【答案】17. B 18. A 19. C 20. C
【原文】M: Last summer I went to Miami Beach, Florida, where I stayed for two weeks. My friend John and I flew to Miami from New York. It was the first time for both of us to travel by air. We sat near the window of the plane and enjoyed an unusual and beautiful view of the world. The reason why we went to Miami was that the cost was lower than other cities. We stayed at a hotel near the beach. We slept late every morning and then had breakfast outdoors near the pool. When the weather was not too hot, we went sightseeing in the morning. In the afternoon, we would go swimming in the ocean, lie in the sun, or go water-skiing. After dinner in the evening, we usually went dancing or enjoyed ourselves in the cinema. The two weeks went by too quickly. We were both unwilling to leave when we had to.

B
Recently, I saw several moms on the Internet criticizing (批评) parents who drive their kids to school. “It will spoil (宠坏) her,” one mom said. “She needs to be independent and catch the bus.” Many parents agree. After all, there are plenty of school buses filled with students in our small city.
But unlike those other parents, I choose to drive my daughter, and have been doing so since she started primary school. I wake up early to drive her, and every afternoon, I wait in the car line to pick her up.
I want to treasure this time with her while I can. These drives have become a special chance for us to connect. It’s a rare (罕见的) time when neither of us is doing anything else, and she is there just to listen to me.
On the 10-minute drive to our local high school, I point out the first pink light of sunrise to my less-than-enthusiastic (不太感兴趣的) daughter. “Look at it! It’s so pretty,” I say. If I’m lucky, she’ll enjoy it with me, but most days she is a typical ninth grader — quiet, busy with her own thoughts, and giving one-word answers.
To draw her out, I get creative with a new tradition. We soften Mondays and celebrate Fridays with an after-school stop at Starbucks for a mango drink or Dunkin’ for a strawberry treat. I ask questions in fun ways that let her share more. Sometimes I hear about a funny class moment, a problem in math, or a story from the gym. These drives are little moments of peace in her turbulent (躁动的) teenage life.
We have our fights, and she might not enjoy these rides now as much as I do. But maybe one day she will remember them sweetly. Meanwhile, I’ll keep driving my daughter and make these days meaningful for both of us.
24.What makes the author different from other parents?
A.The opinion on high schoolers using the Internet.
B.The experience of teaching in primary school.

D.The habit of driving her kid to school.
25.What does the author’s practice result in?
A.A messed-up work schedule.
B.A closer relationship with her daughter.
C.Her daughter’s greater enjoyment of learning.
D.Disagreements between her and her friends.
26.Which of the following can best describe the author?
A.Honest and quiet. B.Brave and curious. C.Caring and fun. D.Strict and serious.
27.What is the best title for the text?
A.The Road Between Us B.The Morning at School
C.A Fantastic Trip Through the City D.A Useful Suggestion for Parents of High Schoolers
【答案】24.D 25.B 26.C 27.A
根据文章第一段“Recently, I saw several moms on the Internet criticizing (批评) parents who drive their kids to school. (最近,我在网上看到几位妈妈批评开车送孩子上学的父母。)”以及第二段“But unlike those other parents, I choose to drive my daughter, and have been doing so since she started primary school. (但与其他父母不同,我选择开车送女儿上学,从她上小学开始就一直这样。)”可知,作者与其他父母的不同之处在于她坚持开车接送孩子的习惯。
25.推理判断题。根据文章第三段“These drives have become a special chance for us to connect. (这些车程成了我们建立联系的特别机会。)”以及第五段“I ask questions in fun ways that let her share more. (我用有趣的方式提问,让她多分享一些。)”可知,作者的做法促进了母女间的沟通,结果是与女儿的关系更亲密。
26.推理判断题。根据文章第三段“I want to treasure this time with her while I can. (我想趁现在还能这样,好好珍惜和她共度的时光。)”以及第五段“To draw her out, I get creative with a new tradition. (为了引导她开口,我创造了一个新传统)”以及“I ask questions in fun ways that let her share more. Sometimes I hear about a funny class moment, a problem in math, or a story from the gym. These drives are little moments of peace in her turbulent (躁动的) teenage life.(我用有趣的方式提问,让她多分享一些。
C
How do young children build their vocabulary? Even by age 1, children seem to think that a new word means something different from words they already know. But why they think so has remained a mystery for the last 40 years.
Many scholars have thought that young children have a strong tendency toward “mutual exclusivity” — treating each new word as corresponding to a new object. However, this concept has never been airtight: Words like “bat” refer to multiple kinds of objects, while any object can be described using countless words. For instance, a rabbit can be called not only a “rabbit” or a “bunny”, but also an “animal” or a “beauty”.
Now a new study offers a different insight. Researchers propose that children rely on “focus” signals — the way we emphasize certain words to signal contrast. Depending on what is focused on, the same sentence can have different implications. “Carlos gave Lewis a Ferrari” contrasts with other cars, while “Carlos gave Lewis a Ferrari” contrasts with other people.
The team ran three experiments with 106 children. The participants watched videos of a cartoon fox who asked them to point to different objects. The first experiment established how focus influences kids’ choice between two objects when they hear a label, like “toy”. After naming one object — “Look, I am pointing to the blicket,” the fox told the child, “Now you point to the toy!” One group heard “toy” without emphasis, while another heard it with emphasis. Without focus, only 24% thought the words were mutually exclusive. With focus, 89% thought “blicket” and “toy” referred to different objects. Two further experiments showed that focus also affects the interpretation of new words children had never encountered before, like “wug” or “dax”. With focus, more children thought the word meant a new object.
The experiment, the researchers note, is the result of interdisciplinary research bridging psychology and linguistics. The scholars acknowledge that more studies could reexamine prior studies about mutual exclusivity, study naturalistic interactions between parents and children to see how focus is used, and examine the issue in other languages, especially those marking focus in alternate ways, such as word order.
28.What does the underlined word “airtight” mean in paragraph 2?
A.Widely accepted. B.Heavily guarded.
C.Complex to understand. D.Perfect without faults.
29.Why does the author mention the two sentences about “Carlos”?
A.To show Carlos’s personal preference.
B.To prove that “Ferrari” is a difficult word.
C.To teach children how to pronounce words.
D.To explain how emphasis changes meaning.
30.Which picture did the children see when the fox said “Now you point to the toy”?
A. B.
C. D.
31.What will the follow-up studies primarily focus on?
A.Use of new research methods. B.Inclusion of qualified researchers.
C.Extension of the research coverage. D.Educational application of the finding.
【答案】28.D 29.D 30.A 31.C
根据第二段画线词“airtight”后面的“Words like “bat” refer to multiple kinds of objects, while any object can be described using countless words. For instance, a rabbit can be called not only a “rabbit” or a “bunny”, but also an “animal” or a “beauty”.(像‘bat’这类词可指代多种事物,而任何一个物体都可以用无数个词来描述;例如一只兔子不仅可以被叫作‘rabbit’或‘bunny’,还可以被称为‘animal’或‘beauty’。)”可知,冒号后的内容对前文提出的“每个新词对应一个新事物”的观点进行补充,指出该观点存在反例,并非完全严谨周密,由此推知,划线词含有“完美无缺、无懈可击”之意。
29.推理判断题。根据第三段中的“Depending on what is focused on, the same sentence can have different implications. “Carlos gave Lewis a Ferrari” contrasts with other cars, while “Carlos gave Lewis a Ferrari” contrasts with other people.(取决于关注的焦点,同一句话可以产生不同含义。‘卡洛斯送给刘易斯一辆法拉利’是和其他车型作对比,而‘卡洛斯送给刘易斯一辆法拉利’是和其他人物作对比。)”可知,作者列举这组句子是为了解释重读如何改变句子含义。
30.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“After naming one object — “Look, I am pointing to the blicket,” the fox told the child, “Now you point to the toy!”(在给其中一个物品命名之后——‘看,我正指着这个blicket,’狐狸对孩子说,‘现在你来指出玩具!’)”可知,实验中狐狸先给一个物品命名为blicket,再让孩子指出玩具,孩子看到的画面包含blicket和玩具两个物品。
31.推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“The scholars acknowledge that more studies could reexamine prior studies about mutual exclusivity, study naturalistic interactions between parents and children to see how focus is used, and examine the issue in other languages, especially those marking focus in alternate ways, such as word order.(学者们承认,可以开展更多研究来重新检验以往关于互斥性的相关研究,探究亲子间的自然互动场景中焦点信息是如何运用的,并在其他语言中考察该问题,尤其是那些通过语序等其他方式标记焦点的语言。)”可知,后续研究会从多个维度延伸现有研究的内容。由此推知,后续研究将主要聚焦于拓展研究覆盖范围。
D
A month-long UK study has offered a closer look at what happens when teenagers reduce social media use. The study came as families and schools were debating whether limits could improve sleep and concentration without cutting young people off from friends.
Researchers interviewed 309 families with teenagers aged 13 to 17 before and after the trial. Participants entered four groups: a control group made no change, while the other groups limited each app to 15 minutes a day, blocked social media from 9 pm to 7 am, or removed selected apps completely. The interviews explored sleep, mood, study time, family interaction and social connection.
The three restrictions produced different results. The night curfew was the easiest to follow and was most often linked with better sleep. Removing apps created the clearest improvement in focus after an uncomfortable first week, but it also caused the greatest sense of social disconnection. The 15-minute limit encouraged some teenagers to plan their online time, yet it was the least practical rule and was often avoided.
Across the groups, families reported calmer moods, more face-to-face time and better concentration. However, some teenagers moved to other devices or used apps more heavily before a cut-off. These responses show that a technical limit can change when people use social media without necessarily changing why they reach for it.
The researchers therefore warned against treating one rule as a complete solution. The study used a relatively small, self-selecting sample and depended mainly on what participants reported, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Its value lies instead in showing how restrictions work in everyday family life: limits are more likely to last when young people understand them, help shape them and have meaningful offline alternatives.
32.How did the researchers conduct the study?
A.By tracking teenagers' phones without their knowledge.
B.By comparing interviews before and after different restrictions.
C.By asking all participants to remove every social media app.
D.By testing the same restriction in four age groups.
33.What does paragraph 3 suggest about the three restrictions?
A.Each involved a different balance of benefits and costs.
B.The strictest rule was also the easiest to continue.
C.The daily limit produced the greatest improvement in focus.
D.The night curfew reduced teenagers' daytime use most.
34.Which restriction was the least practical for families to follow?
A.The 15-minute daily limit. B.The overnight curfew.
C.The complete removal of selected apps. D.The unchanged control condition.
35.What can be inferred about the study’s findings?
A.They fully explain why teenagers use social media.
B.They apply equally to all teenagers in the UK.
C.They prove that one restriction can solve every problem.
D.They offer useful clues but do not establish cause and effect.

根据原文第二段“Researchers interviewed 309 families with teenagers aged 13 to 17 before and after the trial.(研究人员在试验前后采访了309个有13至17岁青少年的家庭。)”及“Participants entered four groups: a control group made no change, while the other groups limited each app to 15 minutes a day, blocked social media from 9 pm to 7 am, or removed selected apps completely.(参与者被分为四组:对照组不作任何改动;其余几组分别采取这些措施:每个应用每日限时15分钟、晚9点至早7点屏蔽社交媒体,或是彻底卸载选定的应用。)”可知,研究人员通过对比实施不同限制措施前后的采访来开展这项研究。
33.推理判断题。根据原文第三段“The night curfew was the easiest to follow and was most often linked with better sleep. Removing apps created the clearest improvement in focus after an uncomfortable first week, but it also caused the greatest sense of social disconnection. The 15-minute limit encouraged some teenagers to plan their online time, yet it was the least practical rule and was often avoided.(夜间时段限制方案最容易遵守,也最常和睡眠改善相关联。卸载应用的方案,在难熬的第一周过后,对专注力的提升效果最明显,但它也造成最强烈的社交失联感。15分钟限时方案促使部分青少年规划上网时间,却是最不实用的规则,常常被规避。)”可知,每一项限制措施都各有利弊,收益与代价的权衡各不相同。
34.细节理解题。根据原文第三段“The 15-minute limit encouraged some teenagers to plan their online time, yet it was the least practical rule and was often avoided.(15分钟限时方案促使部分青少年规划上网时间,却是最不实用的规则,常常被规避。)”可知,每日15分钟使用限制是家庭最难执行的一项限制。
35.推理判断题。根据原文第五段“The study used a relatively small, self-selecting sample and depended mainly on what participants reported, so it cannot prove cause and effect.(这项研究使用了相对较小的自选样本,并且主要依靠参与者的自述,因此它无法证明因果关系。)”可知,该研究结果提供了有用线索,但不能确定因果关系。
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Social media is widely used in daily life, but it can also cause problems if people are not careful. Many users post or send things without thinking about the possible results. These actions may affect how others see them in the future. 36 Follow these simple strategies to stay away from future trouble.
Never post anything you would be ashamed for certain others to see. Think about what your family, friends, future employers or college admission decision-makers might think if they saw it. How would you feel if that statement or picture was forever tied to your name and your identity? 37 Remember, your keyboard may have a “delete (删除)” button, but once online it is often impossible to remove.
Start building a good online image early. Don’t wait until you apply for college or jobs. Every post you share should leave an nice and positive impression on others. Besides, actively involve yourself in meaningful activities: study well, do volunteer work, play sports and organize group events. 38
Never share your private information online. Bad people online always try to steal personal details just for money. 39 Even with privacy settings, others may still find secret ways to get your personal information.
40 Do not post others’ photos without their permission. If they ask you to delete related content, you should do it at once. Besides, never post or reply online when you are angry. Put down your device and calm down for hours or even days. Emotional replies will never solve problems but only make things much worse.
A.Does it really represent who you are?
B.Does it really matter what others think of you?
C.These activities will help you meet new friends.
D.Be thoughtful and respectful to other users online.
E.So it is important to learn to use social media wisely.

When I was 15, my family moved to a new city two weeks before the start of senior high. I had to say goodbye to all my old friends, and the thought of starting over in a place where I knew no one left me feeling 41 for the whole summer.
The first week of school was harder than I had 42 . I got lost three times on the way to different classrooms, I couldn’t follow the fast pace of most lessons, and worst of all, I sat 43 in the canteen every lunchtime, watching other students laugh and talk with people they had known for years. I kept 44 myself that I would get used to it, but each night when I got home, I wanted to cry.
One afternoon, our Chinese teacher announced a class poetry recitation (朗诵) activity. Everyone was asked to 45 a team of four and prepare a piece to perform the next week. I sat in my seat, not expecting anyone to ask me to join their team. Just as I was mentally preparing to tell the teacher I would do the task alone, a boy named Zhang Hao turned around, 46 me a note which read, “Our group needs one more person. Would you like to join us?”
I still remember the 47 of relief I felt at that moment. I nodded so quickly that I almost knocked over my water bottle. Our team decided to recite a poem about growing up and facing the future. When we 48 after school for the first practice, I was surprised to find that no one 49 my nervous accent or the fact that I remembered my lines wrong. Instead, they helped me mark the pauses in the poem, shared their own stories of feeling like an outsider, and told me I had a 50 voice for recitation.
On the day of the performance, my hands were shaking as I walked to the front of the class. But when I saw my teammates standing next to me, smiling and giving me a thumbs-up, I felt a wave of 51 flow through me. We finished our recitation without any mistakes, and the whole class clapped 52 . We didn’t win the first prize, but for me, it was the best 53 I had received since moving to the new city.
After that, I slowly started to open up. I started more conversations with my classmates, I asked teachers for help when I couldn’t understand lessons, and I even joined the school’s poetry club. Now, halfway through the first semester, I have a small group of close friends, and I no longer feel like a(n) 54 .
Looking back, I realize that the hardest part of a new beginning is the fear of not being accepted. But 55 , all you need is one small kind action from someone, and that can be enough to help you find your place.

Dorien is a Belgian girl who is energetic and always excited about learning new things. At the age of 18, she had mastered Greek and French, but she decided to study a new language.
Deeply fascinated by Chinese culture and curious about this mysterious land, she chose to take on the challenge of learning Chinese. Her decision shocked everyone. “It’s crazy!” her friends shouted. But nothing could stop Dorien from pursuing her dream of learning Chinese. She packed her bags for Chengdu, Sichuan province, and studied at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
However, reality hit hard. In class, Dorien found learning Chinese more challenging than studying Greek and French. The four tones (四声调) of Chinese made her completely confused. On the street, she struggled to string a sentence to ask for directions. During her first hotpot meal, her Chinese classmates enjoyed the chili (辣椒) happily, but she couldn’t stand the spiciness at all. Her face turned red, and she kept blowing her nose and drinking water.
However, challenges went beyond language and food. In social situations, Dorien often felt awkward. Her classmates often shared their snacks and personal belongings with her, and invited her to join almost every group activity. Although kind, this kind of closeness made her uneasy and even stressed out. She didn’t know how to accept it naturally or how to say no politely without offending anyone.
As days passed, a heavy feeling of self-doubt grew in her heart. One day, her Chinese teacher noticed her problem and encouraged her. “Don’t worry.” the teacher said gently, “Take your time. Try to embrace our culture with an open heart, and you’ll find beauty everywhere.” These simple words lifted her spirits.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150个左右;

【答案】范文
Gradually, Dorien began to appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture. She started trying spicy food with her classmates and even learned to order hotpot in Chinese. She also joined their study group activities and found it warm to be cared about. Her Chinese improved little by little, and she even began to tell jokes in class. When she shared her favorite snacks with others, she realized the closeness she once feared was just a way of showing kindness. She felt her heart filled with joy and confidence.
A year later, standing in front of her Belgian classmates, she began her speech in fluent Chinese. She talked about her life in Chengdu, the warm friends she made, and the delicious food she learned to love. She told them how the teacher’s words had changed her, and how she finally understood the beauty of being open to new cultures. When she finished, the room erupted in applause. Dorien smiled, knowing that this journey had not only taught her a new language, but also helped her grow into a more confident and open-minded person.

However, my father was not angry at all and took good care of me as if nothing had happened. He always calmed me down in his gentle way and encouraged me to leave it behind.
My father, like a shining star, shines on my way to success forever.

C.The act of criticizing the traffic in her city.

第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)

How do young children build their vocabulary?Even by age 1,children seem to think that a new word
means something different from words they already know. But why they think so has remained a mystery for the

last 40 years.
Many scholars have thought that young children have a strong tendency toward "mutual exclusivity"-

treating each new word as corresponding to a new object. However, this concept has never been airtight:Words

like"bat"'refer to multiple kinds of objects, while any object can be described using countless words. For instance,
a rabbit can be called not only a“rabbit'ora“bunny',but also an“animal'ora“beauty',

between two objects when they hear a label, like "toy".After naming one object-"Look,I am pointing to the
blicket,"the fox told the child,"Now you point to the toy!"One group heard "toy"without emphasis, while
another heard it with emphasis.Without focus, only 24%thought the words were mutually exclusive. With focus,
89%thought"blicket"and "toy"referred to different objects. Two further experiments showed that focus also
affects the interpretation of new words children had never encountered before, like"wug"'or"dax".With focus,
more children thought the word meant a new object.
The experiment, the researchers note,is the result of interdisciplinary research bridging psychology and
linguistics. The scholars acknowledge that more studies could reexamine prior studies about mutual exclusivity,
study naturalistic interactions between parents and children to see how focus is used, and examine the issue in
other languages, especially those marking focus in alternate ways, such as word order.
28.What does the underlined word"airtight"mean in paragraph 2?
A.Widely accepted.
B.Heavily guarded.
C.Complex to understand.
D.Perfect without faults.
29.Why does the author mention the two sentences about"Carlos"?
A.To show Carlos's personal preference.
B.To prove that "Ferrari"is a difficult word.
C.To teach children how to pronounce words.
D.To explain how emphasis changes meaning.
30.Which picture did the children see when the fox said 'Now you point to the toy"?

A month-long UK study has offered a closer look at what happens when teenagers reduce social media use.
The study came as families and schools were debating whether limits could improve sleep and concentration
without cutting young people off from friends.
Researchers interviewed 309 families with teenagers aged 13 to 17 before and after the trial.Participants
entered four groups:a control group made no change, while the other groups limited each app to 15 minutes a day,
blocked social media from 9 pm to 7 am,or removed selected apps completely. The interviews explored sleep,
mood, study time, family interaction and social connection.
The three restrictions produced different results. The night curfew was the easiest to follow and was most
often linked with better sleep.Removing apps created the clearest improvement in focus after an uncomfortable
first week, but it also caused the greatest sense of social disconnection. The 15-minute limit encouraged some
teenagers to plan their online time, yet it was the least practical rule and was often avoided.
Across the groups, families reported calmer moods, more face-to-face time and better concentration.
However, some teenagers moved to other devices or used apps more heavily before a cut-off.These responses
show that a technical limit can change when people use social media without necessarily changing why they reach
for it.
The researchers therefore warned against treating one rule as a complete solution. The study used a
relatively small,self-selecting sample and depended mainly on what participants reported,so it cannot prove cause
and effect. Its value lies instead in showing how restrictions work in every day family life:limits are more likely to
last when young people understand them, help shape them and have meaningful offline altematives.
32.How did the researchers conduct the study?
A.By tracking teenagers'phones without their knowledge.
B.By comparing interviews before and after different restrictions.
C.By asking all participants to remove every social media app.
D.By testing the same restriction in four age groups
33.What does paragraph 3 suggest about the three restrictions?
A.Each involved a different balance of benefits and costs.
B.The strictest rule was also the easiest to continue
C.The daily limit produced the greatest improvement in focus.
D.The night curfew reduced teenagers'daytime use most.
试题第7页(共12页)
34.Which restriction was the least practical for families to follow?
O
A.The 15-minute daily limit
B.The overnight curfew
C.The complete removal of selected apps.
D.The unchanged control condition.
35.What can be inferred about the study's findings?
A.They fully explain why teenagers use social media
B.They apply equally to all teenagers in the UK.
C.They prove that one restriction can solve every problem.
D.They offer useful clues but do not establish cause and effect.

C.Her daughter’s greater enjoyment of learning.
D.Disagreements between her and her friends.
26.Which of the following can best describe the author?
A.Honest and quiet. B.Brave and curious. C.Caring and fun. D.Strict and serious.

A.The Road Between Us B.The Morning at School
C.A Fantastic Trip Through the City D.A Useful Suggestion for Parents of High Schoolers

F.You can also write positive and creative articles online.
G.Never post your home address, birth date or phone number online.
