主谓一致遵循三大原则:就近原则(either...or, neither...nor, not only...but also)、就远原则(主语后接with/together with/as well as时谓语与前面主语一致)、the number of用单数而a number of用复数。

However, technology often means we spend more time at home. And often it’s just us, with our computer or television. Teenagers aren’t as 8 they were in the past because they don’t do enough exercise. And although young people still get on well with their friends, some people think teenagers today feel more 9 than teenagers in the past.

根据后文“Is it because of technology...”

根据主语They和词组make fun of之间是被动关系,应选用made fun of,表示“被取笑”。made fun缺少介词of;making fun of“取笑(主动语态)”,逻辑不符。

gave birth缺少介词to;gave a birth to短语用法错误,均不符。
pay for“为……
Passage 1
Last week, our class held 1 discussion about teenage problems. Many students shared their experiences 2 us. The discussion lasted for two hours.
Amy said she had too much homework and had no time 3 (do) things she liked. She felt very 4 (stress) every day and sometimes couldn’t sleep well at night.
Tom said his parents didn’t allow him 5 (go) out with friends on weekends. He felt lonely and 6 (happy). He didn’t know how to talk to his parents about his feelings.
Our teacher listened to us 7 (care) and gave us some 8 (advise). She said it was important for us to communicate with our parents. She also suggested that we should make a plan for our study and free time. This can help us manage our time well.
After the discussion, we all felt much 9 (good). We learnt that 10 (talk) about problems is the first step to solving them.
1.a 2.with 3.to do 4.stressed 5.to go 6.unhappy 7.carefully 8.advice 9.better 10.talking
固定搭配“share sth. with sb.”
句型“have no time to do sth.”
固定搭配“allow sb. to do sth.”
Passage 2
Dear Editor,
I am a Grade 9 student. Recently, I 1 (face) a problem that I don’t know how to deal with. I am writing to ask for your help.
I have a good friend named Simon. He is an 2 (energy) boy, but he is also very careless. Last week, while he 3 (take) his math exam, he made a serious mistake. To make things 4 (bad), he didn’t tell his parents the truth until I asked him why he looked so upset. He told me that he would be afraid of being punished, so he 5 (hide) it.
I want to help him, but I don’t know whether I should tell his parents or not. On one hand, I think his parents have the right 6 (know) the truth. On the other hand, I am afraid Simon 7 (be) angry with me if I tell them. I was wondering what would happen if they knew the 8 (true).
Could you tell me what I should do? I also want to know how I can help Simon become a better student. He is neither organized nor 9 (impatient), but his parents don’t know about this. I am worried that if he doesn’t change, he will 10 (probable) have more problems in the future.
1.have faced 2.energetic 3.was taking 4.worse 5.hid 6.to know 7.will be 8.truth 9.patient 10.probably
while引导时间状语从句,从句常用进行时态,last week表示过去,所以从句用过去进行时;主语是he,be动词用was,take的现在分词是taking,应填was taking。
to make things worse是固定短语,意为“更糟糕的是”,bad的比较级是worse。
have the right to do sth.

Passage 1
It is natural for young people to admire cool and good-looking young “idols.” We spend a lot of time 1 about them, even more time than we spend on our studies or work. We often wonder: 2 makes them so popular? What could I do to be cool like them?
Well, guess what? Many of your idols 3 to “look” cool. If you could see into their private lives, you would find these stars aren’t so bright. Some of them might not be 4 good looking, honest, kind or hard working as you are!
When I was a teenager, I, 5 most of my classmates, had been fans of pop idols, too. Then, I discovered Leonard Cohen and Neil Young. They were ordinary looking people who played 6 guitar while sitting on a chair. They wore no flashy clothes, and they had no crazy fans. They 7 to be flashy because their songs were great and meaningful. They told the truth: Life is hard and the road might sometimes be 8 . Most of all, they taught me that it was okay if I was not popular and cool all of the time. I still listen to them today.
Modern“ idol culture” often sends the wrong message that life is always easy and fun. But in fact, most of us have the stress of dealing with life’s many 9 .
Idols can serve as important role models in our lives, so it’s very important to choose the right 10 . “When I was your age, there weren’t any computers 3 video games. And I didn’t get a bike 4 I was 16. And it was second-hand. And it was too big for me!”
So, is it really true that life is better for teenagers now? It’s certainly true that many teenagers have got more things nowadays. A typical family is smaller now, so parents have got more money to spend 5 each child. And, many things are cheaper than they were in the past.
Technology is probably the greatest change. Forty years ago, no one 6 imagine a world with tiny computers, tablets and amazing smartphones. And now these things are our most essential possessions—we can’t imagine 7 without them.
However, technology often means we spend more time at home. And often it’s just us, with our computer or television. Teenagers aren’t as 8 they were in the past because they don’t do enough exercise. And although young people still get on well with their friends, some people think teenagers today feel more 9 than teenagers in the past.
What do you think? 10 is teenage life better these days? Is it because of technology, more learning resources or more choices?
