Many teenagers hide their true feelings in daily life. They do not want others to know they are suffering from stress. In a middle‑school survey, over half of the teenagers choose to keep their worries to themselves.
In the past, teenagers could share their feelings with family members or close friends around them. But now many teens spend plenty of time on online social platforms. Bright online posts often make them feel that all their classmates are living a happy life. They fear that if they show their sadness or stress, they will become strange in others’ eyes. So lots of teenagers bury bad feelings deep inside.
However, keeping worries inside is harmful. Stress will build up little by little. That is why school workers encourage teenagers to look for proper ways to express themselves. After class, school counsellors are ready for face‑to‑face talks. Students can also leave messages on the school hotline. Instead of forcing themselves to stay cheerful all the time, teenagers can accept that feeling upset is quite normal.
Some local middle schools have started special sharing activities. In late autumn, students write down their worries on paper notes. If they find one note, they read it and write warm words on it. Then they put it back into the sharing box. In this way, teenagers can feel they are not alone when facing troubles.

②Students put notes back into the sharing box.
③Students pick up one note and read its content.
④Students write warm words on the note they read.
A.①②③④ B.①③④② C.③④①② D.④③①②
17.What can we learn from the last two paragraphs?

Young people in China are showing off their style with fun bag charms (包挂). These small decorations hang from backpacks and swing as people walk. They help young people show who they are and create a new way of emotional (情感的) connection.
There are all kinds of these bag charms. Some are soft, plush toys, while others get ideas from traditional Chinese culture or museum pieces. For example, Xi’an Momo Dolls and Sanxingdui’s Bronze Mask series reimagine traditional elements (元素) into new forms. These China—chic” designs turn bag charms into cultural bridges between the past and present.
These charms offer more than just a decorative touch; they play a key role in breaking the ice among strangers. A shared charm can help people connect with just a smile. As the Chinese New Year came near, Vicky, who lives in Nanjing, bought clothes not just for her family, but for her charms.”I match charms to my mood and clothes,” she explains. “Sometimes they feel like emotional codes—shared understanding brings quick connections at once.”
The charms have become popular because of the new and better ways of making them in places like Guangdong. Dongguan, known as the “designer toy capital”, has thousands of factories using smart technology to create new designs quickly. Today, these charms are reshaping the international image of “Made in China” by telling stories based on local creativity. These small items are building emotional ties with customers around the world and showing special Eastern beauty.
A Grade—10 student from Nanjing shared her thoughts. “Every time I see the same charm on a stranger’s backpack, it feels like discovering a tiny bridge linking two unknown hearts.” Dr Zhang, a teacher from Guangdong University of Finance & Economics, also put forward his view.”If fashionable small goods rush into teenagers’ daily life endlessly, will the nice glow of such lovely accessories (配饰) finally change into meaningless desire (渴求)?”

The contest was open to eighth and ninth graders. And the top prize was fifty dollars. Wilson was immediately interested. “I could do really well in that contest,” he thought.

Teenagers often experience ups and downs in emotions. Sometimes negative (消极的) emotions from present schoolwork and worries about the future are with us.
26 They even influence a person’s confidence greatly and make it hard to realize dreams. For example, people who think “I can’t do this” or “I doubt my skills” may fail to finish their tasks. This is one reason why it’s important to know some negative emotions and find ways that change them for the better.
27 Sometimes they can be so sudden and powerful that it’s hard to know exactly what you’re experiencing. The best way is to stop for a short time and think for a moment when you notice yourself feeling unhappy. Try to name what emotion it is and say to yourself, “I feel angry, sad, or worried.” 28
If you’re unhappy but aren’t quite sure why, it can help to talk to someone you trust, like a close friend or family members who can keep a secret. 29
If you have much difficulty talking about your feelings or you think people cannot understand you, keep a diary, draw or paint, or do something else that helps you get through hard times. 30 If you spend time finding out more about your feelings, you will become skilled at solving the emotional problems as they come up.
A.It takes practice to know about emotions.
B.Talking things over can also help deal with your feelings.
C.Devoting yourself to something positive can help lift your mood.
D.You should always believe yourself when you want to give up.
E.By doing this, you will be able to know your emotions better and understand your problems more clearly.
F.When negative thoughts and feelings appear, they may be harmful to many parts of life.
G.Anyway, expressing your feelings in a proper way instead of hiding them deep in your heart is a good choice!

此处使用结构give sb. sth. to do,故填入keep的不定式结构to keep。
根据“may fail from time to time”和“learn from failure and mistakes and try again”可知前后是转折逻辑,用并列连词but。
此处使用搭配be good at doing sth.,意为“擅长做某事”,故填入介词at。
此处使用搭配at the same time,意为“与此同时”,故填入定冠词the。

At Sunshine Middle School, a new programme called “Teen Talk” has become very popular among students. The programme started last September and is held every Thursday afternoon. It offers students a safe place to talk about their problems and get advice from trained teachers and older students.
In the programme, students can join small group discussions or talk one-on-one with a teacher. The topics include school stress, family problems, friendship troubles and body changes. “I used to keep everything to myself,” said Li Hua, a Grade 9 student. “But in Teen Talk, I learned that sharing my feelings is not a sign of weakness.

Today, these charms are reshaping the international image of “Made in China” by telling stories based on local creativity. These small items are building emotional ties with customers around the world and showing special Eastern beauty.

The seventh graders’ School Day was over. Wilson was filling his backpack when an announcement about the All‑City Maths Contest came out of the loudspeaker. The contest was open to eighth and ninth graders. And the top prize was fifty dollars. Wilson was immediately interested. “I could do really well in that contest,” he thought.
Excitedly, Wilson went to speak to his teacher, Ms Jones. “I want to take part in that maths contest, Ms Jones,” he said.
