When he was young, he showed great talent in painting. Later, he made up his mind to study art. In 1919, Xu Beihong went to France to learn Western art. There he learned new painting skills. He formed his special art style by combining Chinese ideas with Western techniques. A few years later, he returned to China. He painted his most famous works, including Galloping Horses. With paintings like Galloping Horses, we can see power and Chinese spirit in his works. He tried to show the energy of Chinese people in his paintings. Sadly, he died in 1953. I like Xu Beihong because he brought Chinese and Western art together wonderfully. I like him also because he loved his country and showed its beauty in his paintings. 1.
