting completely wet. My parents were both at work then and I could not get through to them. My best friend was living far away from here. Who could help me out then?
Just then, an old lady walked over. She noticed my awkward situation. She kindly shared her umbrella with me. She said she had just bought some daily goods and was going the same way. We walked and talked on the rainy street. Her gentle voice calmed my anxious heart. I felt so lucky to meet such a warm-hearted stranger on such a rainy day.

故填the。
60. colds 【解析】考查名词复数。cold意为“感冒”,在此处是名词词性,且是可数名词,“prepare some common medicine for colds or headaches”表示“准备一些用于感冒、头疼的常用药”。故填colds。
61. anxiety 【解析】考查词性转换。分析句子结构可知,and连接两个并列的名词。设空处应填anxious的名词形式。故填anxiety。
62. to 【解析】考查介词。固定搭配“turn to sb. for help”表示“向某人求助”。故填to。
63. what 【解析】考查宾语从句。分析句子结构可知,设空处引导宾语从句作remember的宾语,因此需要填入能充当宾语的连接代词what,表示“应该做什么”。故填what。
64. better 【解析】考查形容词比较级。much用来修饰形容词/副词比较级,表示“……得多”;good的比较级是better。故填better。

第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节 应用文写作(满分15分)
One possible version:
Dear Paul,
How is everything going? I’m writing to ask for your advice.
This is my first time living at a boarding school. Unluckily, my two closest roommates have argued a lot because of different living habits. One keeps everything tidy while the other cares little about keeping things clean. Now they avoid talking to each other, which puts me in an awkward position. I feel really upset and don’t know what to do to fix their relationship.
Would you please offer me some practical suggestions on how to help them get along well again? I’d be thankful if you could give me some advice.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
One possible version:
Soon we arrived near the gate of the shopping street. I thanked the old lady repeatedly for her timely kindness, deeply moved by her help. To my great surprise, she refused to take her umbrella back. She explained that her home was just around the corner and she could rush home quickly in the rain. Before I could talk her into taking it back, she turned around and hurried away into the heavy rain. Holding the warm umbrella in my hands, I was frozen to the spot, deeply touched by the selfless warmth from a total stranger.
The next day, I went back to the street with the umbrella, hoping to return it. I walked up and down the street, hoping to find the kind-hearted old lady so I could return her umbrella. Unluckily, I failed to find her among the crowds. An idea flashed across my mind. Instead of keeping the umbrella, I should pass the kindness on. Later that weekend, when I found a schoolboy caught in sudden rain without an umbrella, I handed the umbrella over to him. I believed small acts of kindness would keep spreading from one person to another, lighting up more people’s days.

M: Have you decided where we’re going for summer vacation? A mountain village or a historic old city?
W: Not this time. Let’s go for that small coastal town. Its sea view is amazing. Our little Lucy is longing for the sunrise over the sea.
M: Great idea. I would not take the bus. Shall we book high-speed train tickets?
W: We can drive our own car there. It will be convenient for moving around.
M: Good choice. I find the local food there is delicious and hot.
W: But the summer weather there changes very quickly. Sudden heavy rain often falls.
M: That is exactly what I worry about. We’d better prepare some light clothes and raincoats.
W: Right. Besides, lots of tourists will arrive there then.
M: Don’t worry. I will book the hotel rooms now.
Text 10
W: Good afternoon, everyone. I’m Lisa, an environmental volunteer instructor invited by our school’s green club. Our new school green project starts next Monday, and all students are welcome to join the volunteer groups. Today I’ll talk about small green moves we can keep every day on campus. First, cut down on wasted electricity. Remember to turn off all desk lamps when you leave classrooms. This simple move can save lots of electricity each term. Second, bring reusable water bottles instead of buying single-use plastic bottles every day. Dealing with waste is our third daily task. Every month, the school checks each class’s green performance. The top three classes get free potted green plants to make their classrooms beautiful. Many of us think waste is a big social problem far away from teenagers, but our small daily choices together make huge differences. I hope all of you can take action from today.
