五、任务型阅读
请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题
As teenagers, we spend much time with our parents. To understand them better, we should know about different kinds of parents and learn how to get along with them.
Democratic (民主的) parents ask for our opinions and let us help decide things, making us feel like we are part of the decision-making process.
Friend-like parents are not very strict and treat us like friends because they want us to feel comfortable.
Authoritative (权威的) parents make clear rules but also listen to what we think and feel.
Authoritarian (专制的) parents give orders or make rules without explaining the reasons, which can make us feel angry or upset.
Some of us think we have trouble getting on with authoritarian parents. They can sometimes make us feel bad. We may feel our opinions do not matter as their rules seem too strict and unfair. This can cause us to argue with or feel far away from them. We may not want to follow the rules because we don’t understand the reasons behind them.
We can deal with authoritarian parents by staying calm and asking why the rules are made. It is important to talk to parents about how we feel. Even if we do not always like their rules, showing honour to them can help us build a good relationship with our parents. It’s also helpful to express our feelings clearly and politely.
Lisa, aged 14
There are too many rules in my home. At first, they made me feel full of stress and I didn’t understand why I had to follow them. Later my mum explained clearly why these rules were important. Now I realize that she just wants to keep me safe. I understand our family rules more.
All in all, understanding how parents behave and learning to communicate with them help us grow and build better relationships. By communicating well, we can also learn from their experiences and become more responsible.
46.What do authoritative parents do?
47.Why do authoritarian parents sometimes make us feel bad?
48.How can we deal with authoritarian parents? (One way is OK)
