My water-saving adventure
Last summer, I visited Singapore and saw something amazing. In Aunt Li's kitchen, a small blue device beeped suddenly.“Oh,our smart water meter(智能水表)is reminding us again!”she laughed, showing me her phone. The meter had sent a message:"You used 150 liters today-20 liters over the limit!"
“Why does it matter?” I asked. Aunt Li explained: "Every drop saved helps our city. These meters teach us to care." Her words made me think-could technology really change habits?
Then I met Aisha in Kenya. Her hands were dirty but her eyes sparkled as she showed me a rainwater filter(雨水过滤器)made from old bottles. "Before this, my sister got sick from dirty water," she said. Now,her village has clean water. A simple idea saved lives!
Even scientists are heroes! Dr. Cohen Israel took me to a solar-powered machine by the sea.“See?Sunlight cleans seawater here,” she said. I tasted the water-it was fresh, like tears of the earth, proving that simple ideas can solve big problems.
Water problems seem huge, but everyone can help. Fix leaks, reuse water, and believe in small actions. As Aisha said: "Little drops make an ocean."

A. Water shortages only happen in poor countries.
B. Everyone can help save water through small actions.
C. Scientists should solve all water problems.
D. Technology is useless in protecting water.
C. Choose the best answer and complete the passage.(选择最恰当的选项完成短文)(共7分)

D. Read the passage below and answer the following questions.(根据文章内容,回答下列问题)(共9分)(其中Task 1共5题,每题1分;Task2共1题,每题4分)
At Riverside Middle School, students used to think that saving water meant only turning off the tap. That changed when their science teacher, Ms Green, showed them a simple calculation. A tap that drips once every second can waste about 4.32 litres of water in one day. One dripping tap may not look serious, but a school with twenty such taps could waste more than 86 litres a day. T he students suddenly understood that small problems can become large ones when nobody acts.
The class then visited the Water Science Museum. They learned that about 97 percent of the Earth's water is salty. Most of the fresh water is locked up in ice or deep underground, and much of the fresh water that people can reach is polluted. The guide also explained that water is used indirectly to make many everyday products. It takes water to produce sugar. hamburgers, cotton shirts and shoes. Therefore, wasting food or clothes also means wasting water, even when we cannot see the water in these products.
After the visit, the students formed a Water Action Team. First, they checked every tap and made a list of repairs. They also put up signs reminding students to use only the water they need. In the school garden, they collected grey water from washing vegetables and used it to water flowers. At home, team members tried shorter showers, ran the dishwasher only when it was full and chose energy-saving washing machines.
Two months later, the school used about fifteen percent less water than before. More importantly, students began to change their habits. They talked with their families about indirect water footprints and encouraged local shops to reduce unnecessary packaging. The team leader, Kevin, said, “We cannot make more fresh water, but we can make better use of what we have. When everyone takes one small step, the result can be surprisingly large.”
Task 1:
68 What did Ms Green show the students?
69 Why did the students understand that small problems can become large ones?
70. What does “these products” refer to in Paragraph 2?
71. How did the students use grey water?
