Passage C
Wang Xueru was twenty-two when she became a volunteer Chinese teacher at Mengla No. 1 High School in Yunnan. She had joined volunteer activities since her first year at university, but this job brought a new feeling.
One day, Wang felt unwell during class. A student quietly brought her a warm patch and a small note. The note said, “If the sky is cloudy, I will be your sunshine.” Wang was moved by the simple gift. She understood that the students were also caring for her.
Before going to Mengla, Wang had organised online reading lessons and cultural activities. She enjoyed meeting people and sharing Chinese language and culture. Each year, about forty or fifty people apply for the teaching project, but only twenty-one are chosen.
The work was not always easy. Wang lived far from home and prepared lessons carefully. She also needed time to understand what different students needed. Still, she believed the experience was valuable.
Wang said that when teachers give care, students may answer with care. The note made her remember why she wanted to volunteer. It encouraged her to continue helping other people. For Wang, the classroom became a place where the teacher and students learned how kindness could travel from one person to another.

Ⅴ. 阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。(38—42题,每题4分,共20分)
Near the source of the Hanjiang River in Ningqiang county, volunteers often pick up rubbish left by visitors.
Ma Lijun’s photography group formed a volunteer team in 2017. Members use a WeChat group to choose a meeting time, then walk along the river together.
Some local people protect the river every day. Zhang Jirong checks it in the morning and evening. His grandfather, Zhang Banggui, began walking five kilometres beside the river and collecting rubbish in 2003. He continued until he died in 2018.
The older man’s action encouraged more villagers to join. Retired residents and students also became riverkeepers. They collect waste and remind visitors to keep the area clean.
The work has brought change. In the past two years, volunteers have found less rubbish near the river. Local people now care more about protecting the environment. The riverkeepers believe that small daily actions can keep water clean and help people understand why river matters. Service brings neighbours together.
