My aunt faithfully held the back of the bike, and I pushed down on the pedals, ___21___ the handlebars as I tried to keep my balance. For a few seconds, I enjoyed wobbly ___22___. But then, in an instant, the bike and I would fall onto the soft grass together.

Ⅲ 阅读理解(本大题分为选择题、判断题及简答题三部分,共95分)
(i)选择题(阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。共10小题,每小题4分,共40分)
Passage A
More than 60 percent of primary and secondary school students in China have used artificial intelligence (AI), and nearly one in five use it regularly, according to a recently released nationwide survey.
The survey, carried out by the China Youth and Children Research Center, covered more than 8,500 students from seven regions, including Beijing and Guangdong. Among them, 71 percent said they use AI to finish homework. More than 40 percent use AI to learn about culture or for creative purposes, such as writing poems. Over 35 percent chat with AI or share their feelings with it, while about 32 percent use it for fun.
Sun Hongyan, a researcher who led the team, said the rapid spread of AI among young people even surprised her. “Just a few years ago, less than 20 percent of students had used AI,” she recalled.
The survey also found differences between city and countryside. Rural students were more likely to use AI to finish homework, and even to write papers for them, but less likely to use it in creative ways. “Rural students lack proper guidance from parents, and the absence of parental company makes them more likely to depend on AI,” Sun said.
If left unaddressed, Sun warned, AI could become an “amplifier” of the gap between urban and rural education. However, with professional guidance, AI could act as a “booster” — bringing quality educational resources and personalized tutoring to students who otherwise lack access.
The survey also found that about one in five students wanted to depend on AI for thinking instead of using their own minds, and 21 percent reported feeling anxious from using AI too much. Schools have begun to guide students on how to use AI properly, encouraging them to review difficult problems rather than simply copy AI answers.
41. What does the survey show about students’ use of AI?
A. Less than 20 percent have used AI.
B. Most students use AI to finish homework.
C. Rural students never use AI.
D. Students use AI only for fun.
42. Why are rural students more likely to depend on AI?
A. Their parents cannot guide them properly.
B. They enjoy chatting with AI.
C. Their teachers ask them to do so.
D. They have fewer creative ideas.
43. The underlined word “amplifier” in Paragraph 5 is closest in meaning to ___.
A. a tool that repairs machines
B. a person who teaches well
C. a thing that makes something bigger
D. a place for storing books
44. What did the survey say about students’ feelings?
A. All students felt happy about AI.
B. No students chatted with AI.
C. Students felt bored with AI.
D. About 21 percent felt anxious from using AI too much.
45. What is the best title for this passage?
A. Students and AI: A Survey
B. AI in Daily Life
C. The History of AI
D. How to Make AI
Passage B
Walk into almost any shop in China today, and you will probably see customers paying with their phones instead of cash. According to a report, about 14 percent of people in China do not carry any cash when they go out, and another 26 percent carry less than 100 yuan. About 74 percent said they could live for over a month with only 100 yuan in their pockets.
The report also found that 84 percent of Chinese people said they felt “comfortable” going out with only mobile phones and no cash. Mobile payment has truly changed the way people shop. In Beijing, even elderly people buy vegetables at the market with their phones; office workers pick up shared bicycles after scanning QR codes; and street artists provide QR codes for donations.
According to the China Payment and Clearing Association, non-bank payment organizations handled a total of 97 billion mobile payment transactions from 2013 to 2016, with an annual compound growth rate of over 195 percent. WeChat Pay, a major mobile payment method for daily small transactions, has over 900 million active users per month.
As the first country in the world to use paper money, China is expected to also become the first to stop using it, thanks to the growing popularity of mobile payment platforms. More and more people believe that mobile payment is quicker and easier than cash — you do not need to count change or worry about losing your wallet.
However, some people still prefer cash. They worry about phone safety, such as the risk of losing their phones or being cheated online. Experts suggest that users should protect their passwords and check their payment records regularly.
46. According to the report, how many people carry no cash when going out?
A. About 26 percent.
B. About 74 percent.
C. About 84 percent.
D. About 14 percent.
47. What does “comfortable” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A. Feeling tired of using phones.
B. Feeling at ease with only a phone.
C. Being unwilling to pay.
D. Being afraid of losing money.
48. How many mobile payment transactions were there from 2013 to 2016?
A. 97 billion.
B. 900 million.
C. 14 billion.
D. 100 yuan.
49. Why is China expected to become the first country to stop using paper money?
A. Because paper money is no longer printed.
B. Because mobile payment is very popular.
C. Because people dislike paper money.
D. Because banks refuse cash.
50. Which of the following is true about mobile payment?
A. It makes shopping slower.
B. It is only used by young people.
C. It is quicker and easier than cash.

(iii)简答题(根据短文回答问题。共5小题,每小题6分,共30分)
Passage D
On a warm spring morning, Laura, a British student studying in Beijing, bought breakfast at a street stall with her mobile phone. “It’s much better than what we use in England,” she said with a smile. Like Laura, more and more people in China are enjoying the convenience of a cashless life.
In China, cashless payment usually means paying with smartphones. WeChat Pay and Alipay are the two most popular services. People simply scan a QR code with their phones and the money is paid in seconds. Almost every taxi driver in Beijing uses WeChat Pay, and even senior citizens buy vegetables at the community market with their smartphones.
Mobile payment makes daily life much easier. Whether it is making an appointment to see a doctor, ordering take-away food, or buying a film ticket at home, people can do it all on their phones. “It saves a lot of time and helps us avoid counterfeit money,” said Ren Tingting, a cashier at a supermarket in Beijing.
By the end of 2016, Alipay’s e-payment services had covered 357 cities across China. People use mobile payment to pay for bus fares, train tickets, hospital bills and even breakfast at local stalls. Going cashless has become a normal part of daily life around the country.
However, not everyone feels completely safe. Some people worry that their personal information may be leaked, while others are afraid they cannot pay if their phone battery dies or there is no network. Still, for most people, the trend towards a cashless society seems irresistible.
56. What are the two most popular mobile payment services in China?
57. How do people usually pay with their phones?
58. Why does mobile payment “save a lot of time” for cashier Ren Tingting?

My aunt faithfully held the back of the bike, and I pushed down on the pedals, ___21___ the handlebars as I tried to keep my balance. For a few seconds, I enjoyed wobbly ___22___. She never scolded me for ___25___. “You are doing well,” she would say with a smile. Encouraged by her words, I got on the bike again and ___26___ once more.
Days passed, and at last I felt the ___27___ of riding on my own. I could balance effortlessly and turn the pedals to ___28___ myself forward. My bike became my ticket to ___29___. These little missions ___31___ me to be independent and won me trust and ___32___ from my family.
I also rode across town to my best friends’ houses, with the wind in my hair and a wave to my ___33___ along the way. I felt myself moving under my own power. It was a ___34___ that helped build my confidence and probably shaped who I was.
Years later, I have come to see that learning to ride a bike is more than a skill.

C. a thing that makes something bigger
D. a place for storing books
44. What did the survey say about students’ feelings?
A. All students felt happy about AI.
B. No students chatted with AI.
C. Students felt bored with AI.
D. About 21 percent felt anxious from using AI too much.

B. Feeling at ease with only a phone.

A. 97 billion.
B. 900 million.
C. 14 billion.
D. 100 yuan.
49. Why is China expected to become the first country to stop using paper money?
A. Because paper money is no longer printed.
B. Because mobile payment is very popular.

D. Because banks refuse cash.
50. Which of the following is true about mobile payment?
A. It makes shopping slower.

由第二段 “WeChat Pay and Alipay are the two most popular services” 定位。
57. 由第二段 “People simply scan a QR code with their phones” 定位。
58. 由第三段 “It saves a lot of time and helps us avoid counterfeit money” 定位,省钱省时还能避免假币。
