The story of the computer
I choose “app” because we use many apps in daily life.
2. (1) Ada Lovelace;(2) Alan Turing;(3) a room;(4) faster and smaller;(5) connect to the internet / run different apps。
4. A。可引述的依据:a computer program could do a lot more。
5. Ada’s ideas;the Turing machine。
6. Some experts thought people would not want a computer at home. But the company sold thousands in two years. So a prediction can be wrong / needs to be checked against later evidence.
7. a—H;b—T;c—M。
8. China / Chinese researchers。例:The text describes early computers in England and Germany. It also introduces Zuchongzhi, built by Chinese researchers. These examples show contributions from different places.
The microprocessor
According to the textbook, Ted Hoff was the main inventor of the microprocessor in 1971. This small device was a major breakthrough. It helped computers and other electronic devices become faster and smaller. Compared with early computers that filled a room, smaller devices became much easier for people to use later.
In the future, computers may help us remember what to take to school. I think this because small devices can collect and share information.
