第二节 语篇理解与推理(共12小题;每小题2分,满分24分)
A
Once Upon a Time in the Middle East, also known as Welcome to Dragon Restaurant, is a highly praised anti-war film directed by Wen Muye, who is good at showing ordinary people’s growth and inner goodness amid hardships. Starring Shen Teng and Jiang Qiming, the film vividly presents the spiritual change of an ordinary Chinese chef trapped in cruel Middle Eastern warfare.
Xu Fu, an experienced chef from Northeast China, fell into huge debt after a fire accident in his restaurant injured a customer. Faced with large money to pay and the duty of supporting his elderly mother and young daughter, he took a risky job as the head chef of Dragon Restaurant in Bahata, a city severely destroyed by ongoing wars. There, he worked alongside Ma Junsheng, a thoughtful and quick-witted restaurant manager familiar with local affairs.
Driven only by personal interests at first, Xu Fu aimed only to earn enough money to clear his debts and return home safely. He showed little care for the sufferings of local civilians and countless war orphans, even though the restaurant served as a rare impartial zone that kept stable water and food supplies in the chaotic city.
As the war grew worse, Xu Fu and Ma Junsheng were arrested and detained by a cruel radical leader known as “the Principal”, who took homeless children and trained them as self-killing bomb attackers for terrorist attacks. At first, the two partners only planned a private escape for themselves and Saif, a young orphan who had learned cooking skills from Xu Fu. However, upon learning that dozens of imprisoned children would be sent on deadly bombing tasks in days, they decided to save all the innocent youngsters at the risk of their own lives.
To prevent the children from carrying out violent tasks, Ma Junsheng secretly added poisonous ‘sprouted potatoes’ to the meals, leaving all the children physically unfit for the terrorist plan. When the trick was uncovered, Ma Junsheng took full blame for the incident and was killed by the extremists. His selfless sacrifice completely changed Xu Fu’s mind. In the end, Xu Fu built up great courage to rescue all the trapped orphans, showing that true kindness can shine brightly even in the darkest moments of war.

B. Ma Junsheng made the plan to poison food mainly to protect Saif alone.
C. Xu Fu managed to escape from the extremist base with the help of Ma Junsheng’s relatives.
D. Sprouted potatoes were the only toxic material available in the restaurant back then.
( )31. What is the change of Xu Fu’s attitude during the story?
A. Selfish → Doubtful → Hopeless B. Careless → Fearful → Proud
C. Greedy → Thankful → Regretful D. Self-centered → Shocked → Brave-hearted
( )32. What is the main purpose of this text?
A. To describe the severe destruction brought by Middle Eastern wars.
B. To comment on the director’s unique filming techniques and styles.
C. To introduce the touching plot and humanistic theme of a popular anti-war movie.
D. To explain how cooking skills help people escape dangerous war zones.
B
Have you ever thought about what’s more important, looking fashionable or feeling comfortable? Many people choose style over comfort and some even go to extremes (极端) to follow fashion. But we should remember: being fashionable isn’t everything. It’s more important to be healthy.
Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So, they start extreme diets. They might not eat meals or eat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live?
Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels to make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably. Some even wear tight clothes that influence blood circulation, making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health?
Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money?
So, let’s rethink what’s really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being? Clothes or hairstyles don’t tell us anything about a person’s character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes, we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let’s eat properly and exercise regularly. Remember, your worth is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person.
( )33. Why do some people go on extreme diets according to the text?
A. Because the diets are healthy. B. Because they want to save time.
C. Because they want to save money. D. Because they just want to look pretty.
( )34. What is the writer’s purpose of using a question in each paragraph?
A. To ask for help from readers. B. To describe the latest fashion.
C. To tell how to spend time and money. D. To lead readers to think about the topic.
( )35. What does the underlined word “well-being” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A. Growth. B. Health. C. Warmth. D. Wealth.
( )36 What is the structure of the passage? (P=Paragraph)
A. B. C. D.
C
As young people, many of us dream of becoming “somebody” when we grow up. However, without enough courage or support, we often feel far away from this imagined goal. At times, strange thoughts come into our minds: Should we just give up and “lie flat” instead?
Not the little piggy and his three friends from the animated (动画的) movie Nobody (无名之辈).
This past summer, their story made people laugh and encouraged tens of millions of moviegoers across China. The four little, nameless monsters (妖怪) dress up as characters from the famous film Journey to the West. They leave Langlang Mountain and set out on their own pilgrimage (朝圣之旅). Along the way, many other monsters laugh at their dreams. But the little pig and his friends don’t give up. They keep fighting “bad guys”, trying to live their own life.
Some say that Nobody is not just a movie, rather, it’s more like a mirror. In real life, many common people also choose to hold on to their dreams, even though they face great difficulties. One of them is Pang Zhongwang, now a star student graduating from Tsinghua University. Twenty-six years ago, however, he was born a poor “nobody” in a countryside of Hebei. His late (已故的) mother had a disability and couldn’t work. His father had a serious mental(精神) illness. Even though there were all these challenges, Pang, under his mother’s influence, grew up strong and happy. He started to take on family duties when he was very young. And deep in his heart, this “nobody” also dreamed of becoming “somebody”. He always achieved excellent grades in school through hard work. In 2017, he caught national attention by scoring an impressive 684 out of 750 in the gaokao.
Pang was luckier than the four monsters in Nobody. He was much closer to his dream of becoming “somebody”. The piggy and his friends, however, fail in their pilgrimage. But their courage is now remembered by many. In a way, they have grown to become “somebodies”, too.
Now, what do you want to do with your big dreams? Clearly, if you “lie flat”, you’ll remain a “nobody”. We wish you good luck as you try to break out of your own “Langlang Mountain”!
( )37. What do the four little monsters do when other monsters laugh at their dreams?
A. They give up and lie flat. B. They try to live their own life.
C. They feel sad about it. D. They are discouraged by the laughs.
( )38. How does the writer explain Nobody is more like a mirror in real life?
A. By giving an example of Pang B. By drawing a picture of a mirror
C. By listing numbers D. By introducing a film
( )39. Which of the following can be inferred from the passage?
A. The four monsters in Nobody will surely achieve their dream of becoming famous.
B. Pang Zhongwang’s mother’s illness had no influence on his growth.
C. “Lie flat” will prevent one from realizing their big dreams.
D. All common people who hold on to their dreams can become “somebody” easily.
( )40. What challenges made Pang Zhongwang just a poor “nobody”?
① He was born in a poor countryside. ② He worked hard to take on his family duties.
③ His mother had a disability and couldn’t work. ④ He achieved high grades in school.
⑤ His father had a serious mental illness
A. ①②③ B. ①③⑤ C. ②③④ D. ②④⑤
第三节 逻辑衔接与还原(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读以下语篇,从语篇后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余选项。
The word “longevity” comes from the word “long”. It means that people are living a long life. So in the traditional Spring and Autumn Period, people considered longevity as the most important goal.
41 Early in the Spring and Autumn Period, there were celebrations for the elderly.
42 So the Chinese people started to hold the birthday ceremony at the age of 40. Later celebrations would also be held for people’s 50th, 60th and 70th birthdays. The 60th birthday ceremony was the most common. As the length of people’s lives is increasing in modern society, more celebrations have been held in the later decades (十年). In addition, people now have the habit of celebrating the birthday before the end of the decades. 43 Why so? As the pronunciation of “nine” in Chinese is the same as the pronunciation of the word “long”. Nine is also the largest single-digit number. 44 The highlight of the celebration is birthday feast (宴会), which is different from other feasts. 45 Besides being a form of celebrating old age, the birthday ceremony is also a way to wish for the health of the elderly people and hope that they can overcome difficulties they may meet in later life.
A.It stands for best wishes for longevity.
B.Six is another lucky number in people’s eyes.
C.Only a few people could live long in ancient times.
D.At birthday feasts, eating “longevity noodles” is the most important part.
E.There were many activities and customs about the celebration of longevity.
F.For example, people usually celebrate the 59th birthday rather than the 60th birthday.

第三部分 语篇读写(共二节,满分45分)

Money is part of our life. So we are faced with the same question: what to do with our money?
Smart spending (理性消费) means using money in a way that fits real needs, real value and real plans.
In daily life, teenagers usually spend most of their money buying something necessary—food, clothes or school things. But sometimes, they buy things they don’t really need. Following the crowd may lead teenagers to buy something unnecessary. For example, when some classmates have the same kind of pencil case, a teenager may feel unhappy about having a different one. So he will buy a new one like theirs.
Teenagers can start learning how to manage money wisely at an early age. On Tom’s 6th birthday, his grandmother gave him several jars (罐子) to help him make good use of money. One was for spending, one for saving and another for giving. It was at that time that Tom started his own money journal (记账本) to record where the money had gone. He has had this habit since then.

Tom’s birthday present is more than several jars. His grandmother has given a kid the chance to learn lifelong values. The wider goal of the jars is to encourage teenagers to think more wisely about the money and the things they can do.

13-15【原文】One of the biggest problems nowadays is pollution. Water pollution has made rivers and lakes dirty. Noise pollution makes us talk louder and become angry easily. Air pollution is the most serious kind of pollution. It is harmful to every living thing in the world. Cars, planes and factories all pollute the air every day. Many countries are now making laws to stop pollution. I think we should do something to stop pollution in our daily life. We should stop littering. We can go to work or school by bus or with our friends in the same car. Everyone must help to stop pollution.
16-20【原文】Dolphins are seen as the friendliest animals in the sea. We have heard of lots of stories about them helping people and ships. The more we learn about dolphins, the more we realize that their society is not as simple as people imagined before. They look after other dolphins when they are sick. They care for the oldest dolphins and protect the weakest dolphins in the community, just as we do. Some scientists have pointed out that dolphins have their own language. But it is much more probable that they communicate with each other without words. Could any of these mammals be smarter than people? Many people argue that we can kill them more easily than they can kill us. So we are still smarter than they are. However, that may be because we still know too little about them. If we discover more, we won’t think we are smarter when we destroy them.

76.例文:
A song which helped me out
It’s my honor to speak here and I am very glad to share my topic with all of you. Today I’d like to talk about “A song” which helped me out.
I had promised to enter the top 5 of our class in this midterm examination. But I failed. How sad I was. I locked myself in my room and didn’t speak to anyone.
I cried and reproached myself. About two hours later, a song named “True Hero” came into my ears from the living room. I listened carefully. I was touched deeply by its lyrics. It said “put all your heart into realizing your dream...Nobody can succeed easily.” I made up my mind to study harder.
So when you fail or have difficulty, don’t lose heart, listen to the song “True Hero” and it will help you out.
Thank you for your listening.
