Greenfield was once a quiet farming village. Years ago, young people left for big cities because there were few jobs and the roads were terrible. The only school was old, and the clinic had no modern equipment. Old farmers stayed, but the village seemed to be falling asleep.
Everything started to change five years ago. The village council talked with the government and made a development plan. First, they repaired the roads so buses could reach the village safely. Then they built a new primary school and a small health center.
The biggest change came when the village started an organic vegetable project. Farmers learned new ways to grow tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce without heavy chemicals. The vegetables tasted better and sold well in nearby cities. Young people began to return. Some opened online shops; others started family farms.
Today, Greenfield has a weekend market. City visitors come to buy fresh food and enjoy the clean air. The village is not rich like a big town, but people are hopeful. “We don’t need to leave home to have a good life now,” says Li Hua, a 26-year-old farmer who came back last year.

Great Changes in My Hometown
Great changes have taken place in my hometown in recent years.
In the past, the roads were narrow and muddy. Most houses were old and small. People there had little clean water and few jobs, so many young people left for big cities.
However, things have changed a lot. The government has built wide roads and new schools. Villagers have planted lots of trees, so the environment is much cleaner now. Some families even open shops or develop tourism. As a result, people are getting richer and happier.
I love my hometown and I believe it will become even more beautiful in the future.
