used to疑问句
Did+主语+use to do,疑问句中used要还原为use,这是最高频错点
22
take place /happen
有计划的社会变化用take place;两者均无被动语态,据此排除C、D
It is adj.of/for sb.to
23
kind描述人的品质→of;不定式才是真正主语→to make
do
24
devote...to...
to是介词,后接名词/代词/doing,.不是不定式
25
宾语从句语序
从句一律用陈述语序,据此排除B、C、D三个疑问语序选项
26
whether不可换if
介词about之后+or连接两个选项,两个条件同时满足,只能用whether
27
connect...with...
U3核心短语;compare with语义不符,provide with搭配不当
29
现在完成时vs一般过去时
over the past few years是现在完成时标志词,且强调"变化对现在的影响"
30
what引导表语从句
what在从句中作buy的宾语;that在表语从句中不充当成分
33
even though让步状语从

whether引导表语从句
The question is not whether..but whether.,前后对称结构
instead(副词,"而

与前句don'tsay构成取舍:不说记忆力差,而是说复习不够
上句"I haven't seen you all summer"+答句"I went back.."→锁定问去了

I used to think English was just another subject I had to pass. Then Miss Zhou came into my life.
Our village school stood at the foot of a hill. In the past, life there was quite different from what it is today — poor 31 , rough roads, and few chances to see the outside world. 32 , most families here thought a village girl would leave school early and work on the farm. I thought so, too.
Miss Zhou changed all that. In 2019 she gave up a well-paid job in Shanghai and returned to teach us. 33 she found only eight students waiting in her classroom, she never thought of giving up. Instead, she asked each of us to name one thing we were good at. When my turn came, I answered in a very low voice, "Nothing."
She smiled and said, "Everyone is born with something special. You just haven't found yours yet."
She 34 stay long after school to help whoever asked. Slowly I began to look forward to her lessons, not because they were easy, but because she made us believe our voices mattered. Villagers here say she has 35 our little school and deserves our respect.
It 36 time and courage to dream of a world beyond the mountains, but Miss Zhou has shown us the door. Now I keep a diary in English every evening. I write about my grandmother's stories and the great changes that have 37 place here year after year.
I often wonder 38 makes a person return to a poor village when she could live in a big city. Years later I finally understood: it was love. 39 poor the mountain was, love always found a way in.
Miss Zhou didn't just teach us English. She taught us how to see 40 — and that is a lesson I will carry for life.

Have you ever spent two hours learning thirty new English words, only to find you could remember just five of them the next morning? If so, don't be too angry with yourself. This is how our memory works.
Scientists say we forget about 70% of what we learn within twenty-four hours 41 we review it in time. But forgetting is not something we must 42 . Here are a few tips that really help.
First, study a little every day. Ten minutes a day works much better than three hours at weekends. The brain needs time to 43 what it has learned, and sleep does part of this work for you.
Second, don't let a new word stay 44 . Connect it with a picture, a story, or something you already know. Words that have friends are words you keep.
Third, use the word. Write a sentence with it, 45 teach it to a partner. Experts find that we remember what we use far better than what we only read.
46 , trust yourself. Everyone is born with the ability to learn. The question is not 47 you are clever enough, but whether you have found a method that 48 you.
So when you forget a word next time, don't say "I have a bad memory". Say 49 , "I just haven't reviewed it enough." Then do 50 about it — review it five minutes later, forty minutes later, and once again before you sleep.
41. A. unless B. if C. because D. when
42. A. forget B. remember C. refuse D. accept
43. A. collect B. store C. discover D. increase
44. A. alone B. lonely C. quiet D. silent

46. A. However B. Instead C. Besides D. Finally
47. A. that B. what C. whether D. why
48. A. fits B. loses C. changes D. needs
49. A. again B. instead C. aloud D. once
50. A. everything B. something C. anything D. nothing

F. It now takes her only twenty minutes by bus.

Li Hua: I went back to my hometown with my parents.
David: 52
Li Hua: It's a small town in the south of Anhui, near a river.
David: Has it changed a lot?
Li Hua: Yes, a lot! The roads used to be narrow and rough, but now wide roads run through the town, and people can even take the high-speed train nearby.
David: Sounds wonderful! 53
Li Hua: Well, many old houses have been repaired, and a beautiful new library has appeared by the river.
David: That's amazing. Life there must be much easier now.
Li Hua: Exactly. My grandmother used to spend half a day getting to the county town. 54

Erik Weihenmayer is blind. That has not stopped him from becoming one of the most inspiring climbers in the world.
Erik lost his sight completely by the age of thirteen. As a teenager, he often asked himself one question: "Can a blind person live a full life?" Instead of staying at home, he learned wrestling, took up rock climbing, and later became a teacher.
In 2001, Erik did something few people believed possible — he reached the top of Mount Qomolangma, the highest mountain on earth. Along the way he faced freezing winds, deep cracks in the ice, and thin air that made every step painful. He could not see the path. He had to feel it, step by step, with a long stick and with his own hands. It took great courage and endless patience. When people asked him how he managed, he simply said, "I just kept moving up."
Since then, Erik has climbed the highest mountains on six continents, written books and helped thousands of young people who face their own difficulties. He often tells them: "A barrier is not something that stops you; it is something you have not decided to go through yet."
Erik never says his life is harder than other people's. He says it is just different. And that, perhaps, is what makes him a true hero.
59. When did Erik lose his sight completely?
A. At the age of 13. B. At the age of 30. C. In 2001. D. In 2013.
60. What does the underlined word "it" in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. The wind. B. The path. C. The stick. D. The mountain.
61. What does the underlined word "barrier" in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A. A climbing tool. B. A famous mountain. C. A kind of sport.
D. Something that gets in your way.
62. Which of the following best describes Erik?
A. Lucky and rich. B. Brave and helpful.
C. Strict and quiet. D. Careful and shy.

Why can you remember the words of your favourite song, yet forget a new English word the next day? The answer lies in the two kinds of memory you own: short-term memory and long-term memory.
Short-term memory is like a small pocket. It holds information for a very short time — usually only a few seconds or minutes. Its space is limited, too. Scientists once believed we could keep about seven things in it at once, though newer research suggests the number may be closer to four. That is why remembering a long phone number in your head feels difficult: the pocket is simply too small, and the number drops out quickly.
Long-term memory is more like a huge library. Things here can stay for days, years, or even a lifetime. But getting a book into that library takes time and effort. Information must be reviewed, connected with what you already know, and used in real situations. Without these steps, most of what you learn never crosses the door.
The boundary between the two is not fixed. Repetition (重复) can push things from the small pocket into the library. Sleep also plays a part: while you rest, your brain quietly replays the day's learning and decides what is worth keeping. Stress (压力), on the other hand, works like an eraser. When students feel too nervous before an exam, even knowledge they know well may seem to disappear.
So when you forget something, it does not mean you are "bad at learning". It usually means the word never made the journey from the pocket to the library. And luckily, there is a clear way to help it get there.
63. According to newer research, how many things can short-term memory hold at once?
A. About seven. B. About four. C. About ten. D. About twenty.
64. What can we learn from Paragraph 4?
A. Stress helps us remember things better.
B. Repetition makes us forget things faster.
C. Sleep helps the brain decide what to keep.
D. The two kinds of memory never change.
65. Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. How to Sleep Well Before an Exam
B. The Story of a Forgetful Student
C. From the Pocket to the Library: How Memory Works
D. Why Music Is Easier to Remember than Words

Thirty years ago, Wangcun was a dying village in southern Anhui. Almost all its young people had left for the cities. Of the 300 people who remained, most were over sixty. Roofs fell in silently, and few visitors ever came.
Today, more than 2,000 tourists walk its stone streets every week. Old houses have been turned into small bookshops and teahouses; the same villagers who once wanted to leave now run guesthouses of their own. Great changes have taken place, and yet — surprisingly — the village still looks like itself.
This is perhaps the most remarkable part of what has happened in Anhui's old villages over the past ten years. For a long time, "development" seemed to mean knocking down the old and putting up something new and tall. Concrete (混凝土) stood for progress, while old wood stood for backwardness. The result was that many ancient villages lost the very things that made them worth visiting.
Wangcun chose another path. Repair workers were asked to keep the original walls, tiles and wooden structures wherever possible. New pipes and electric wires were hidden carefully so that the old look would not be broken. Even the new teahouses had to follow strict rules about colour and height.
▲ The repairers understood that a village is not only a group of buildings, but also the memory of the people who live there. Old doors were kept wide enough for neighbours to chat across the street, just as they had done for a hundred years.
The result is that the past and the present now stand side by side. Villagers enjoy running water and the internet while living in houses that are hundreds of years old.
Change, Wangcun seems to tell us, does not have to mean losing who you are. The world moves forward; but before we tear something old down, perhaps we should ask ourselves a simple question: once it is gone, what shall we show our children?
66. What was Wangcun like thirty years ago?
A. Young people were leaving and few tourists came.
B. It was already famous for its teahouses.
C. It had a population of over 2,000.
D. All the old houses had been rebuilt.
67. The underlined word "backwardness" in Paragraph 3 is closest in meaning to "________".
A. being old-fashioned and undeveloped
B. being modern and popular
C. being strong and lasting
D. being valuable to everyone
68. Which of the following can be put in " ▲ " in Paragraph 5?
A. Old villages are simply too expensive to repair.
B. What the repairers did was far more than fixing walls.
C. Tourists bring noise as well as money to the village.
D. Young people still refuse to stay in the countryside.
69. What is the writer's main purpose in writing this passage?
A. To introduce how to build modern houses.
B. To tell the long history of Anhui's cities.
C. To advise young people to return to their villages.
D. To show that real progress can keep the past alive.

Do you take notes by hand or with a keyboard? Many students prefer typing because it is faster. However, a new study suggests that writing by hand may be a better way to learn.
Scientists asked fifty university students to learn some new words. Half of them wrote the words down on paper, while the other half typed them on a computer. Both groups spent the same amount of time. Then the scientists checked how much they remembered.
The result was surprising. Students who wrote by hand remembered far more words than those who typed. Brain scans (扫描) explained why: when we write by hand, many parts of the brain work together — we see the letters, feel the pen moving, and control our fingers at the same time. This "extra work" helps the brain build stronger connections, which makes new knowledge easier to keep.
Typing, on the other hand, uses fewer senses. Fingers may move quickly on the keyboard, but the brain often works without really thinking. As one professor said, "When you type, you are just copying. When you write, you are learning."
Of course, this does not mean computers are bad. They are wonderful tools for sharing and searching. But when it comes to deep learning, the old pen still has its magic. So next time you learn new English words, put down the phone, pick up a pen, and let your brain do the extra work.
70. What did the fifty university students do in the study?
A. They learned some new words.
B. They wrote articles about learning.
C. They shared notes with each other.
D. They copied long word lists again and again.
71. What can we infer (推断) from the text?
A. Typing is a better way to learn new words.
B. Extra effort in learning helps us remember better.
C. Computers will soon replace pens in class.
D. Students should stop using keyboards at once.
72. What is the best title for the text?
A. The History of the Keyboard
B. New Ways to Use Computers
C. The Magic of Writing by Hand
D. How to Take Notes Fast in Class
第二节 阅读下面短文,并用英语回答问题(请注意每小题后面的词数要求。73—75 小题,每小题 2 分,满分 6 分)。
Why Do We Forget?
① Have you ever spent a whole evening learning thirty English words, only to find you could remember just five of them the next morning? If so, you have met "the forgetting curve".
② The German scientist Hermann Ebbinghaus discovered this curve in 1885. His experiments showed that without review, people forget about 40% of new information within the first twenty minutes, around 70% after twenty-four hours, and nearly 80% after a month.
③ The good news is that forgetting is not necessary. Each time you review, the curve becomes flatter. If you go over new words once before sleeping and again the next morning, most of them will still be with you days later. Experts call this "spaced review" — spreading your practice over several days instead of doing it all in one long sitting.
④ Reviewing alone, however, is not enough. Words you actively use — in a sentence, an email to a friend, or a short diary — stay much longer than words you only look at. It also helps to connect a new word with a picture or a feeling. Your brain remembers stories better than lists.
⑤ Finally, sleep is your quiet helper. While you sleep, your brain replays what you have learned and moves important information into long-term memory. This is why students who stay up all night before a test often remember less than those who sleep well.
73. When did Ebbinghaus discover the forgetting curve? (不超过 10 个词)(2 分)
74. Why is sleep important for memory? (不超过 10 个词)(2 分)
75. What will you do to remember English words better? (不超过 10 个词)(2 分)

her.
But in 2019,something surprising happened. She came back. She said the village needed teachers more
than the company needed her.Since then, she has taught English at our village school for six years.
I used to hate English.I thought it was useless for village kids.Miss Zhou never laughed at me.She told
us stories from the outside world and showed us that English could connect us with it.Slowly,I began to
change my mind. Now I read English stories every evening, and I even write short passages in English
about our village.

A:Good morning, everyone.Today I'm going to talk about how to improve your memory.
Let's start with some bad news.Scientists say we forget about seventy percent of what we learn within
twenty-four hours. That's why many of you feel worried:you spend hours learning new words, but soon
they are gone.
But there are ways to fight this. Here are three tips.
Tip one:review in time.Try to go over what you have learned once before you sleep.Remember,a review
of five minutes before bed is better than one hour at weekends.Sleep helps your brain keep things
longer.
Tip two:make connections.Don't repeat a word again and again like a machine.Connect it with a
picture,a story,or something you already know. When you learn the word "apple",picture a big red
apple on your desk.
Tip three:use it,or you'll lose it.Use each new word in your own sentences,or say it out loud with your
partner.Words you use are words you keep.
In short,a good memory is not a gift. It's a habit you build day by day.Start today, and your memory will
surprise you!
