(Saihanba, located in the far-northern part of Hebei Province, became a green miracle.)”;接着交代“大约在20世纪50年代末,在塞罕坝的任何地方你几乎看不到一棵树或一朵花(Around the late 1950s, you could hardly see a tree or a flower anywhere in Saihanba.)”,“1962年,当地政府决定把这片死寂的荒地变成一片森林,为完成这项任务,政府组织了369名护林员,他们大多二十多岁(In 1962, the local government decided to change this dead land into a forest. To carry out the task, the government organised a group of 369 foresters, mostly in their 20s.)”;随后引用第一代护林员赵振宇的话““一开始,我没有意识到工作条件会如此恶劣,天气会如此糟糕。”(At the very beginning, I did not realise that the working conditions would be so harsh and the weather so bad.)”,并说明“但他们从未放弃,护林员们坚持不懈,克服了这片土地带来的挑战,他们利用科学技术帮助树木在恶劣条件下存活(But they never gave up. The foresters carried on, overcoming the challenges of the land. They used science and technology to help trees to survive harsh conditions.)”;接着指出“塞罕坝人民用他们的心血和智慧努力了半个多世纪,塞罕坝精神激励着护林员们完成这项艰巨的任务(The Saihanba people worked hard with their hearts and minds for more than half a century. The Saihanba Spirit inspired the foresters to complete the difficult task.)”;结尾说明“塞罕坝现在是世界上最大的人工林,它在环境保护方面发挥着重要作用,人们可以在那里享受新鲜空气、聆听鸟儿鸣唱、欣赏美丽的风景(Saihanba is now the largest human-made forest in the world. It plays an important role in environmental protection. People can enjoy fresh air, birds singing, and beautiful scenery there.)”。本课核心词汇为 locate, hardly, wasteland, task, forester, harsh, overcome, challenge, survive, century, spirit, inspire 等;重点短语为 be located in, in the far-northern part of, around the late 1950s, hardly see, change...into..., carry out the task, a group of, mostly in their 20s, at the very beginning, never give up, carry on, overcome the challenges, use science and technology, survive harsh conditions, more than half a century, inspire sb. to do sth., complete the difficult task, play an important role in, enjoy fresh air and beautiful scenery 等;语言与语法重点为“动词不定式(短语)作目的状语(To carry out the task...;use science and technology to help trees survive)”、“过去分词短语作后置定语(located in the far-northern part of Hebei Province)”、“现在完成时与现在完成进行时(has become...; have been working...)”、“inspire sb. to do sth.

Read the passage and finish the tasks.
The green miracle
Saihanba, located in the far-northern part of Hebei Province, became a green miracle.
Around the late 1950s, you could hardly see a tree or a flower anywhere in Saihanba. In 1962, the local government decided to change this dead land into a forest. To carry out the task, the government organised a group of 369 foresters, mostly in their 20s.
“At the very beginning, I did not realise that the working conditions would be so harsh and the weather so bad,” said Zhao Zhenyu, one of the first-generation foresters. But they never gave up. The foresters carried on, overcoming the challenges of the land. They used science and technology to help trees to survive harsh conditions.
The Saihanba people worked hard with their hearts and minds for more than half a century. The Saihanba Spirit inspired the foresters to complete the difficult task.
Saihanba is now the largest human-made forest in the world. It plays an important role in environmental protection. People can enjoy fresh air, birds singing, and beautiful scenery there.

Around the late 1950s, people could hardly see a tree or a flower there. In 1962, the local government decided to change the dead land into a forest, and a group of 369 foresters were organised to carry out the task. The working conditions were harsh, but they never gave up. They overcame the challenges of the land and used science and technology to help trees survive. After more than half a century of hard work, Saihanba has become the largest human-made forest in the world. The Saihanba Spirit inspires us a lot. I think we should learn from the foresters and take action to protect our environment. Let's start with small things and make our earth greener. Thank you!
