21. As I walked past the music room, I heard several students ________ a folk song.
A. practise
B. practised
C. practising
D. to practise
hear sb. do sth.
22. By the time we reached the station, the last bus ________.
A. leaves
B. had left
C. has left
D. was leaving
23. It was ________ interesting book that Mia finished it in one evening.
A. so
B. so an
C. such
D. such an
24. The lights are on and I can hear voices inside. Someone ________ be in the classroom.
A. must
B. may
C. can’t
D. should
【答案】A
may be表示可能,语气较弱;can’t be表示“不可能在”,与证据矛盾;should be多表示按道理应当在。
25. Leo was nervous at first, but now he is used to ________ in front of the class.
A. speak
B. spoke
C. speaking
D. be spoken
【答案】C
【考点】used to结构辨析
【解析】be used to doing sth. used to do表示过去常常做某事,be used to do表示被用来做某事,均不符合句意。
26. Neither the guide nor the visitors ________ sure why the hall was closed.
A. is
B. was
C. has
D. were
27. Could you tell me ________? The notice only says it will be on Friday.
A. why was the meeting moved
B. why the meeting was moved
C. when was the meeting moved
D. when the meeting moved
28. When visiting an old town, Nora prefers ________ to taking a bus.
A. walking
B. walk
C. to walk
D. walked
【答案】A
【解析】prefer doing A to doing B意为“比起做B更喜欢做A”。
29. ________ the heavy rain, the outdoor concert continued as planned.
A. Because
B. Although
C. Because of
D. Despite
30. The words on the map were ________ for Grandpa to read without his glasses.
A. enough clear
B. so clearly
C. too small
D. small enough
too+形容词+for sb.+to do表示“对某人来说太……
31. —Could I keep this book for another week? —________. Another reader has already reserved it.
A. Take your time
B. That’s a good idea
C. I’m afraid not
D. It doesn’t matter
Take your time表示“不着急”,It doesn’t matter用于回应道歉,均不符合借阅情境。
32. —Sorry, the tomato soup is sold out. Would you like the mushroom soup instead? —________. I’ll try that.
A. Yes, please
B. Not at all
C. Never mind
D. No, I couldn’t
【答案】A
Yes, please。Not at all常回应感谢,Never mind常回应道歉或表示不介意,No与后面的肯定选择相矛盾。
33. —I can’t find my phone anywhere. —________. Let’s ask at the lost-and-found office first.
A. You did well
B. It sounds easy
C. That’s impossible
D. Don’t worry
You did well用于表扬,It sounds easy与丢失物品无关,That’s impossible会加重焦虑。
34. —Would you like to visit the photo exhibition with me on Saturday? —________, but I have a swimming competition that day.
A. I don’t agree
B. I’d love to
C. You’re welcome
D. That’s right
I’d love to, but...
35. —These shoes are a little tight. Could I try a larger size? —________. I’ll get one for you.
A. You’d better not
B. I’m not sure
C. Certainly
D. That’s enough
You’d better not表示劝阻,I’m not sure语气犹豫,均与明确的行动I’ll get one for you不一致。
36. —Do you know why tonight’s show has been put off? —________. One of the actors couldn’t arrive because of the storm.
A. Yes, I do
B. No problem
C. Have a nice time
D. That depends
【答案】A
Yes, I do。No problem用于回应请求或感谢,Have a nice time表示祝愿,That depends表示视情况而定,均不能引出确定原因。
37. —We’re meeting at the school gate at nine, aren’t we? —________. The notice says the sports center entrance.
A. Exactly
B. Either is fine
C. I hope so
D. Not quite
38. —Would you mind turning the video down? People are studying here. —________. I didn’t notice it was so loud.
A. No, you can’t
B. Sorry about that
C. It’s up to you
D. You must be joking
No, you can’t错误地拒绝对方,It’s up to you表示由你决定,You must be joking语气不礼貌。
39. —Congratulations on winning the community service award! —________. Everyone on our team helped a lot.
A. Thank you
B. What a pity
C. No hurry
D. Good luck
【答案】A
What a pity表示遗憾,Good luck用于事情发生前的祝愿,均不适用。
40. —The trip has been moved from Saturday to Sunday because of the rain. —________. I’ll change my plan.
A. What a surprise
B. I can’t believe it
C. That’s fine with me
D. You should hurry
I’ll change my plan表明说话人理解并接受改期,因此That’s fine with me意为“我没问题”,最符合语境。

F. We should wear the same costumes.
G. How about Friday after school?
B 42. E 43. A 44. G 45. D
42. 答语列举了thin card、sticks和a white cloth三种材料,说明空处在询问制作皮影人物需要什么,E项中的What do we need与答语直接对应。
If we move it farther away形成跨句衔接。
Everyone will be free then中的then也回指该时间。

B. describe
C. contact
D. follow
59. A. lent
B. offered
C. shown
D. returned
60. A. patience
B. honesty
C. interest
D. humor
51. B 52. D 53. A 54. C 55. A 56. D 57. A 58. C 59. D 60. B
根据a black bag fall from a passing motorcycle可知,杨轩突然“注意到”一个黑包从经过的摩托车上掉落。
52. catch up with sb. catch on意为理解或流行,catch away、catch out均不符合本句搭配。
54. cash是不可数名词,表示“一大笔现金”应用a large amount of cash。
57. make the decision to do sth. make a mistake表示犯错,make a promise后通常接承诺内容,make a difference意为产生影响。
return sth. to sb.
A
Glass walls can make a building look bright and modern, but they may create a hidden danger for birds. Birds often fail to see clear glass. They may also mistake reflections of trees and sky for real open space and fly straight into a window.
At a glass building in Shenzhen, workers placed small dot patterns on the outside of several windows. The dots are close enough for birds to notice, while people inside can still see through the glass. In this way, the surface becomes more visible to birds, helping them recognize that there is something in their path.
Researchers checked the area before and after the dots were added. They found fewer signs of bird strikes near the treated windows. However, they also warned that no single method works equally well everywhere. The result can depend on where a building stands, what plants grow nearby and which kinds of birds pass through the area. The dots reduce the risk, but they do not remove it completely.
Light is another part of the problem. During migration, bright buildings at night can draw birds away from their normal routes. Turning off unnecessary lights, especially late at night, may help them continue in the right direction. Bird-friendly glass and careful lighting can work together.
The Shenzhen project has encouraged more building managers and residents to pay attention to bird strikes. Simple changes may not solve every problem, but they can make busy cities safer for wildlife.
61. Why do birds sometimes fly into glass?
A. They are searching for food indoors.
B. They mistake reflections for open space.
C. They cannot fly above tall buildings.
D. They want to rest near bright rooms.
62. What does the word “visible” in paragraph 2 probably mean?
A. Safe to touch.
B. Easy to clean.
C. Hard to break.
D. Able to be seen.
63. How do the dots help birds?
A. They help birds recognize the glass surface.
B. They provide birds with a place to land.
C. They make the windows warmer in winter.
D. They guide birds toward food inside.
64. Why can’t the dots be said to solve the problem completely?
A. They disappear whenever it rains.
B. They can only be used on small houses.
C. Their effect changes with the place and bird species.

65. Which is the best title for the passage?
A. Why Birds Choose to Live in Cities
B. Small Changes That Help Prevent Bird Strikes
C. How Shenzhen Builds Glass Offices

B 62. D 63. A 64. C 65. B
B项用mistake...for...
A项recognize the glass surface是对原文recognize that there is something in their path的概括,并非原词复现。
B
At Liangzhu Museum in Zhejiang, technology is helping visitors understand objects made thousands of years ago. Some displays offer augmented reality, or AR, glasses. When visitors look at an ancient tool through the glasses, they can see a digital scene showing how people may once have used it. The object remains safely in its case, but its story becomes easier to imagine.
People who cannot travel to the museum can explore parts of it online. A virtual tour allows them to move through exhibition rooms, look closely at selected objects and read short explanations. It does not replace seeing the real objects, but it opens the museum to a wider audience.
Digital tools also work behind the scenes. A monitoring center records temperature and humidity around the site and inside exhibition areas. It also follows visitor numbers in different places. If any figure exceeds the safe limits, the system sends a warning so workers can respond quickly. For example, they may guide visitors to another area or check equipment that controls the indoor environment.
These uses of technology serve two connected goals. AR and virtual tours make the culture more understandable and easier to reach. At the same time, real-time information helps staff protect the site and the objects. Managers still make the final decisions, but the data allows them to notice changes earlier.
For Liangzhu, digital technology is not simply an attractive addition. It is a practical way to balance public access with careful protection of cultural heritage.
66. What can visitors see through the AR glasses?
A. The future design of the museum.
B. A list of all visitors that day.
C. A scene of how an object may have been used.
D. The place where every object was discovered.
67. What is one purpose of the virtual tour?
A. To let distant people explore the exhibitions.
B. To stop visitors from seeing real objects.
C. To sell ancient tools through the website.
D. To train workers to repair the building.
68. What does “exceeds the safe limits” mean in paragraph 3?
A. Returns to the normal level.
B. Is recorded for the first time.
C. Changes more slowly than expected.
D. Goes beyond the acceptable range.
69. Why does the center follow visitor numbers in different areas?
A. To decide which objects should be sold.
B. To support both safe management and visitor flow.
C. To compare the ages of museum visitors.
D. To replace workers with an automatic system.
70. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Online tours are better than real museums.
B. Ancient objects should be kept away from the public.
C. Technology improves access while helping protect Liangzhu.
D. AR glasses are mainly used to control temperature.
C 67. A 68. D 69. B 70. C
C项以a scene of how...
C
A recent sleep report looked at the habits of students, office workers and retired people. Across all groups, the average amount of sleep was less than seven hours a night. However, the kind of sleep problem people reported often changed with age.
Many younger participants said they went to bed later than they had planned. Students were especially likely to use smartphones shortly before sleep. Some middle-aged office workers fell asleep quickly but woke during the night, often thinking about unfinished tasks. Retired people usually went to bed earlier, yet some woke very early and could not fall asleep again.
The report also compared sleep with daily habits. People who exercised regularly were more likely to describe their sleep as good. Those who spent a long time on their phones before bed often slept later and for a shorter time. Heavy drinking was also linked with poorer sleep. These patterns appeared in several groups, although the strength of each link was different.
The researchers stressed that correlation does not prove a single cause. For example, phone use may delay sleep, but someone who cannot sleep might also pick up a phone. Stress, noise, health and daily schedules can all affect rest. Therefore, one habit should not be treated as the only explanation.
The report suggests making small, realistic changes: exercise regularly, keep a fairly steady bedtime and reduce long periods of phone use before sleep. Such steps may improve sleep, even though no one method will work for everyone.
71. Who took part in the sleep report?
A. Students, office workers and retired people.
B. Only teenagers from large cities.
C. Doctors and patients in one hospital.
D. Parents with very young children.
72. Which group was especially likely to use phones before sleep?
A. Retired people.
B. Middle-aged visitors.
C. Sports coaches.
D. Students.
73. What does “correlation” mean in paragraph 4?
A. A rule that never changes.
B. A connection between two things.
C. The only cause of a problem.
D. A method of collecting names.
74. Which statement is supported by information from two parts of the passage?
A. Everyone who exercises sleeps more than eight hours.
B. Retired people use phones more than students do.
C. Regular exercise is linked with better sleep, while long phone use is linked with later sleep.
D. Heavy drinking is the only reason office workers wake at night.
75. Which advice agrees best with the report?
A. Exercise and limit long phone use before bedtime.
B. Change the bedtime completely every day.
C. Stay in bed with a phone until sleep comes.
D. Use one method because it works for everyone.
71. A 72. D 73. B 74. C 75. A
第一段直接列出调查对象为students、office workers和retired people,A项完整对应。
第二段说明students were especially likely to use smartphones shortly before sleep,因此选D。
A walking bus is not a vehicle. It is a group of children walking to school together along a planned route. Two or more adults usually lead and follow the group. Like a real bus, it has fixed “stops” where children join at an agreed time.
Before a route begins, parents and organizers check the safest streets and choose places where the group can cross carefully. Children are expected to stay with the group and follow the adults’ instructions. The adults may wear bright vests so drivers can see them more easily. Parents remain responsible for bringing younger children to the correct stop on time.
Walking buses can add regular exercise to the school day. Children also have time to talk with neighbors and classmates before lessons begin. When more families choose walking instead of driving, fewer cars arrive at the school gate at the same time. This may make the area less crowded and safer for everyone.
However, a walking bus needs good organization. Bad weather may cause a route to be canceled, and enough adult volunteers must be available each day. Some groups prepare a list of replacement volunteers. Others run only on certain mornings when more adults are free.
Schools and families can adjust the idea to local needs. The important points are a clear route, reliable adult support and safety rules understood by every child. Regular communication with parents also helps the group deal with changes calmly.
76. A walking bus is a small vehicle used to carry children.
77. Adults usually walk with the children in the group.
78. Children may leave the planned route whenever they wish.
79. Every volunteer receives a fixed amount of money.
80. Walking buses may reduce the number of cars near the school gate.
F 77. T 78. F 79. N 80. T
In Dingxi, Gansu province, Qi Hui works with colors taken from nature. She learned traditional hand-dyeing from her grandmother, who showed her how plants could leave lasting colors on cloth. As a child, Qi watched each step; later, she began recording the methods herself.
To make a color, Qi boils herbs and other plant materials in water. The cloth is then placed in the liquid, sometimes more than once. Temperature, the strength of the liquid and dyeing time all influence the final result. Even one extra minute may make a color darker or change its tone. For this reason, Qi observes the cloth closely instead of depending only on a clock.
The work requires patience. Natural materials do not always produce exactly the same shade, so experience is important. Qi sees these small differences as part of the craft’s beauty. She also studies old color patterns and tests how they can fit modern daily life.
Qi later opened a studio. Besides traditional cloth, her team makes handbags, scarves and other useful objects. Simple modern shapes allow the natural colors to stand out. The products have attracted people who did not know much about plant dyeing before.
Her studio also offers free training to local women. They can learn the main steps, practise at the studio and earn money by completing suitable work at home. Qi hopes that modern products and wider community participation will give the old skill a living future.

A
Glass walls can make a building look bright and modern, but they may create a hidden danger for birds.
D. Their color is disliked by most residents.
65. Which is the best title for the passage?
A. Why Birds Choose to Live in Cities
B. Small Changes That Help Prevent Bird Strikes
C. How Shenzhen Builds Glass Offices
D. A New Way to Study Night Lights
