根据后文“He chose to let the wood dry for a month”可知,木材是湿的,wet符合语境。
根据“One day, a neighbor invited him to make some furniture.”和“Around the same time, another furniture maker...”
结合上文“He chose to let the wood dry for a month.”
结合“A month later, the other furniture maker received his...and went back home.”
根据上文“A few months passed and the furniture made by that other maker began to break.”

There is a small vegetable market near my home. A woman sells vegetables at the entrance. I often buy from her.
One evening, I got off work late. When I arrived, the market was almost empty. The woman was packing up. I picked two tomatoes and a cucumber. It came to 6.8 yuan. I took out my phone to pay. She suddenly asked, “Do you want some cilantro (香菜)?”
I said no. I live alone, and I can’t use it all. She didn’t listen. She grabbed a small bunch and put it in my bag. “Take it,” she said. “It won’t sell tomorrow anyway.” I smiled. “But I should pay for it.” She shook her head. “A few stalks of cilantro? No need.”
When I got home, I cooked a bowl of noodles. I added the cilantro at the end. It smelled wonderful.
Later, I was busy with work for over a month. I didn’t go to the market. When I finally went back, the woman looked at me and said, “I haven’t seen you in a long time. Were you away on a trip?”
I was surprised. So many people pass her stall every day. But she remembered me. “No,” I said. “Just busy with work.” She nodded. “You still need to eat well. Young people always eat takeout when they’re busy.”
That day, I bought a lot. She put in a bunch of cilantro again. “This time, I must pay,” I said. She smiled. “A few stalks? No need.”
A few days later, her stall was closed. I asked the tofu seller next to her. He said she had gone home to care for an elderly family member. She would be back in a few days.
I walked home with my vegetables. Something felt missing at the entrance.
I used to think city people were cold. Neighbors don’t know each other’s names. People on the same bus just pass by. But that’s not always true.
Some people don’t know your name or your job, but they remind you to eat well. These words are so ordinary. The speaker may forget them right away. But the listener might remember them for a long time.

A. She gave the writer some free cilantro. B. She asked the writer to pay more money.
C. She packed up and closed the stall early. D. She refused to sell vegetables to the writer.

A. The vegetables were more expensive.
B. The woman had moved to a different stall.
C. The market had become busier and more crowded.
D. The woman remembered she hadn’t come for a while.
18. What did the writer think about city people before?
A. They were always friendly to strangers.
B. They were too busy to care about others.
C. They often helped each other in daily life.
D. They liked to talk with people they knew.

On the morning of September 16, 2026, something unusual happened in the East China Sea. A rocket rose from a moving platform at sea. It carried nine satellites into space. Its name was Gravity-1 (引力一号).
It is the world’s most powerful solid-fuel rocket. It can carry 6.5 tons to low Earth orbit. But more importantly, it can launch from the sea. Traditional rockets launch from land. Land launch sites are fixed and limited. A sea platform can move freely and choose the best launch point. This makes space travel more flexible.
This was Gravity-1’s fourth sea launch. It was also its first task to help build a satellite network. The rocket carried eight satellites for the Qianfan network and one test satellite. It reached 800 kilometers high and carried over 3 tons. This set a new record for China’s sea launches.
The mission also showed how far a good idea can go. In just over two years, Gravity-1 grew from a first test flight to a regular launch vehicle. The team has about 100 people. They solved many hard problems. One was how to send many satellites into space safely.
The idea is simple but powerful: instead of building bigger launch sites on land, use the ocean. The sea is open, big, and free.
Gravity-1 is not the end. Its makers are already working on a bigger rocket called Gravity-2. It can be used more than once. If it works, space travel could become cheaper and more common. A great idea, it seems, can always grow into something greater.
21. What happened in the East China Sea on September 16, 2026?
A. A new launch site was built there. B. Gravity-1 landed on the sea safely.
C. Nine satellites came back to the land. D. A rocket took off from a sea platform.
22. What makes Gravity-1 different from other rockets?
A. It can carry more fuel than others. B. It can launch from a sea platform.
C. It can send people into space safely. D. It can fly higher than all other rockets.
23. What does the underlined word “flexible” in Paragraph 2 probably mean?
A. Different to control. B. Easy to understand.
C. Able to change easily. D. Safe to land and launch.
24. What did Gravity-1 achieve in this mission?
A. It carried the most satellites ever. B. It reached the highest speed ever.
C. It sent the first Chinese into space. D. It set a new record for sea launches.
25. What does the last paragraph mainly want to tell us?
A. Gravity-2 will be the most powerful rocket.
B. Space travel will soon become very common.
C. A good idea can open the door to more progress.
D. Bigger rockets are much better than smaller ones.
D 22. B 23. C 24. D 25. C

E项“However, few of them enjoy activities that are good for their health and mood”完全匹配逻辑。
B项“It is the first toy shop for the old people in China”既对这家店的定位做出了关键说明,也能自然过渡到后文对店内环境的细节描写。
A项“On them, there are more than 400 kinds of toys”里的代词“them”指代前文中的“traditional Chinese-style wooden shelves”,逻辑链条完全吻合,顺畅引出后续的玩具分类说明。
F项“Now the shop is not only a shop but also a game center for the old living nearby”是对本段后文所有场景描述的核心概括,上下文高度契合。
C项“They come to the shop to buy toys for their parents”里的代词“They”指代前文中的“younger people”,逻辑完全通顺。

Hello, everyone! Today I want to share my story about trying a new study method.
In Grade 8, I was weak in English and forgot new words quickly. Then I tried making mind maps to learn knowledge. I put key words and sentence structures into clear maps after class. At first, it took me some time to finish them. But slowly, I could remember things much better. My English grades improved little by little. This new try taught me that good ways make study easier. I also learned that it’s important to find proper ways for ourselves.
That’s all. Thank you!
