A
In December 2025, Saihanba forest farm successfully passed a Forest Management Certification It acts as a “green pass”, helping Saihanba’s forest products enter global markets.
Located in Hebei Province, Saihanba has experienced an amazing change. By the late 1950s, centuries of overgrazing (过度放牧) and logging (伐木) had made it into a desert. With sandstorms threatening the capital and other northern cities, China decided to bring it back to life. Today, it is the world’s largest man‑made forest.
This success comes from the hard work of three generations (代) of foresters. In 1962, the first group of 369 foresters arrived there to plant trees, most of whom were in their 20s. “Working in the forest, you have to work hard no matter what the conditions are,” a worker said. Today, a new generation is taking on new challenges. They are using scientific methods to improve the forest. For example, they are planting mixed tree species to make the forest stronger against fire, pests (害虫) and climate change.
Over the years, these foresters have turned the desert into a green sea. The forest coverage (覆盖率) has increased from 11 percent to 82 percent. They also take pride in the “Saihanba Spirit”, which means remembering why they started, working hard and trying new things, and developing in a green way. In 2017, Saihanba won the UN’s highest environmental honour. Saihanba proves that strong will and science can turn poor land into green places. It sets a powerful example for green development, offering hope to China and other countries around the world.
21.What does the “green pass” help Saihanba's forest products do?
A.Reach global markets. B.Grow more green plants.
C.Improve scientific methods. D.Avoid the threat of sandstorms.
22.Why did China decide to bring Saihanba back to life?
A.Because many tourists wanted to visit it.
B.Because the forest coverage had dropped to 11%.
C.Because it was the world's largest man‑made forest.
D.Because sandstorms threatened the capital and other cities.
23.Why are foresters planting mixed tree species?
A.To attract more tourists. B.To make the forest stronger.
C.To reduce the cost of planting. D.To increase the production of trees.
24.How did the foresters feel about the “Saihanba Spirit”?
A.Interested. B.Proud. C.Doubtful. D.Terrible.
25.What is the passage mainly about?
A.The meaning of the Saihanba Spirit.
B.The ways to plant and protect a forest.
C.The successful change and example of Saihanba.
D.The process of getting an international forest certification.

Jane Goodall, a famous British scientist known for studying chimpanzees (黑猩猩), visited China from November to December 2024. She came to celebrate the 30th birthday of her environmental program, Roots & Shoots, in China. During her visit, Goodall shared many of her stories.
When Goodall was a child, she loved reading and exploring nature. Her mother always encouraged her to ask questions and learn more. Goodall dreamed of seeing animals in their natural homes.
In 1957, at age 23, Jane traveled to Kenya, Africa. There, she met the famous scientist Louis Leakey, who needed someone to study chimpanzees to understand human history. He believed Jane was perfect for the job.
In 1960, Jane began working in Tanzania’s Gombe Forest. At first, chimpanzees were afraid of her. She spent months quietly watching them until they trusted her. She gave each chimp a name instead of using numbers and discovered they had feelings and families, just like humans.
In October 1960, Goodall made an amazing discovery. She saw two chimpanzees using tools to get food. Before this, people thought only humans used tools. This discovery showed that chimpanzees are intelligent and social animals.
Jane spent her life protecting animals and the environment. She started the Jane Goodall Institute in 1977. In 1991, she set up Roots & Shoots program, which came to China in 1994, to encourage young people to take action to help the Earth.
“If we all do our part to help, the world will be a better place,” she said.

后文提到“He set a good example for them(他为孩子们树立好榜样)”,对应教育子女,educated符合语境。
后文提到“Never stop learning(永远不要停止学习)”,是鼓励直面困境,be afraid of符合语境。pay attention to“关注”、deal with“处理”、get in the way of“阻碍”逻辑不通。
anywhere、go after personal dreams说明人生选择、机遇很多;changes“改变”、courses“课程”、celebrations“庆典”不符合文意。
鲁迅以笔为武器救国,始终坚持创作;put up“张贴”、set up“建立”、ended up“最终”语义不通。
固定搭配be proud of为……
56.nearly 57.literature 58.hardest 59.wrote 60.musician 61.listening 62.her 63.return 64.admirable 65.centuries
固定搭配have the chance to do sth.,to后使用动词原形,return意为“返回”,符合语境。
66.have 67.was 68.an 69.as 70.to
the key to意为“……
71.I’ve just got a signed photo of an astronaut!/I just received a signed photo of Wang Yaping! 72.Wang Yaping, of course!/It’s Wang Yaping. She is amazing! 73.Why do you admire her?/What makes her so special to you? 74.What difficulties did she have to face?/Was her training very hard? 75.Has she inspired you to do something?/Do you want to be an astronaut too?
下文王涛提到一个宇航员的签名照,直接提示李明得到了航天员的签名照片,故可填“I’ve just got a signed photo of an astronaut!”或“I just received a signed photo of Wang Yaping!”。
或“It’s Wang Yaping. She is amazing!”。
或“What makes her so special to you?”。
或“Was her training very hard?”。

My Inspiring Role Model
My inspiring role model is Zhang Guimei, a great teacher.
She is kind-hearted and persistent. She founded the first free high school for girls from poor families. Even though she met lots of difficulties, she never gave up her dream. She devoted all her time to helping poor girls get education. Thousands of girls’ dreams were realized because of her efforts.
Her story truly inspires me. I learn that persistence and kindness are very important. I will face difficulties bravely, study hard and try my best to become a helpful person in the future.
