初 三 年级上 (英语)教学案 备课时间: 使用者 Unit 6 Looking into science Lesson 1: Let's do an experiment! 主备教师 卢学林 参与教师 九年级全体英语教师 缺课学生 审核人 卢学林 课 时 授课时间 核心 素养目标 Key Competencies Objectives 1. Language competence:Understand the scientific concept of air pressure and its role in everyday phenomena. 2. Cultural awareness:Master key science vocabulary to describe scientific processes accurately.. 3.Thinking quality:Explain the experiment's procedure and its scientific principle clearly in simple English. 4.Learning ability:Apply the new vocabulary in real contexts through roleplay and short oral presentations.Develop curiosity about science and the ability to discover invisible forces in daily life. 教学重难点 Key and Difficult Points Key Points:Words: jar, cardboard, upside, shall, raincoat, tightly, conclude, experiment, pressure, force, pour Phrases: do an experiment, turnupside down, takeoff, pour out, pourinto, force sb. to do sth., make/draw a conclusion, come to a conclusion, in conclusion Sentences: Shall we do the experiment and find out? / The force of the air keeps the water in the jar. / I conclude that air is stronger than I thought. Difficult Points:1. Explaining the scientific principle of air pressure in English.2. Retelling the experiment procedures in the correct order using sequence words.3. Using shall correctly for suggestions (Shall we?) and offers (Shall I?). 教学准备Preparation textbook, exercise book, notebook, recorder, ppt 教学过程 Teaching Process 注重构建“情景导入—任务驱动—问题引领—教师主导—学生主体—思政渗透”的“和美课堂”范式 教学环节Teaching Segments 集体备课设计 Collaborative Lesson Planning Design 教学评一体化 个人备课设计 Individual Lesson Planning Design 情景导入 Situational Lead-in Step 1: Lead-in 1. Greet the students. 2. Question: Ask students: "If you cover a full jar of water with a piece of cardboard and then hold it upside down, what will happen? Will the water pour out or stay in the jar? Talk with your partner." 3. Let students predict and share their ideas in pairs, then invite a few to share with the class. 活动设计 Activity Design Step 2: While-listening . 1. First Listening (Answer Questions): Play the conversation. Ask students to listen and answer: A: "What keeps the water in the jar?" (The force of the air / The air pressure.) B: "Why does Danny put on his raincoat?" (Because he thinks the water will pour out and he will get wet.) C: "What does Danny conclude?" (He concludes that air is stronger than he thought.) 2. Second Listening (Sequencing): Play the experiment description. Ask students to put the sentences in the correct order: 1. Fill the glass jar with water. 2. Put a piece of cardboard over the jar. 3. Turn the glass jar over quickly. Hold your hand on the cardboard for a few seconds. 4. Remove your hand from underneath the jar. What happens? 5. The jar of water is upside down, but the water stays in the jar. This is because air pressure pushes the cardboard onto the jar. 6. There is more air pressure outside the jar than inside it. 3. Third Listening (Retelling): Have students retell the procedures using the pictures on the PPT: Fill the jar with water. Cover the top with a piece of cardboard. Turn the jar upside down and hold it there. Take the hand off the cardboard. The air pressure helps the cardboard hold the water in the jar. 4. Check Answers: Discuss the answers as a class. Step 3: Language Points 1. Explanation: Use the PPT to explain the key language points with clear examples: experiment (n. & v.): do/make/carry out an experiment; experiment on/with sth. Example: It's wrong to experiment on/with the animals. turnupside down (= turn over): 把……翻转;倒过来 upside down (正面朝下) vs. right side up (正面朝上) takeoff: 把……从……拿开 Related phrases: take off (摘下;脱下;起飞), take up (开始从事;占据), take down (记下), take out (取出), take care (小心), take care of (照顾), take place (发生), take part in (参加), take turns (轮流) pour out: 涌出;倒出; pourinto: 把……倒进…… Example: The tea poured out. / Pour the milk into the bottle. shall (aux.): 将要 ① Shall we? 我们……好吗?(提建议,征求对方意见 — only Shall we, not Shall you) ② Shall I? 我要……吗?(主动提出帮忙) ③ 正式承诺、规定: You shall follow the rule. tightly (adv.): 紧紧地;牢固地; tight (adj.) Example: She closed the window tightly. force (n. & v.): 力;力量;迫使 force sb. to do sth.: 迫使某人做某事 Example: It's impolite to force others to do something unpleasant. conclude (v.): 总结,得出结论; conclusion (n.) Phrases: make/draw a conclusion, come to a conclusion, in conclusion Example: We can conclude that he is right. 2. Practice: Complete the fill in the blank exercise on the PPT (experiment, conclude, tight, upside down, Shall). Check answers together. Step 4: Post-reading & Role-play 1. Role-play: Students work in pairs to role-play the experiment. One student explains the procedure while the other performs the actions (or mimes them). 2. Group Discussion: Students work in groups to describe an experiment they have done. Use the example on the PPT: "I have done an egg floating experiment at home. First, I poured some water into a glass. I put an egg in it, and the egg sank to the bottom. Next, I added lots of salt into the water and stirred it well. Slowly, the egg began to rise and float in the middle of the glass. Salt makes the water denser. Denser water gives more upward force to hold the egg up. I found this experiment quite amazing." 3. Sharing: Invite a few groups to share their experiment descriptions with the class. Step 5: Summary & Homework 1. Summary: Review the key vocabulary and phrases. Summarize the key concept: Air Pressure: It's the invisible force created by the weight of the air all around us. This force pushes equally in all directions and is strong enough to counteract gravity! The Jar Trick: The air pressure pushing up on the cardboard from the outside of the jar was stronger than the weight of the water pulling down from the inside. It's like an invisible hand holding the card in place! Remember: Science is all about discovering the invisible forces that shape our world! 2. Homework: Task 1: Try the jar experiment at home with your parents! Remember to handle water and glass carefully to avoid spills or accidents. Task 2: Write a 50word paragraph describing your experiment. Include at least 3 new words to show what you've learned. 思政渗透与学科育人有机融合点Subject based Character Education This lesson cultivates students' scientific curiosity and spirit of exploration through a hands on experiment about air pressure. By predicting, observing, and concluding, students develop critical thinking and the ability to discover invisible forces in daily life. The lesson emphasizes that science is not just about memorizing facts but about asking questions, testing ideas, and drawing conclusions. The group discussion about experiments encourages cooperation, communication, and the sharing of scientific knowledge. The homework task of trying the experiment at home with parents promotes family involvement and the practical application of scientific concepts. This aligns with the goal of nurturing curious, innovative, and scientifically literate individuals who can explore and understand the world around them.. 板书设计 Blackboard Design 教学反思Teaching Reflection Unit 6 Lesson 1: Let's do an experiment!
