When you speak English, you may want to sound more like a real English speaker. So how can you make your speech sound more natural?
First of all, you need to learn grammar. If your grammar is wrong, it can be hard for people to understand you.
But this doesn’t mean you have to speak like someone in a book! In fact, sometimes you should do the opposite! People who speak English every day often talk in a more relaxed way. For example, they use contractions. A contraction is formed when you put two words together, like “can’t” instead of “cannot”, or “won’t” instead of “will not”. They also say things like “gonna” for “going to” and “gotta” for “get to”. These words sound more natural when people speak, but we don’t usually write them.
People also use filler words. These are words like “um”, “so” or “you know”. They help fill the space while you think about what to say next. For example, someone might say. “So, I was thinking. um…Are you doing anything later?” It’s really important to use filler words—but not too often!
And while you might have learned in school to answer a question in full sentences, it’s not something you need to do when talking with friends. It’s okay to give short answers.
Of course, learning to speak naturally takes time. A great way to learn is by listening to people who speak English, like in movies or on the internet. Try to copy how they talk. Just keep practicing—you’ll get better every day!
( ) 27. Which of the following is a contraction?
A. Gonna. B. Um. C. Cannot. D. So.

A. To fill the space while they think about what to say next.
B. To make their sentences sound more polite.
C. To show they are interested in what others say.
D.To tell others they feel relaxed when talking with them.
( ) 29. Which of the following will the writer probably agree with?
A. Use filler words as often as possible when speaking.
B. Answer questions in full sentences all the time when speaking.
C. Always speak like someone in a book to make yourself understood.

( ) 30. What is the writer trying to do in the text?

Today, more and more students are using the App Zuoyebang. However, different people have different ideas about it. Some people think it’s useful. The App Zuoyebang can help students to solve difficulties in their studying in time. It is convenient. What’s more, they can have a better command of knowledge by watching teacher’s video over and over again.
However, others don’t think so. They think some students just pretend to study. In fact they play games. They don’t want to think independently, but only copy the answers. They don’t care about their studying at all. It’s a waste of time.
As far as I’m concerned, this App is good for students who are hard-working. They can study better. But for students who don’t want to study, it’s very bad.
