Jenny first got into motorsport (赛车运动) by watching her younger brother, Bill, drive his kart (卡丁赛车). Every time he took off his helmet (头盔) with a big smile, she became more fascinated. Soon after, she took the wheel herself.
She started out in karts, racing at state level and then nationally, and got good results early on. She got into the 2023 Ferrari training camp and was invited to enter a top Italian racing school. She then won Best New Driver in November 2024, and moved up to the Spanish F4 (一种入门级赛车比赛). In February 2025, she became a driver of the F1 Academy — races for women racers.
Racing needs a strong mind, not just fast driving. Starting karting at 9 taught her how hard the sport is on the mind and how discouraging and exciting it can be all at once. Now, Jenny talks with a coach every week and acts out situations she’s likely to face, which helps her stay calm under pressure and keep focused in races.
Since she travels a lot for racing, Jenny has to study online. And she misses her friends’ birthdays. Always being on the way means leaving behind her loved things like her home, her school and the people she grew up with.
As a woman driver, Jenny has faced doubts, but she believes love and performance speak loudest. She hopes to encourage more girls to go for their dreams. She enjoys the speed and excitement of driving. Her biggest dream is to become the first woman F1 driver in her country.
( ) 26. When did Jenny become interested in motorsport?
A. When she enjoyed a race on TV.
B. When she watched Bill drive his kart.
C. When she got a dream helmet.
D. When she attended a racing school.
( ) 27. What does Paragraph 2 focus on?
A. The history of the F1 Academy.
B. Jenny’s educational background.
C. The development of the Spanish F4.
D. Jenny’s big moments in motor racing.
( ) 28. How does Jenny keep her mind strong?
A. By playing sports every day.
B. By learning from other racers.
C. By working with a coach before races.
D. By competing with her brother.
( ) 29. What can be inferred from paragraph 4?
A. Jenny can balance her life well.
B. Jenny values her free time most.
C. Jenny makes great efforts for racing.
D. Jenny might travel a lot with her friends.
30. What would be the best title for the passage?
A. No Doubt, No Success B. Driven to Fly
C. The Younger, The Better D. Born to Coach

Hanyuan 2: The Room-Temperature Quantum Computer
① On May 8, 2026, Chinese scientists introduced a brand new type of computer called “Hanyuan 2”. It is the world’s first dual-core atomic (原子的) quantum computer (量子计算机). Unlike the computer you use at school or at home, which runs on silicon (硅) chips, Hanyuan 2 uses 200 rubidium (铷) atoms as its “brain” to perform calculations.
② What makes Hanyuan 2 so special is that it works steadily in a normal lab environment. Traditional quantum computers are extremely sensitive. They usually have to be kept colder than outer space which requires huge and expensive cooling systems. In fact, some of them are as large as a room because of all the cooling equipment.
③ Hanyuan 2, however, does not need any of that. It runs at room temperature and its total power consumption (消耗) is less than 7 kilowatts — about the same as two or three household air conditioners. But being easy to run does not mean it is weak. Hanyuan 2 is also highly accurate. Its single-bit gate fidelity (保真度) reaches 99.9%, a big improvement from its earlier version, Hanyuan 1, which had only 90% accuracy. Moreover, the atoms inside Hanyuan 2 can stay alive and stable for more than 100 seconds — much longer than before. This longer “lifetime” allows the computer to solve more complex problems.
④ Why should we care about a quantum computer that needs no fridge? Because this technology makes quantum computing more accessible (可接入的) and much cheaper to run. Scientists believe that Hanyuan 2 will speed up breakthroughs in many fields. For example, it could help design new life-saving drugs in weeks instead of years. It could also help crack codes that would take ordinary computers hundreds of years to break.
⑤ With Hanyuan 2, China is taking a big step toward making the quantum future a reality.
( ) 31. What do we know about Hanyuan 2?
A. 200 rubidium atoms act as its “brain”.
B. It uses silicon chips to finish calculations.
C. Its power consumption is over 10 kilowatts.
D. It was invented by foreign scientists in 2025.
( ) 32. What has the closest meaning to the underlined phrase “speed up breakthroughs” in Paragraph 4?
A. put off breakthroughs for years B. make breakthroughs happen faster
C. stop breakthroughs from happening D. make breakthroughs completely useless
( ) 33. Why is Hanyuan 2 considered a great technological progress?
A. Because it is as large as a common household air conditioner.
B. Because it can produce new kinds of rubidium atoms by itself.
C. Because it completely takes the place of all ordinary home computers.
D. Because it can work at room temperature with low power consumption and strong performance.
( ) 34. What’s the writer’s attitude to Hanyuan 2?
A. doubtful B. positive C. negative D. uncertain
( ) 35. What is the best structure of this passage?
A. B.
C. D.
D
Some believe that people are either smart or dumb. And if they are smart, everything is easy for them. 36 But they can improve the skills they have and develop new ones. What’s your opinion?
In fact, this is related to one’s mindset (思维模式). Dr. Carol Dweck, a psychology (心理) professor at Stanford University, has discovered that people with a fixed mindset solve problems in a much different way from those with a growth mindset.
Dr. Dweck found people with a fixed mindset care about grades. When they make mistakes, they think it means they’re not smart. 37 They’re afraid of challenges, because if they don’t do well, they may look dumb. People with a growth mindset, on the other hand, care about learning, not grades. They learn from mistakes by trying different ways to solve problems or asking for help.
38 They discovered that students with a growth mindset do better in math; those with a fixed mindset do worse. Why? Kids with both mindsets do well in primary school, but middle school math is much harder. So while the growth-mindset kids accept the challenge and work harder, the fixed-mindset kids may just give up. 39
But Dweck’s team discovered something even more important than that. They found that, with some work, kids can choose to have a growth mindset and do better in school. Everyone has some of each type of mindset. 40 When you hear your fixed mindset voice telling you that you’re dumb, or that you’ll look stupid if you ask for help, or that learning a new skill is hard, talk back to it! Then you really can get smarter by working hard, practicing and challenging yourself!
根据材料内容,从下面五个选项中选出能填入文中空缺处的最佳选项。
A. As a result, their grades drop.
B. They also care about how smart they look.
C. Some hold the belief that not everyone can become a genius (天才).
D. They are just like two kinds of voices in your head.
E. Dweck and her team did a research among middle school students.
