My friend Aiden and his older brother, LeBron, took me on my first camping trip. They showed up with a truck filled with camping supplies. I did pack a backpack, as instructed, but I had no idea what would happen.
LeBron hurried me into getting into the truck and drove off and we got off at the beginning of a trail which became narrower and steeper as we walked, forcing me to focus on the task at hand and to talk less. As we got higher up, we moved above the tree line, and I could see the trail winding up the mountain. Loose rocks and tree roots made the trail dangerous. Finally, we reached the peak. My legs ached.
“No time to rest,” LeBron said, looking up at the sky. “The weather up here changes quickly, and the cool air means a storm is approaching. We need to set up camp.”
He and Aiden started to work expertly, while I stood around and pretended to help. Soon, they put up the tent. As the storm rolled in, we took cover inside. LeBron, sensing that I was scared of the lightning and thunder, shared some crackers and peanut butter and told stories about his camping adventures.
“This is just a typical summer storm—they're short-lived, but intense,” LeBron stated. “The campsite might get a bit muddy and misty, but what's the fun in camping if you can't get dirty? At least the rain will keep the bears away,” he said with a smile.
We exited the tent after the storm. I could see for miles, and the rain left a fresh scent of pine and an earthy smell of soil. As darkness set in, I was amazed at the countless stars in the night sky. I longed for a hot shower and a soft bed, but as I looked upward at the Milky Way, I knew that this was an adventure I would never forget.
4.What's a difficulty of the uphill climb?
A.Weather conditions. B.Wild animals.
C.The dangerous trail. D.Supply shortages.
5.What can be inferred about LeBron?
A.He was a seasoned camper. B.He pretended to be helpful.

6.What did they do in the tent?
A.They read storybooks. B.They had some snacks.
C.They tried to keep out water. D.They had fun playing with mud.
7.What happened in the end?
A.LeBron drove away the bear. B.The brothers got dirty and tired.
C.The author began to enjoy the experience. D.They found a shelter in a comfortable place.

make the most of... 故填the。
choose to do sth. 故填to land。

be bound for... 故填for。
故填is。
故填that。
