阅读下面短文,按照句子结构和上下文连贯的要求,从每题所给的四个选项中选出最佳选项。
Last Friday, our class visited 1 unusual museum of digital technology. A guide met 2 at the door and asked us to think about one question: What makes a device useful?
In the first room, we 3 a computer that filled a large table. Next to it was a tablet. The tablet was much 4 than the old machine. We then tried three reading devices. Mina thought the one with spoken instructions was 5 of the three for people with poor eyesight.
6 the new machines looked complicated, even the youngest visitors could use them after a short lesson. The guide also asked us to use them with care. A sign said, “You 7 take photographs of other visitors without asking.” Near the exit, a designer had built a talking button 8 visitors find their way. Only 9 students noticed the small button at first, but more tried it later.
On the way home, Mina said, “ 10 useful technology can be when its designers understand people!” I agreed. A machine does not have to be expensive to make a difference.

二、阅读(共两节,满分35分)
第一节 阅读理解(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下面三篇短文,从每题所给的四个选项中选出最佳选项。
(A)
① For the school film festival, Leo made a video about the bakery near his home. He recorded the bright shop window and the bread coming out of the oven. Then he added fast music, colourful titles and several special effects. He was certain that his two-minute film was ready.
② Before handing it in, Leo showed it to Aunt Lin, the baker. She watched quietly. “The pictures are beautiful,” she said, “but the film feels flat. Where are the people?” Leo looked at the screen again. He had shown almost every kind of bread, but hardly any of the work behind it.
③ He returned the next morning. His camera battery was nearly empty, so this time he had to choose carefully. Instead of filming the shop window again, he recorded Aunt Lin teaching a young worker to fold a piece of dough. The first try went wrong. She laughed, showed him again and waited while he tried once more. Leo kept the sound of their voices.
④ Back at home, he removed most of the music and effects. He put the short lesson at the centre of the film. When he played the new version at school, his classmates asked about Aunt Lin and the young worker. Nobody asked which editing app he had used. Leo smiled and closed the long list of effects on his screen.

① In 1991, researchers at the University of Cambridge shared a coffee machine. Some worked several floors away. They would walk to the coffee room, only to discover that the pot was empty. Two researchers, Quentin Stafford-Fraser and Paul Jardetzky, decided to solve this small but annoying problem.
② They pointed a camera at the pot and used computer programs to send pictures to screens inside the laboratory. The pictures were small, black and white, and updated about three times a minute. Their quality was poor, but they answered the important question: Was there any coffee? People could check before leaving their desks.
③ In 1993, other members of the team connected the system to the World Wide Web. Now people outside the laboratory could see the pot too. At a time when many web pages showed only still information, the changing picture offered a little window into a real place. People around the world became interested in a coffee pot they would never use.
④ The camera was switched off in 2001 when the laboratory moved. It had begun as a way to avoid wasted walks, rather than a plan for a world-famous invention. Its story is a reminder that new uses for technology can grow from ordinary needs. The problem did not have to be large for the idea to travel far.

A. A way to watch a real place from far away.
B. A new window built in the coffee room.
C. A small hole in a computer screen.
D. A page giving directions to Cambridge.
29. How is the passage mainly organised?

第二节 阅读填空(共5小题;每小题1分,满分5分)
阅读短文,从A—E中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,使文章连贯、完整。每个选项限用一次。
A friend sends you a picture of a flooded school with the message, “No classes tomorrow!” Before forwarding it, ask yourself: Do I know what the picture really shows? 36
First, look at where the picture came from. If an account gives no writer’s name or source, do not depend on it alone. 37 It may explain where the picture was taken and what actually happened.
Even a reliable account can repost an old picture. 38 A photo from five years ago may look as if it was taken this morning when its date is missing.
Next, compare the message with a school notice or another reliable report. If there is no news of a closure on the school’s own channel, do not tell your classmates to stay at home. 39
Finally, if you are still unsure, ask a teacher before passing the message on. You do not have to be the first person to share a story. 40
A. Try to find the original report.
B. Different reliable sources can help you check one story.
C. An exciting picture is not enough evidence.
D. Waiting for clear information is better than spreading a wrong message.
E. The date matters as well.
答案:36—40 ____________________

六、书面表达参考范文
Using the Internet Wisely
The internet has become part of my school life. I think it is useful when we use it for a clear purpose. For example, I can watch a science video again when I do not understand an experiment. However, messages and short videos sometimes take my attention away from homework. Last week, I spent half an hour watching them and finished my work late. To avoid this, I make a list of tasks before going online and turn off messages while studying. I also leave my phone outside the bedroom at night. The internet should help us learn, while enough sleep and face-to-face conversations still matter.
