Some cities function as living galleries in themselves through city-wide street art or award- winning architecture. Others offer artistic ways to explore history and culture, from immersive (沉浸式的) exhibitions to forward-thinking initiatives. Budapest Art takes to the streets in the Hungarian capital. Here, city walls act as a canvas for many homegrown and international artists to make their mark, whether through political messages, murals (壁画) or admiration for beloved figures and concepts. Though the art form has now spread well across the city, the Rubik’s cube and Refugee Girl in the Jewish Quarter remain representative works to get you started. Milan Milan’s fashion heritage dates back to its days as an important trading centre, when rich traders would bring luxurious fabrics to the city and develop and improve their business skills in its streets. It’s easy to plan a handcrafted tour taking in contemporary fashion houses, modern art galleries, historic churches and architecture as you go. Copenhagen Design is integrated into the outline of the Danish capital. Copenhagen’s architecture has been awarded many honours over the years, including UNESCO World Capital of Architecture2023. Danish symbol, Arne Jacobsen, was a pioneer of modernist architecture in the city. The spiral (螺旋形的) staircases, Egg and Swan chairs and representative Room 606 at the Radisson Collection Royal Hotel, Copenhagen, were designed by him. Riyadh Saudi Arabia’s largest city has actively positioned itself as a global destination for creative travellers and to this end, it has established the Riyadh Art initiative. The first public art project of its kind in the country, Riyadh Art, aims to transform the city into a gallery without walls through public art festivals and workshops. Visit the capital of Saudi Arabian, Riyadh, in winter and you’ll see the city shine brightly under the lights of Noor Riyadh, the world’s largest light art festival. 1. They are famous for ancient architecture. 3. Who are most likely to show interest in the article? A. Traders who sell luxurious fabrics to the city. B. Historians who study contemporary history. 根据第二段“Here, city walls act as a canvas for many homegrown and international artists to make their mark, whether through political messages, murals (壁画) or admiration for beloved figures and concepts.(在这里,无论是通过政治信息、壁画还是对心爱人物和概念的崇拜,城墙都是许多本土和国际艺术家留下印记的画布)”可知,游客可以在Budapest欣赏城市墙上美丽的壁画。故选A。 根据第四段“Design is integrated into the outline of the Danish capital.(设计融入了丹麦首都的轮廓)”和最后一段“Visit the capital of Saudi Arabian, Riyadh, in winter and you’ll see the city shine brightly under the lights of Noor Riyadh, the world’s largest light art festival.(冬天去沙特阿拉伯的首都利雅得,你会看到这座城市在世界上最大的灯光艺术节Noor Riyadh的灯光下闪闪发光)”可知,Copenhagen和Riyadh都是首都。故选A。 根据第一段“For travelers planning a culture-focused adventure, cities are the best place to start. Some cities function as living galleries in themselves through city-wide street art or award- winning architecture. Others offer artistic ways to explore history and culture, from immersive (沉浸式的) exhibitions to forward-thinking initiatives.(对于计划一次以文化为中心的冒险的旅行者来说,城市是最好的起点。一些城市通过城市范围内的街头艺术或获奖建筑,本身就是生活画廊。还有一些以艺术的方式探索历史和文化,从沉浸式的展览到前瞻性的倡议)”可知,最有可能对这篇文章感兴趣的人应该是计划专注文化冒险的游客。故选D。 B At lunchtime recently, Sha Jinyuan, 22, sent a WeChat message to her meal partner, or fandazi, asking, “What to eat?” After her partner replied with “don’t know”, Sha said, “Let’s just go! ” Are these two people friends? No, they are dazi, or activity partners for specific pursuits, such as playing games, taking classes, traveling, or hiking and camping. Dazi now refers to a new kind of social connection with the aim of pursuing shared interests, rather than developing lasting friendships. Early last month, a study of 1,335 people conducted by China Youth Daily’s social survey center found that72.6% said they had one or more dazi. More than half of them said they go for meals with a dazi, while over 30% seek dazi for sports, travel, learning and playing games. More than 20% have dazi for shopping or walking their children. The survey carried out last month found that young people seek dazi to share similar interests, to accompany them or share costs, expand their social circle, and to motivate, monitor and help one another. Some young people search for dazi because their lives are too fast-paced and their social circles too small. Xu Kun, an expert at the 12355 hotline for youth psychological counseling (咨询) and legal aid in Dalian, said: “Young people enjoy doing things together. With less responsibility and pressure, the two people concerned get along more easily. “This is why young people these days are enthusiastic about fonning dazi circles,” Xu said. “A dazi relationship not only meets young people’s social needs, but also reduces the basic costs in terms of time, energy and emotion required to keep a close relationship,” Xu added. In this new kind of relationship, less responsibility gives people more freedom, but may also cause some problems. After all, dazi circle is quite different from real friendship, as some experts pointed out. 4. What is the purpose of Paragraph 1? A. To state a fact. B. To show a conversation. C. To raise a question. D. To introduce the topic. 5. How does the author show us that dazi circle is very popular in paragraph 3? A. By telling stories. B. By showing data. C. By giving examples. D. By making comparison. 6. Why do young people seek dazi instead of lasting friendship nowadays? A. Because they have no time to find real friends. B. Because their social circles are too small for them. C. Because dazi requires less responsibility and offers more freedom. D. Because dazi can give them a hand whenever they need help. 7. What will the author talk about next? A. How to turn dazi into real friends. B. What problems dazi circles may bring about. C. Whether this new relationship will last or not. D. Why so many people prefer forming dazi circles. 【答案】4. D 5. B 6. C 7. B 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍了当下流行的“搭子”社交的各种形式和产生这种现象的原因。 【4题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段中“Dazi now refers to a new kind of social connection with the aim of pursuing shared interests, rather than developing lasting friendships.(“搭子”现在指的是一种新的社会关系,其目的是追求共同的兴趣,而不是发展持久的友谊)”和后文内容可知,第一段以一个对话为引子,引出文本的主要内容,即“搭子”社交。故选D。 【5题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“Early last month, a study of 1,335 people conducted by China Youth Daily’s social survey center found that 72.6% said they had one or more dazi. More than half of them said they go for meals with a dazi, while over 30% seek dazi for sports, travel, learning and playing games. More than 20% have dazi for shopping or walking their children.(上个月初,《中国青年报》社会调查中心对1335人进行的一项调查发现,72.6%的人说他们有一个或多个“搭子”。超过一半的人说他们会和大子一起吃饭,而超过30%的人会为了运动、旅游、学习和玩游戏而找“搭子”。超过20%的人带着大子逛街或带孩子散步)”可知,作者采用列数据的方法说明了“搭子”社交目前非常流行。故选B。 【6题详解】 细节理解题。根据第五段中“With less responsibility and pressure, the two people concerned get along more easily. This is why young people these days are enthusiastic about forming dazi circles,(责任和压力少了,两个人相处起来就容易多了。这就是为什么现在的年轻人热衷于组建“搭子”圈)”可知,人们倾向于找“搭子”的原因在于,和传统的朋友关系相比,“搭子”对于责任要求较少,因而压力也较小,相处起来比较轻松。故选C。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“In this new kind of relationship, less responsibility gives people more freedom, but may also cause some problems. (在这种新的关系中,责任的减少给了人们更多的自由,但也可能导致一些问题)”可知,接下来作者可能会谈到“搭子”社交带来的问题。故选B。 C Whether you are traveling to a different country for business or study, you must always be prepared to experience and overcome cultural differences and language barriers. Here are a couple of tips on how to help bridge the gap between cultures. Every country in the world, old or new, has a rich and storied history. They celebrate their own holidays, cook national dishes, listen to their own styles of music and wear clothes appropriate for their culture. Take some time to learn the history, art and customs of the country you’ll be visiting. Showing your knowledge of the local customs and history will make those around you realize you truly care about their culture. Language are hard to master. You spent years in grade school learning all the grammar and intricacies (复杂) of English. Why not spend more time learning a whole new language — especially when so much of the world speak English already? Even if you can only recite a couple of key phrases, it shows that you’re making the effort to bridge the cultural gap. Unfortunately, no matter how much you research a country or how well you know the language, there will always be some culture shocks and confusion. Words, actions or gestures that are not offensive (冒犯的) to us can be very offensive to someone from another culture. When this occurs, it is important to stay patient. Working through these frustrations together will lead to a smarter and stronger bond between you and your friend from another culture. When I learn a new language, or study the history of a culture I’m unfamiliar with, I think of it as exploring a new world. There are so many things that make each culture unique. You have to be open to trying and learning new things in order to fit in well in another country. Always try to think about how they see things from their cultural perspective. All of this being said, there are so many similarities between people of all nations. We all laugh at the same physical comedy, groan when we have to clean up our pets’ messes and cry when we lose a loved one. After all, we are all humans. 8. What are you supposed to do to show your efforts to fit in? A. Develop an optimistic attitude. B. Do research into the new culture. C. Publicize its unique cultures. D. Clear all the barriers in the way. 9. What does the author think of culture shocks? A. Overwhelming. B. Abstract. C. Depressing. D. Unavoidable. 10. How does the author encourage us to be in paragraph 5? A. Open-minded. B. Suspicious. C. Ambitious. D. Insightful. 11. What is the most suitable title for the article? A. Participating in cultural communication. B. Stepping out of your comfort zone. C. Exposing yourself to different cultures. D. Bridging the Gap between Cultures. 【答案】8. B 9. D 10. A 11. D 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇说明文,文章主要介绍了克服文化差异的几条建议。 【8题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第二段“Take some time to learn the history, art and customs of the country you’ll be visiting. Showing your knowledge of the local customs and history will make those around you realize you truly care about their culture.(花点时间了解你要去的国家的历史、艺术和习俗。展示你对当地风俗和历史的了解会让你周围的人意识到你真的关心他们的文化)”可知,为了表明你融入新文化的努力,你应该对新的文化进行研究,故选B项。 【9题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章第四段“Unfortunately, no matter how much you research a country or how well you know the language, there will always be some culture shocks and confusion. (不幸地是,无论你对一个国家做了多少研究,或者你对这个国家的语言有多了解,总会有一些文化冲击和困惑)”可知,作者认为文化冲击是不可避免的,故选D项。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据第五段“You have to be open to trying and learning new things in order to fit in well in another country. Always try to think about how they see things from their cultural perspective.(为了适应另一个国家,你必须乐于尝试和学习新事物。总是试着从他们的文化角度去思考他们是如何看待事物的)”可知,作者鼓励我们要思想开放,故选A项。 【11题详解】 主旨大意题。文章第一段“Here are a couple of tips on how to help bridge the gap between cultures.(这里有一些关于如何帮助跨越文化差异的建议。)”提出话题——帮助跨越消除文化差异的建议,文章第二、三、四、五段依次提出了四条建议,最后一段对全文进行总结,纵观全文,文章都在围绕着如何帮助消除文化差异来展开,所以D项Bridging the Gap between Cultures(消除文化之间的差异)作为文章题目最为合适,故选D项。 D As new technologies take on increasingly humanlike qualities, there’s been a push to make them genderless. “People are stereotyping (形成刻板印象) their gendered objects in very traditional ways,” says Ashley Martin, a Stanford associate professor of organizational behavior. Removing gender from the picture altogether seems like a simple way to fix this. Yet as Martin has found in her work, gender is one of the fundamental ways people form connections with objects, particularly those designed with human characteristics. In her study, Martin asked participants to rate their attachment to male, female, and genderless versions of a digital voice assistant and a self-driving car known as “Miuu.” It was found that gender increased users’ feelings of attachment to these devices and their interest in purchasing them. For example, participants said they would be less likely to buy a genderless voice assistant than versions with male or female voices. While gendering a product may be good marketing, it may also strengthen outdated or harmful ideas about power and identity. The stereotypes commonly associated with men, such as competitiveness and dominance, are more valued than those associated with women. These qualities, in turn, are mapped onto products that have been assigned a gender. Martin’s study also found that creating a genderless object was difficult. For instance, if an object’s name was meant to sound genderless, like Miuu, participants would still assign a gender to it — they would assume Miuu was a “he” or “she.” Martin sees a silver lining, however: She believes that anthropomorphism (拟人化) “provides an opportunity to change stereotypes.” When women are put into positions of leadership like running companies, it reduces negative stereotypes about women. Similarly, anthropomorphized products could be created to take on stereotype-inconsistent roles — a male robot that assists with nursing or a female robot that helps do calculations, for instance. 12. What is the purpose of making new technologies genderless? A. To reduce stereotypes. B. To meet public demand. C. To cut production costs. D. To encourage competition. 13. What were the participants probably asked to do in the study? A. Design a product. B. Respond to a survey. C. Work as assistants. D. Take a language test. 14. Why is it difficult to create genderless objects? A. They cannot be mass-produced. B. Naming them is a challenging task. C. People assume they are unreliable. D. Gender is rooted in people’s mind. 15. What does the last paragraph mainly talk about? A. The quality of genderless products. B. The upside of gendering a product. C. The meaning of anthropomorphism. D. The stereotypes of men and women. 【答案】12. A 13. B 14. D 15. B 【解析】 【导语】本文为说明文。文章讲述了新技术呈现人类特质时人们试图使其去性别化,但性别是人们与物体建立联系的基本方式,且创造无性别物体很难,拟人化或能改变刻板印象。 【12题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段中“‘People are stereotyping (形成刻板印象) their gendered objects in very traditional ways,’ says Ashley Martin, a Stanford associate professor of organizational behavior. Removing gender from the picture altogether seems like a simple way to fix this. (斯坦福大学组织行为学副教授阿什利·马丁说:“人们以非常传统的方式对有性别的物品形成刻板印象。”完全去除物品的性别似乎是解决这个问题的简单方法)”可知,人们对有性别的物品存在刻板印象,让新技术无性别化的目的是减少这种刻板印象。故选A项。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“In her study, Martin asked participants to rate their attachment to male, female, and genderless versions of a digital voice assistant and a self driving car known as ‘Miuu.’ (在她的研究中,马丁让参与者对数字语音助手和名为‘Miuu’的自动驾驶汽车的男性、女性和无性别版本的喜爱程度进行评分)”可知,参与者被要求对不同版本的产品进行评价,这类似于对调查做出回应。故选B项。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“Martin’s study also found that creating a genderless object was difficult. For instance, if an object’s name was meant to sound genderless, like Miuu, participants would still assign a gender to it — they would assume Miuu was a ‘he’ or ‘she.’ (马丁的研究还发现,创造无性别对象很困难。例如,如果一个物品的名字听起来是无性别化的,比如Miuu,参与者仍然会给它赋予一个性别——他们会认为Miuu是‘他’或‘她’)”可知,因为性别观念根深蒂固在人们的脑海中,所以即使物品本身试图设计成无性别,人们还是会赋予其性别,这导致创造无性别对象很困难。故选D项。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。根据最后一段中“Martin sees a silver lining, however: She believes that anthropomorphism (拟人化) ‘provides an opportunity to change stereotypes.’ (然而,马丁看到了一线希望:她认为拟人化‘提供了改变刻板印象的机会’)”以及后文所举的例子可知,最后一段主要讲了赋予产品性别有积极的一面,即可以通过拟人化改变刻板印象。故选B项。 第二节 七选五 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 A heart-stopping rescue mission unfolded in Herber-Overgaard, Arizona, when a mare (母马) and her baby became trapped in a dangerously drying mud hole. ____16____ The rescue began with a call from a group of photographers who had been visiting the area to photograph the famous Heber Wild Horses. There was nothing to it. Jenna and Jeff knew exactly what to do. The big day came at last. The alarm rang at 6 a.m. The pair went down the stairs quietly to the kitchen. Jenna found the bread and put two slices into the egg mixture. Next, Jeff turned on the second stove burner to heat up the frying pan. Everything was going smoothly until Jeff started frying the bread. The pan was too hot and the bread turned black within seconds. Jenna threw the burnt piece into the sink and put in the other slice of bread. This time, she turned down the fire so it cooked nicely. Then Jeff noticed steam shooting out of the pot and the lid starting to shake. The next minute, the porridge boiled over and put out the fire. Jenna panicked. Thankfully, Jeff stayed calm and turned off the gas quickly. But the stove was a mess now. Jenna told Jeff to clean it up so they could continue to cook the rest of the porridge. The first public art project of its kind in the country, Riyadh Art, aims to transform the city into a gallery without walls through public art festivals and workshops. B At lunchtime recently, Sha Jinyuan, 22, sent a WeChat message to her meal partner, or fandazi, asking, “What to eat?” After her partner replied with “don’t know”, Sha said, “Let’s just go! C Whether you are traveling to a different country for business or study, you must always be prepared to experience and overcome cultural differences and language barriers. D As new technologies take on increasingly humanlike qualities, there’s been a push to make them genderless. 第二节 七选五 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 A heart-stopping rescue mission unfolded in Herber-Overgaard, Arizona, when a mare (母马) and her baby became trapped in a dangerously drying mud hole. They decided to boil the porridge first. They put some rice into a pot of water and left it to boil while they made the French toast. Jeff broke two eggs into a plate and added in some milk. But Jeff’s hand touched the hot burner and he gave a cry of pain. Jenna made him put his hand in cold water. Then she caught the smell of burning. Oh dear!
