(新科技原创)Drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), are flying machines without pilots inside them. People control them from the ground with remote controllers or set them to fly by themselves with computer programs. In recent years, drones have become more and more popular and useful in many fields.
How does a drone work? Most common drones have four rotors(旋翼). The rotors are like fans. When they spin fast, they push air downwards. According to a basic physics rule, the air pushes back upwards. This upward force called lift helps the drone rise into the sky. To move forward, the drone makes the rotors at the back spin faster than those in the front. If it needs to turn left or right, it changes the speed of rotors on different sides. A battery provides power, and small sensors(传感器) keep checking height and position all the time to stop it from falling.
Drones bring great convenience to our life. Farmers use them to watch over crops and spray pesticides(农药). This saves lots of time and money. In rescue work, drones can fly into dangerous places such as broken buildings or wild fire areas. They send real-time photos and videos to rescuers, helping find missing people. Film-makers use drones to take amazing aerial shots for movies. Besides, some delivery companies are testing drones to send small packages.
However, drones are not perfect. They have some safety problems. If people fly them near airports, they may hit planes. Some people use drones to take photos of others secretly. Many countries have made rules. For example, people cannot fly drones above certain heights or in crowded areas.
Drones are great inventions. They show how technology changes our world. As technology improves, drones will do more difficult jobs for humans in the future.
49.What helps a drone stay and rise in the air?
A. The battery. B. The lift from spinning rotors. C. The remote controller. D. The sensors.
50.What is the right order of a drone rising up?
① The rotors spin fast. ② Air is pushed downwards.
③ The upward lift appears. ④ The drone rises into the sky.
A. ①②③④ B. ①③②④ C. ②①③④ D. ②③①④
51.Which of the following is NOT true?
A. Drones can be used to help farmers look after crops.
B. Drones can send real-time pictures in rescue tasks.
C. We can freely fly drones anywhere at any time.
D. Drones may cause danger to planes near airports.

Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson was named the men's MVP by the Olympic Council of Asia at an award ceremony in Nagoya.
Yu won three individual gold medals. She set three Asian Games records and one Asian record in this great competition. She is the youngest MVP in Asian Games history. (时文原创)Perler beads(拼豆) also called fuse beads, are a popular DIY craft among teenagers. Many students love this activity because it brings them great fun and a strong sense of achievement. These small plastic beads come in hundreds of different colours, from bright red and sunny yellow to soft blue and pure white. You can buy them in boxes or bags together with useful tools, such as pegboards, paper and hot irons.
To make a work with fuse beads, you need to get everything ready first. Choose a pattern you like. It can be a simple animal, a lovely flower or a cartoon character. Then place beads one by one on the pegboard. You must put each bead in the right place carefully. It takes lots of patience. If you are careless, your pattern will be broken. When you finish placing all beads, cover them with a piece of special paper. Next, use a hot iron to heat the beads gently. The heat will make the plastic melt a little so the beads stick together. After it cools down, you can take your work off the board.
Making fuse bead works is more than just a hobby. When you sit down and focus on your pattern, you can forget all your worries for a while. It helps students practise their eye-hand coordination. Sometimes, friends make works together. They share beads and talk about their ideas. It is a good way to improve their relationship.
You can turn your bead works into many small gifts. Some people make key chains, fridge magnets or small decorations for their bedrooms. They send these hand-made pieces to family and friends on special days. These simple gifts carry much wishes.
However, we must remember safety rules. The iron is very hot, so kids should work with their parents nearby. Never touch the hot iron with your fingers. Also, keep small beads away from little kids, or they may put them in their mouths.
This easy and creative craft teaches us that great works need time and care. As long as we keep trying and do not give up, we can create beautiful things with our own hands.

(原创题)Failing to keep regular bedtime and wake-up time increases the risk of stroke, heart attack and heart failure by 26%, even for people who get enough sleep, a new study suggests.
Earlier studies mainly studied the relationship between sleep length and health. People are advised to sleep 7 to 9 hours every night, and this advice still works. Now researchers pay more attention to sleep patterns. Irregular sleep means people go to bed and wake up at different times daily.
The study shows irregular sleep has a close connection with higher risk of serious heart illnesses. Even eight hours of sleep cannot reduce the bad effects of changing sleep times. The research studied 72,269 people aged 40 to 79 in the UK.
It does not tell us exactly how regular our sleep should be. But it finds the bigger the time change, the higher the health risk. Jean-Philippe Chaput, the lead researcher, advises us to keep the time change of sleep within 30 minutes every day, including weekends. A difference of over one hour means irregular sleep.
He says no one can have perfect sleep all year round. It is not serious if you sleep irregularly for one or two days a week. But if it happens five or six days weekly, it will become a long-term problem.
Chaput also points out keeping the same wake-up time is more important than fixed bedtime. Changing your wake-up time will disturb your body clock and cause health problems. If you need to catch up on sleep at weekends, go to bed earlier instead of getting up late.
In the study, participants wore activity trackers for seven days to record sleep. Experts gave each person a Sleep Regularity Index score. They followed these people for eight years. After considering other influencing factors, researchers found irregular sleepers were 26% more likely to get cardiovascular diseases, while moderately irregular sleepers were 8% more likely. The more irregular your sleep is, the greater the risk.
For 18–64-year-olds, the suggested sleep time is 7–9 hours a night. People over 65 need 7–8 hours. Enough sleep cannot lower heart risks for fully irregular sleepers. However, it helps moderately irregular sleepers cut down risks.
This observational study cannot prove direct cause and effect. But researchers conclude sleep regularity may be more important than enough sleep length for heart health.
76.According to the study, irregular sleep can ____ the risk of some serious cardiovascular illnesses by 26%.
77.Researchers advise us to keep the change of bedtime and wake-up time within ____ minutes each day including weekends.
78.If we have irregular sleep five or six days a week, it will turn into a ____ health problem.
79.It is better to go to bed ____ than get up late when we need to catch up on sleep at weekends.
80.The study suggests sleep regularity may be more ____ than enough sleep length for reducing heart disease risk.

The great person I admire most
Good morning, dear teachers and friends. Today my topic is “The great person I admire most”.
The person I admire most is Yuan Longping. He was Chinese. He was hard-working, modest and full of love for people.
He studied agriculture at university. He spent most of his life developing hybrid rice. Once he worked in the field day and night to test new rice kinds, even in hot summers. Thanks to his great work, millions of people around the world have enough food to eat.
Yuan Longping sets a good example to me. I learn that we should keep trying and never give up when facing difficulties. I hope I can do something useful for our country in the future.
Thank you for listening!

(新科技原创)Drones,.also known as unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),are flying machines without pilots
inside them.People control them from the ground with remote controllers or set them to fly by themselves with
computer programs. In recent years, drones have become more and more popular and useful in many fields
How does a drone work? Most common drones have four rotors ()The rotors are like fans. When they
spin fast, they push air downwards.According to a basic physics rule, the air pushes back upwards. This upward
force called lift helps the drone rise into the sky.To move forward, the drone makes the rotors at the back spin
faster than those in the front. If it needs to turn left or right,it changes the speed of rotors on different sides.A
battery provides power, and small sensors (keep checking height and position all the time to stop it from
falling.
Drones bring great convenience to our life.Farmers use them to watch over crops and spray pesticides().
This saves lots of time and money. In rescue work, drones can fly into dangerous places such as broken buildings
or wild fire areas. They send real-time photos and videos to rescuers, helping find missing people.Film-makers
use drones to take amazing aerial shots for movies.Besides, some delivery companies are testing drones to send
small packages.
However, drones are not perfect. They have some safety problems. If people fly them near airports, they may
hit planes. Some people use drones to take photos of others secretly. Many countries have made rules. For
example, people cannot fly drones above certain heights or in crowded areas.
Drones are great inventions. They show how technology changes our world. As technology improves, drones
will do more difficult jobs for humans in the future.
49.What helps a drone stay and rise in the air?
A.The battery.B.The lift from spinning rotors.
C.The remote controller.D.The sensors.

beads come in hundreds of different colours, from bright red and sunny yellow to soft blue and pure white. You
can buy them in boxes or bags together with useful tools, such as pegboards, paper and hot irons.
To make a work with fuse beads, you need to get everything ready first.Choose a pattern you like.It can be a
simple animal,a lovely flower or a cartoon character. Then place beads one by one on the pegboard. You must put
each bead in the right place carefully. It takes lots of patience. If you are careless, your pattem will be broken.
When you finish placing all beads, cover them with a piece of special paper.Next, use a hot iron to heat the beads
gently. The heat will make the plastic melt a little so the beads stick together. After it cools down, you can take
your work off the board.
Making fuse bead works is more than just a hobby. When you sit down and focus on your pattern, you can
forget all your worries for a while. It helps students practise their eye-hand coordination.Sometimes, friends make
works together. They share beads and talk about their ideas. It is a good way to improve their relationship.
You can tum your bead works into many small gifts. Some people make key chains, fridge magnets or small
decorations for their bedrooms. They send these hand-made pieces to family and friends on special days. These
simple gifts carry much wishes.
However,we must remember safety rules. The iron is very hot,so kids should work with their parents nearby.
Never touch the hot iron with your fingers. Also, keep small beads away from little kids,or they may put them in
their mouths.
This easy and creative craft teaches us that great works need time and care.As long as we keep trying and do
not give up,we can create beautiful things with our own hands.

heart failure by 26%,even for people who get enough sleep,a new study suggests.

Earlier studies mainly studied the relationship between sleep length and health.People are advised to sleep 7
to 9 hours every night, and this advice still works. Now researchers pay more attention to sleep patterns.Irregular
sleep means people go to bed and wake up at different times daily.
The study shows inregular sleep has a close connection with higher risk of serious heart illnesses.Even eight
hours of sleep cannot reduce the bad effects of changing sleep times. The research studied 72,269 people aged 40
to 79 in the UK.
It does not tell us exactly how regular our sleep should be.But it finds the bigger the time change, the higher
张
the health risk.Jean-Philippe Chaput, the lead researcher, advises us to keep the time change of sleep within 30
minutes every day, including weekends.A difference of over one hour means irregular sleep.
He says no one can have perfect sleep all year round. It is not serious if you sleep irregularly for one or two

days a week. But if it happens five or six days weekly,it will become a long-term problem.

Chaput also points out keeping the same wake-up time is more important than fixed bedtime.Changing your

wake-up time will disturb your body clock and cause health problems. If you need to catch up on sleep at
weekends,go to bed earlier instead of getting up late.

In the study, participants wore activity trackers for seven days to record sleep.Experts gave each person a
Sleep Regularity Index score. They followed these people for eight years. After considering other influencing
factors, researchers found irregular sleepers were 26%more likely to get cardiovascular diseases, while
moderately irregular sleepers were 8%more likely. The more irregular your sleep is,the greater the risk.
S
For 18-64-year-olds,the suggested sleep time is 7-9 hours a night.People over 65 need 7-8 hours.Enough
sleep cannot lower heart risks for fully irregular sleepers. However,it helps moderately irregular sleepers cut
down risks.
This observational study cannot prove direct cause and effect. But researchers conclude sleep regularity may
be more important than enough sleep length for heart health.

(时文改编)Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi was named the women's Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Sunday, capping China's record gold-medal haul at an Asian Games held outside the country. The 13-year-old became one of the brightest young stars of the Games.
The teenager won the women's 200-meter butterfly in a Games-record 2 minutes and 5.08 seconds. Later she made an Asian record of 2:06.10 in the 200m individual medley. She finished her competition with victory in the 400m individual medley in another Games-record time of 4:28.56.
"As a young athlete, this honor is an affirmation and, more importantly, an encouragement to young athletes," Yu said at the ceremony. "I will continue to train hard, challenge myself, and strive for further breakthroughs. I hope to work with young athletes from across Asia to create more exciting competitions and inspire more young people to love and take part in sports, especially swimming."
Boonson, 20, also broke records. He won the men's 100m and 200m titles and got silver in the mixed 4×100m relay. He ran 9.90 seconds in the 100m final after setting a Games record of 9.91 in the semifinals. In the 200m, he won in 19.88, tying the Asian record set by China's Xie Zhenye in 2019.
With Yu's award, China finished first in the gold-medal list for a 12th straight Asian Games. The Chinese team got 169 gold, 89 silver, and 83 bronze medals, total 341. This is China's new record for gold medals at an Asian Games held in foreign countries. China's earlier best overseas result was 165 gold medals at the 2006 Doha Asian Games.

七、任务型阅读。(共5小题,每小题1分,计5分)
