Grammar
Comparative and superlative adverbs
例如:hard → harder → hardest;high → higher → highest。
例如:quickly → more quickly → the most quickly;carefully → more carefully → most carefully。
例如:well → better → best;badly → worse → worst;far → further/farther → furthest/farthest。
Amy reads faster than Sandy.
Millie reads (the) fastest among the three.
Reflexive pronouns
Suzy enjoys teaching herself paper-cutting.
I painted the room myself.
by oneself = alone(独自):learn by yourself
enjoy oneself = have fun(玩得开心)
teach oneself = learn... by oneself(自学)
(×Myself can finish it. √ I can finish it myself.)
Language Points
1. Amy reads 35 pages in one hour. She reads faster than Sandy.
比较级后常接than引出比较对象,最高级前通常加the(副词最高级前的the可省略)。
She speaks more clearly than her brother.
2. My friend Suzy is interested in art, and she enjoys teaching herself paper-cutting.
He finished the project by himself.
