Lightning: The Robot — That Broke the Human Record
On April 19, 2026, an amazing event took place in Beijing: the Half Marathon. This year was special because it included humanoid (人形) robots. People from over 100 teams joined the race to see if machines could beat humans. At 7:30 a.m., the race began in a lively and cheerful atmosphere.
There were two types of teams: those controlled remotely and those that moved autonomously using self-navigation To make the competition fair, the organizers used different “weighted coefficients (加权系数)” to calculate the final scores. Since autonomous robots had to “think” and find the way by themselves, their difficulty was higher. Therefore, their scores were multiplied by 1.2, while the remote-controlled ones were multiplied by 1.0. This made sure that the smartest robots got the credit they deserved.
The star of the day was a robot named “Lightning,” developed by the company Honor. Lightning was exceptionally fast. From the start, it took the lead and maintained it throughout. However, the race was not without challenges. Near the end, Lightning suddenly hit a barricade and fell. Luckily, the staff quickly fixed the problem. Lightning got back up, kept running, and finally crossed the finish line. The results were shocking. Lightning finished the race in only 50 minutes and 26 seconds. This broke the human world record of 57 minutes and 20 seconds!
Last year, robots could only perform some simple tasks. After one year of effort, robots have become faster and stronger than ever. It was a day that proved the future of technology is already here!

Therefore, their scores were multiplied by 1.2, while the remote-controlled ones were multiplied by 1.0.

Even though Oedel is still healthy and strong, he won’t change ___20___(he)mind of giving up skiing.
11.Recently 12.activities 13.a 14.of 15.decision 16.biggest 17.started 18.to believe 19.because 20.his
故填a。
分析句子可知,“the picture”和“the couple”构成所属关系,需填入介词“of”。故填of。
根据“for the first time”以及“fell ”可知,此处描述的是过去发生的事情,应用一般过去时,“start”的过去式为“started”。故填started。
“it’s hard to do sth.” 故填to believe。
故填because。
故填his。
