(二)阅读下列短文,根据短文内容,从短文后各题所给的 A、B、C、D四个选项中,选择最佳选项。 B Dr. Jane Goodall was a famous animal expert and environmental protector. As a little girl, she loved animals deeply. She often spent hours watching birds and small insects in her garden. This hobby later became her life’s work. When she was 26, she went to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. At that time, she had no university science degree (学位) , but she started an important study of chimpanzees there. This study lasted for over 60 years. Goodall made amazing discoveries there. She was the first person to see chimpanzees use tools—like using sticks to get ants to eat. Before that, people thought only humans could make and use tools. This finding changed the study of primates (灵长类动物) forever. She also found that chimpanzees live in groups with close relationships, have strong family bonds, and feel emotions like happiness, sadness, and anger—just like us humans. Besides her scientific work, Goodall became a global leader in protecting the environment. In 1977, she set up the Jane Goodall Institute. This group works to protect chimpanzee habitats and teach people about environmental protection. She traveled around the world, gave speeches, and inspired millions of people—especially young people-to help the Earth. In 1991, she started a program called Roots & Shoots that helps kids and teenagers do activities to protect animals, people, and the environment, creating a new generation of environmental protectors. Goodall faced many difficulties in her career. She saw chimpanzee homes being destroyed by tree-cutting and illegal (非法的) hunting. But she never gave up. Her patience, kindness and effort made her loved all over the world. She even became a UN Messenger of Peace for her great work. Jane Goodall’s life teaches us important lessons about courage and curiosity. Though she is no longer with us, her work and words will live on. Every time we learn about chimpanzees, every time we do something to protect the environment, we are remembering her. She was not just a scientist; she was a friend to chimpanzees, a hero for nature, and an inspiration to everyone. 24. What was Jane Goodall’s important discovery about chimpanzees? A. They can speak human language. B. They use tools. C. They live alone. D. They don’t have emotions. 25. Which program did Jane Goodall start in 1991? A. Gombe Stream Research B. UN Messenger of Peace C. Roots & Shoots D. Jane Goodall Institute 26. What is the main idea of the passage? A. The life and work of Jane Goodall. B. How Jane Goodall studied chimpanzees in Tanzania. C. The importance of environmental protection. D. The history of the Jane Goodall Institute and its programs. 27. According to the passage, what can we learn from Jane Goodall’s life? A. You need to be a genius to make a difference. B. You need many degrees to succeed. C. Love, curiosity and courage are enough to make a difference. D. Only scientists can protect animals. C Today we can do everything with apps: pay bills, order food and shop for anything. Mobile technology means we can hold the world in our hands. However, when it comes to technology and health care, opportunities (机遇) and risks come together. Let’s start with the ways to get health care. techno-health (远程医疗) can allow a patient to use technology to see the doctor online and get a diagnosis (诊断) and medical advice without leaving home. Also, there are many patient websites. These allow for different kinds of communication about our health needs without talking to the medical team. Setting a date with doctors and reading lab results are readily achieved by technology. A whole new age of medical care seems likely to come in the future. But every coin has two sides. What might be on the other side of techno-health care? Firstly, we should think about the health care experience as a whole. A usual visit to a doctor begins with a receptionist (接待员) , who can see and tell how a patient is doing, This may influence the quality of care. It’s unlikely that a patient website will have such intuition. For example, a receptionist might notice if a patient looks not well or sounds worried, and can quickly tell a doctor. Next, sharing the details of one’s life needs trust, which takes time to build. This is certainly true in health care, where we share some of life’s best and worst moments with doctors. The human touch should not be undervalued and is unlikely to be there over the smartphone. Lastly, test results can be difficult to understand. When someone without a medical degree sees a flagged result with no explanation on the website, there’s room for all kinds of stories to form in their minds— and also great worry. So how does medicine adapt (适应) to the new technology age? Very smart companies are working on it. There is medical equipment (设备) that can be used at home to send necessary health information and heart sounds through techno-health. It seems likely that some companies will find a way to explain test results. But what it will not achieve is the warmth of human connection and touch. Patients often need someone to listen to and care about their journey story, which will never be realized through a human-less technology. Technology should be a tool, but depending on it totally will most certainly have unexpected effects. Let’s not allow the loss of humanity (人性) to be one of them. 28. According to the passage, how does technology help health care? A. It encourages doctors to voice their needs on the websites. B. It offers the patient a convenient way to get a diagnosis. C. It improves relations between doctors and patients. D. It provides an opportunity to build a medical team. 29. The word “intuition” in Paragraph 5 probably means ________. A. an ability to understand B. an interesting experience C. a chance to win D. a fair decision 30. What do you know about techno-health care from the passage? A. Patient websites require trust from doctors. B. Talented companies can give medical advice. C. Flagged results may cause worry for patients. D. Medical equipment collects patients’ stories. 31. The writer probably agrees that ________. A. technology can deal with unexpected effects B. techno-health can take the place of usual health care C. it is difficult for patients to adapt to the new technology age D. techno-health care should consider humanity 六、(共8分,每小题2分) 阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。 Imagine walking into a school where AI chatbots answer your questions, magnetic (磁吸的) maps on walls teach geography, and 5G networks make research faster than ever. This is no longer science fiction— it’s the reality of smart campuses in China and worldwide. One example is a school in Tianjin. It uses a smart campus system made by a tech company. In class, students get hands-on experience by using simulation (模拟) tools and VR glasses. They can explore how rockets are launched and structure inside the rockets through fun and interactive (互动的) learning. Similarly, in swimming classes, “By wearing smart earphones, they can receive real-time instructions from the coach underwater. This keeps them safe.” said Li Rui, the school’s principal. At a school in Anhui, technology is improving PE classes. Self-testing tools with AI visual analysis (可视化分析) technology are used for activities like running, jumping, sit-ups, and skipping rope. A facial recognition system records students’ faces, allowing them to receive performance results immediately after each exercise. “Before, when I threw the shot put (铅球) , the teacher had to use a ruler to measure the distance. Now, the results are produced automatically (自动地) . You can also see which parts of your exercise need improvement, with the teacher then helping to guide you to make those improvements,” said a student from the school. Besides China, smart campus technologies are gaining popularity. In Canada, a school built the first 5G-powered smart campus, allowing researchers to test cutting-edge software. Meanwhile, a college from the UK introduced an AI assistant that helps students check class schedules or get answers at once. It provides students with information about attendance records, courses, and class timetables, making it easier for students to manage their school lives. And a university in Australia uses an app, allowing students to visualize the human heart in 3D, which helps students understand the heart’s different parts and blood flow. Making school life simpler and more convenient is becoming a reality with the use of technology all over the world. 32. What technology does the school in Tianjin use from the tech company? _____________________________________________________________ 33. When can students at the school in Anhui receive performance results in PE classes? _____________________________________________________________ 34. Has that type of car just become popular in your city? Were they there before? Or are you just going crazy? You’re not going crazy. The reason you are now just noticing them is what psychologists (心理学家) call “priming”. Actually, the cars were always there. You just didn’t recognize them. However, when that certain model of car becomes part of your conscious thinking (意识思维) , you start noticing all of the other cars that are the same, because you are already “primed” to do so. The priming effect takes many forms. In one study, students were asked to walk around a room for 5 minutes at a rate of 30 steps per minute, which was about one-third their normal pace. After this short experience, the students were much quicker to recognize words related to old age, such as forgetful, old, and lonely. Reciprocal (相互的) priming effects are likely to produce a reasonable reaction: if you are primed to think of old age, you are likely to act old, and acting old would reinforce (加强) the thought of old age. This research shows that the way we think influences the way we act, and the way we act influences the way we think. A similar conclusion was reached by the American psychologist William James a century ago, but he stressed the effect on feeling. “Actions seem to follow feeling, but really actions and feeling go together; and by controlling the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly manage the feeling, which is not. So the path to cheerfulness is to sit up cheerfully and to act and speak as if cheerfulness were already there.” So, that’s it. If you want to be happy, just sit up and act happy. Based on these scientific findings, we can use certain priming effects to help make ourselves happier. One thing we have in common is our ability to think and feel. Pleasant thoughts are believed to produce the chemicals that make us feel happy, especially thoughts and feelings of gratitude (感恩). When we purposefully go through and think about the things we’re grateful for and feel as much gratitude as we can, we are flooding our mind with the “happy chemicals”. Besides, by thinking, feeling and expressing gratitude, we will not only be happier in the moment, we will be “primed” to recognize the things in our life to appreciate (感恩) . Each time this happens, the “happy chemicals” will be produced. Do this every day and we will become consistently happier. This makes up for the momentary (短暂的) happiness we gain from eating chocolate or buying new clothes. More than that, combining thoughts of gratitude with happy acts like smiling and laughing will have an even stronger positive effect on our state of mind. 48. Which of the following is an example of the priming effect? A. Walking much faster after listening to a speech about old age. B. Eating chocolate when feeling sad. C. Appreciating life more after showing gratitude to the people in our life. D. Learning about different types of cars after buying the first car. 49. What will the author probably agree with? A. Eating or shopping leads to long lasting feelings of happiness. B. Our will has greater control over emotions than over actions. C. Happy chemicals make us think about the things we’re thankful for. D. Practicing gratitude prepares us for long-term happiness. 50. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage? A. Prime Yourself to Be Happier B. Share Happiness to Enhance Well-being C. Why Gratitude Is Important in Psychology D. A. technology can deal with unexpected effects B. techno-health can take the place of usual health care C. it is difficult for patients to adapt to the new technology age D. techno-health care should consider humanity 【答案】28. B 29. A 30. C 31. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇议论文,探讨了远程医疗(techno-health care)带来的便利与存在的问题,既介绍了科技为医疗健康提供的便捷服务,也指出了远程医疗缺少人性关怀等局限。 【28题详解】 文中第二段提到“techno-health (远程医疗) can allow a patient to use technology to see the doctor online and get a diagnosis (诊断) and medical advice without leaving home”,说明科技为患者提供了便捷的诊断方式,对应选项B;A、C、D均与原文表述不符。 【29题详解】 根据后文例子“a receptionist might notice if a patient looks not well or sounds worried, and can quickly tell a doctor”,能看出接待员有感知患者状态的能力,因此“intuition”在这里的意思是理解、感知的能力,对应选项A。 【30题详解】 文中第七段提到“When someone without a medical degree sees a flagged result with no explanation on the website, there’s room for all kinds of stories to form in their minds—and also great worry”,说明标记的检查结果可能会让患者产生担忧,对应选项C;A、B、D均不符合原文内容。 【31题详解】 文章最后一段提到“Technology should be a tool, but depending on it totally will most certainly have unexpected effects. 32. C.
