(i)选择题(阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。共10小题,每小题4分,共40分)
Passage A
On June 25, the return capsule of China’s Chang’e 6 robotic probe touched down in Siziwang Banner in north China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, bringing back the world’s first samples collected from the far side of the moon. It was another remarkable achievement in the country’s space exploration.
The Chang’e 6 mission lasted 53 days. A Long March 5 heavy-lift rocket carried the probe into space from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province. After reaching the moon, the probe landed on the far side, the little-known hemisphere of our celestial neighbor, and collected 1,935.3 grams of lunar samples. This was the world’s first attempt to retrieve samples from the moon’s far side.
According to the China National Space Administration, the samples are of high scientific value. The far side of the moon is believed to be very different from the side we can see, and scientists say the samples may help them understand the early history of the moon and the solar system. Early research shows that the lunar samples from the far side are thicker and stickier than those collected before.
The far side of the moon has always been a difficult place to work. Because this side never faces the Earth, direct communication with the probe is impossible. To solve this problem, China sent a relay satellite named Queqiao into space to pass signals between the probe and the ground. The success of the mission proves that this plan works well.
China’s lunar exploration program has made steady progress over the years. Since the Chang’e 1 mission in 2007, Chinese scientists have carried out a series of lunar missions step by step. Officials say the samples will be shared with scientists around the world, and future missions will continue to explore the moon and beyond.
Looking ahead, China plans to build an international lunar research station near the moon’s south pole by 2035. The experience and technology gained from the Chang’e 6 mission will provide valuable support for these plans. With each step forward, China is turning its long-held dream of exploring the moon into reality, and the far side of the moon will no longer be a mysterious place to human beings.

Passage B
The Yangtze finless porpoise, the only freshwater porpoise species in China’s longest river, has made a heartening comeback in recent years. According to a 2025 survey, the population of this endangered animal has risen to 1,426, an increase of 177 individuals compared with the previous assessment in 2022.
The recovery is regarded as an important sign of the improving health of the Yangtze River ecosystem. From 1,012 porpoises in 2017, the number increased to 1,249 in 2022, marking the first rebound since scientists began monitoring the species. Experts say such a rise is extremely rare, because freshwater cetacean populations are usually hard to recover once they begin to decline.
What has made this difference? The key is the fishing ban in the Yangtze River, which took effect at the beginning of 2021. By stopping overfishing and protecting the river’s natural food chain, the ban has given the porpoises a better chance to survive and breed. Conservation efforts, including the establishment of nature reserves, have also played an important role.
The finless porpoise is often called the “smiling angel” of the Yangtze because of its friendly face. As a flagship species, its living condition directly reflects the health of the whole river. In recent years, sightings of the animals have become increasingly common in sections of the river near big cities such as Wuhan and Nanjing, a scene that was almost unheard of in the past.
Researchers point out that the recovery does not mean the work is done. The porpoise is still listed as an endangered species, and the protection of its living environment must continue. The long-term goal is to create a balanced ecosystem in which the “smiling angel” can live safely and freely for generations to come.
Scientists have also been working hard to protect this lovely animal. In some places, trained teams patrol the river to rescue porpoises that get trapped or injured. Researchers use cameras and underwater listening devices to watch the animals and learn more about their habits and needs. Besides, the government has set up many nature reserves along the river, where fishing is completely forbidden and the water is kept clean. All these efforts together give the “smiling angel” a brighter future.
46. What is the passage mainly about?
A. The recovery of the Yangtze finless porpoise population.
B. The dangers of fishing in the Yangtze River.
C. How to train porpoises.
D. The long history of the Yangtze River.
47. How many finless porpoises were there according to the 2025 survey?

Staying Safe in the Swimming Pool
A public swimming pool can be great fun, but it is important to follow a few safety rules so that everyone can enjoy their swim safely. Before you go, remember to bring your own swimsuit, swimming cap and towel. First of all, children under seven years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who should stay within arm’s reach of the child at all times.
Before entering the pool, everyone should take a shower with soap. This simple step helps keep the water clean for all swimmers. Visitors are also advised to consult a doctor before swimming if they have heart disease, diabetes or other health problems.
Safety in and around the pool is everyone’s duty. Walk, don’t run, on the pool deck, because the floor is often slippery when wet. Never dive into the shallow area, and do not push others into the water or play dangerous games.
Food and drink are not allowed in the pool area. If you see an emergency, tell a lifeguard immediately and follow their instructions. The lifeguards are trained to help you, so always listen to them and follow their guidance.

Passage D
On clear, dark nights near the North or South Pole, you may be lucky enough to see one of the most beautiful sights in nature: the aurora, also known as the northern lights in the northern hemisphere and the southern lights in the southern hemisphere. Colorful curtains of light dance across the night sky, glowing in shades of green, pink and purple.
What causes this amazing light show? The sun is constantly sending out a stream of charged particles called the solar wind. When these particles reach the Earth, most of them are blocked by our planet’s magnetic field. However, near the poles, some of the particles are guided along the magnetic field lines down into the upper atmosphere.
There, the particles collide with gases such as oxygen and nitrogen. These collisions give energy to the atoms, and when the atoms return to their normal state, they release this energy as light. Different gases create different colors: oxygen produces green and red light, while nitrogen produces blue and purple light. This is why auroras can show so many colors.
Auroras are not just beautiful; they also tell us about space weather. Solar storms, such as coronal mass ejections, can send much more energy toward the Earth, making the auroras brighter and allowing them to be seen at lower latitudes. Sometimes, strong auroras can even be observed in areas far away from the polar regions.
If you want to see an aurora, the best time is during winter, when the nights are long and dark, and the skies are often clear. Traveling to places near the poles, such as northern Norway or Iceland, gives you a much better chance of witnessing this natural wonder.
Long before scientists explained auroras, people told many stories about them. Some believed the lights were spirits dancing in the sky, while others took them as signs of good luck. Today, although we know the scientific truth, the aurora still fills people with wonder, and every year thousands of travelers make long journeys to the polar areas just to see it with their own eyes.
56. What is the aurora in the southern hemisphere called?
57. What does the sun constantly send out according to the passage?
58. Why do auroras have different colors?
59. What happens when the particles collide with gases in the atmosphere?

Ⅲ 阅读理解(本大题分为选择题、判断题及简答题三部分,共95分)
41. What did the Chang’e 6 probe bring back to Earth?
A. Rocks from Mars.
B. Samples from the far side of the moon.
C. Water from space.
D. Old satellites.
42. How many grams of lunar samples did Chang’e 6 collect?
A. 1,935.3 grams.
B. 1,935.3 kilograms.
C. 970 grams.
D. 53 grams.
43. Where did the return capsule of Chang’e 6 land?
A. In Hainan province.
B. In Beijing.
C. In Inner Mongolia.
D. In Shanghai.
44. Why are the far-side samples considered valuable?
A. Because they are very heavy.
B. Because they are the same as the near-side ones.
C. Because they are easy to collect.
D. Because they may reveal the early history of the moon.
45. What can we infer from the passage?
A. China will stop exploring the moon.
B. China’s space technology keeps improving.
C. The moon has no water at all.
D. Chang’e 6 landed on Mars.
A. 1,012.
B. 1,249.
C. 1,426.
D. 177.
48. The underlined word “rebound” in Paragraph 2 probably means ______.
A. 下降
B. 消失
C. 迁徙

49. What has mainly helped the porpoise population grow?
A. More fishing activities.
B. The fishing ban and conservation efforts.
C. More tourists along the river.
D. The building of new dams.
50. What can we infer from the passage?
A. The ecosystem of the Yangtze River is improving.

Passage C
51. Swimmers should take a shower before entering the pool.
52. Children under seven can swim alone in the pool without any adult.
53. Visitors with health problems are advised to consult a doctor first.
