Have you ever wondered why some people are more patient than others? Many people think patience is something you are born with. But new studies show that patience is a skill that can be trained, just like playing sports or learning a new language.
Patience means being able to wait without getting angry or upset. It is not easy to keep patient in our busy world. We live with lots of quick‑result things: fast food, short videos and instant messages. These things make our brains get used to getting what we want right away. As a result, many young people become less patient. They may get annoyed easily when things do not go as they expect.
Scientists have done some experiments. They found that people with good patience can deal with difficulties better. They are more likely to finish difficult tasks and solve problems in a calm way. They also have better relationships with family and friends.
So how can we train our patience? Here are some practical ways. First, practice waiting. When you are waiting for something, do not look at your phone all the time. Try to stay calm. Second, break big tasks into small steps. If you have a huge homework project, do not try to finish it all at once. Finish one small part at a time. Third, learn to accept that not everything can be perfect. Sometimes things will go wrong, and that is normal.
Patience is not something that comes to you overnight. It needs daily practice. If you keep trying, you will become a more patient person little by little.
62. What do new studies tell us about patience?
A. People are born with patience. B. Patience can be learned and trained.
C. Patience is only for old people. D. Nobody can improve their patience.
63. Why are many young people less patient nowadays?
A. They do not have any difficult tasks. B. They are used to quick results in modern life.
C. They have too many friends around them. D. They never make mistakes in daily life.
64. Which is NOT a good way to train patience according to the passage?
A. Practice waiting patiently. B. Divide big tasks into small parts.
C. Expect everything to be perfect. D. Stay calm when things go wrong.
65. What can we learn from the passage?
A. It takes time to develop patience. B. Patience is useless in daily life.
C. Fast food makes people more patient. D. We should never wait for anything.
D
Making healthy choices is important. Eating the right food, staying active and getting enough sleep can help your body in lots of ways.
Picking the right food gives you the energy to do all the things you love. It also helps your body grow and your brain develop. Eating things such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains (全谷物) is good for your health. However, being healthy doesn’t mean you can never eat snacks. It’s about making sure you have a balanced diet. “When you choose a balanced diet, you’ll have more energy, feel better and be able to do the things you love,” Lucy Upton, a children’s dietitian (营养学家) , says.
Another healthy choice you can make is being active—whether it is sports, going for a walk or playing a game. Being active helps your brain make special chemicals. These chemicals can relax your body and calm your mind. Being active can help your body and your mind stay fighting fit. Feeling fit can make you feel better and more confident about yourself. When you play a ball game with others, you can even make new friends.
Finally, getting enough sleep is also very important. Sleep helps your body grow. While you sleep, your brain is busy building new connections and your body is repairing itself. Preparing properly for bedtime helps you stay asleep. A good way to tire yourself out is by getting plenty of exercise during the day, like walking to and from school or doing sports. Take an hour or two to rest or relax after a period of activities before bed. Don’t drink tea or coffee, and turn off phones, computers and video games. Try reading a book instead.
Remember: making healthy choices is the key to keep your body and your mind fit and strong. Let’s get started now!
66. Why does the writer show Lucy Upton’s words?
A. To tell readers who is a famous dietitian.
B. To support the point with an expert’s opinion.
C. To give an example of what to eat for breakfast.
D. To show the idea that snacks are dangerous for children.
67. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 refer to (指) ?
A. Doing sports. B. Going for a walk. C. Playing the game. D. Another healthy choice.
68. What’s the best title of the text?
A. The Dangers of Eating Too Many Snacks B. How to Choose the Right Food
C. Three Keys to a Healthy Body and Mind D. The Importance of Keeping Healthy
E
Recently, I asked a seeing friend who had just walked in the woods what she had noticed. “Nothing special”she replied.
How was it possible, I asked myself, to walk through the woods and see nothing worthy of note? I who cannot see find hundreds of things to interest me only through touch. If I can get so much pleasure from touch, how much more beauty must be found by sight (视力)? And I have imagined what I should most like to see if I were given the use of my eyes for just three days.
On the first day, I should want to see the people who have made my life worth living and the books which have been read to me. In the afternoon, I should take a walk in the woods and admire the beauties of nature. That night, I should not be able to sleep.
On my second day, I should go to the museums to see man’s progress. I should try to explore the spirit of man through his art. In the evening, I should spend at the movies.
The following day, I should spend in the world of common people going about the business of life. At midnight, permanent night would close in on me again, and I should realize how much I had left unseen.
I who am blind can give one suggestion to those who see: Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be blind. The same is true of other senses. Hear the songs of birds, as if you would be deaf tomorrow. Smell the flowers, as if tomorrow you could never smell again…But of all the senses, I’m sure that sight must be the most pleasant.
(----Adapted from Three Days to See by Helen Keller)
69. What makes the writer start imagining the three days?
A. Walking in the woods. B. Asking herself questions.
C. Seeing natural beauty. D. Touching interesting things.
70. What does the underlined word “permanent” in Paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. bright B. silent C. endless D. frightening
71. Which is the best structure (结构) of the passage?
A. B. C. D.
72. Which of the following sayings may the writer agree with?
A. Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.
B. Never leave until tomorrow what you can do today.
C. Live every moment and be thankful for what you have.
D. The future belongs to those who are preparing for it now.
F
Nowadays many teenagers spend plenty of time on short‑video apps. They enjoy watching different kinds of short videos in their free time. However, some of them easily fall into a bad habit: comparing their own life with other people’s perfect online lives.
On those videos, some teenagers show their wonderful holidays, excellent grades or fancy new things. Most of these are carefully‑prepared. What the viewers see is only a small part of real life. Few people post their failures or troubles online. So it is unfair for you to judge others’ whole life from such videos.
When you keep comparing, you may gradually lose confidence in yourself. You begin to doubt whether you are good enough. Actually everyone has weak points and unhappy moments. No one’s life is always perfect.
Experts give some useful advice. First, learn to tell the difference between online shows and real life. Second, put more energy into your own daily life. Try to notice your own small progress. Third, value what you already have. If you can do these things well, you will feel much better about yourself.
We should remember: our own journey is what really matters. There is no need to race against other people.
73. Why is it unfair to know others’ life from short videos? (不超过10个词)
____________________________________________________________
74. What result may comparing with online lives bring to teenagers? (不超过10个词)

If they are strangers to you, just nod to them with a smile. They will think you are friendly. Next, keep polite as often as possible, like saying thanks to the dining hall aunts. This will make them comfortable and you’ll get their respect. Finally, offer your praise, like saying the color of your coat is really nice to a classmate. This will bring your relationship close.

【答案】62. B 63. B 64. C 65. A

第二段首句提到,作者因朋友在森林中“未注意到特殊事物”而自我发问“How was it possible, I asked myself, to walk through the woods and see nothing worthy of note?”,随后展开想象。
【70题详解】
根据第五段“At midnight, permanent night would close in on me again,”可知,结合海伦・凯勒盲人的身份,此处是指三天后作者将重回黑暗;据此可以推断“permanent night”指“永恒的黑夜”;因此,“permanent”与“endless”同义。
【71题详解】
综合全文可知,第一段,引出问题,朋友忽视自然之美;第二段,提出假设,若有三天光明;第三、四、五段,分述三天计划;第六段,总结,呼吁珍惜感官,对应选项D。
【72题详解】
原文最后一段“Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be blind. The same is true of other senses. Hear the songs of birds, as if you would be deaf tomorrow. Smell the flowers, as if tomorrow you could never smell again”,意思是:使用你的眼睛,就好像明天你就会失明;其他感官也一样,聆听鸟鸣,仿佛明天你就会失聪;闻花香,仿佛明天再也无法嗅到。作者劝告人们要珍惜当下拥有的感官,珍惜每一刻,感恩你现在所拥有的东西。

Dear classmates,
Today I’d like to share my ideas about knowing ourselves and dealing with teenage problems.
Knowing ourselves is very important. I am an organized person, but sometimes I feel too worried and lack confidence. Last term, I felt very stressed because I could hardly keep a balance between my schoolwork and my hobby. To solve it, I talked about my feelings with my parents patiently. We made a proper plan for my study and free time. Gradually I made great progress.
