【答案】D
【解析】
【详解】句意:这个古代的金面具保存得如此好,以致于看起来像新的一样。
考查形容词原级。as many as和……一样多;as much as差不多,和……一样多;as well as也,又,和,和……一样;as good as几乎,实际上,无异。根据“it looks…new”可知,此处应是用as good as表示“几乎,实际上”,表示“新”的程度。故选D。

【答案】C
【解析】
【详解】句意:旅行时,我爸爸更喜欢乘坐公共交通,因为他喜欢看风景,但我妈妈更愿意开车,以获得更多自由。
考查动词用法辨析。would rather意为“宁愿、更愿意”,常见用法为would rather do sth.“宁愿做某事”;“prefer”意为“更喜欢”,常见用法为prefer to do sth.“更喜欢做某事”。第一空后接名词“the public transport”,根据后半句“because he enjoys watching the scenery,”可知,此处强调“宁愿选择公共交通”,需用would rather,后接动词原形;第二空后为to drive,符合“prefer to do sth.”的结构,因此用prefers。故选C。
3. China has the world’s largest number of university graduates, so providing them with jobs is really a ________ for the Chinese government.
A. purpose B. competition C. situation D. challenge
【答案】D
【解析】

【答案】B
【解析】
【详解】句意:等了好几个小时后,乘客们想知道火车是否很快就会到达,或者他们是否应该另寻其他方式去旅行。
考查宾语从句。that引导宾语从句时无实义;if/whether引导宾语从句时,意思是“是否”,if一般不与or(not)连用;whether可与or(not)连用。根据“the passengers wondered...the train...soon or if they should find another way to travel.”可知,乘客们想知道火车是否很快就会到达,所以第一空应用whether来引导宾语从句;由“wondered”可知,主句是一般过去时,那么从句也应该用过去的时态,所以第二空应用过去将来时would arrive。故选B。
5. Last month, the earthquake in Tom’s hometown caused 13 deaths (死亡) ________.
A. in all B. after all C. at all D. above all
【答案】A
【解析】

I think so我也这么认为;That’s right那是对的;I can’t agree more我完全同意;That’s not the case事实并非如此。根据对话内容,前者说“现在很多青少年只关心自己”,后者回应“这个年龄的很多志愿者会参加慈善活动”,说明后者不同意前者的观点,That’s not the case符合语境,表达与前者相反的看法。

both…and两者都;neither…nor既不……也不;either…or要么……要么;not only…but also不仅……而且。根据“None of the shoes are the right size”,可知鞋子是两种情况中的一种,要么大要么小,either; or符合语境。
8. I don’t know if Dad________tonight. If he ________, I will call you.
A. comes back; will come back B. will come back; will come back
C. comes back; comes back D. will come back; comes back

I’m feeling tired我感到疲惫;I’m feeling blue我感到沮丧;I’m not feeling suitable我觉得不合适;I’m not feeling unhappy我不觉得不开心。根据“in a bad mood”可知,此处指情绪低落,可以用“I’m feeling blue.”表示;feel blue是固定习语,意为“感到沮丧”。

Each one of the twelve animals has their own characteristics and attributes, and each year is represented by a ____16____ animal. For example, 1990 was the Year of the Horse, ____17____ 2010 was the Year of the Tiger. In Chinese culture, some people believe that a person’s success, personality and marriage are based on the animal of the year in which they were born.
However, the origin of the zodiac signs is based on a legend. Long ago, the Jade Emperor wanted to ____18____ twelve animals to be his guards. The first twelve animals to swim across the fast river would be the winners of the race, and therefore would have a year named for ____20____.
The Rat came first because he jumped on the back of the Ox to cross the river, and then suddenly jumped down from the Ox and ran to the Emperor’s feet to win first place. As the Tiger and the Rabbit were both fast and competitive, they both raced to the finish line, with the Tiger being faster. The Dragon was naturally eye-catching, so the Emperor immediately noticed him, who said his son could come sixth. Immediately after, the Snake said the Dragon was his adoptive father, so he came ____21____. Then, as the Horse and the Goat were both ____22____ and kind to one another, they let each other go first, so they came seventh and eighth. The ninth animal to finish the race was the Monkey, as he jumped between trees and stones to catch up with the other animals after falling behind. Finally, the last three animals to finish the race were the Rooster, Dog and Pig.
Some people wonder ____23____ the cat isn’t one of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, and many people believe that the Cat joined the Rat in jumping on the Ox’s back to cross the river, but the Rat pushed him into the water, so he was washed away and didn’t ____24____ the Emperor in time to get a ranking. 四、阅读理解(每小题1分,共15分)
A
Many of us have seen rainbows in the sky once the sun starts shining again after it rains. For us to see a rainbow, the conditions need to be just right. We need some water drops in the air, like rain or even fog, and we need the sun to be behind us and quite low to the ground. This is because a rainbow is created by light passing through water drops.
The light that comes from the sun seems white to us. But the white light we see is made up of a mix of different colours. When the light goes through a raindrop, these colours can separate out.
Each of the colours in the rainbow has a different wavelength (波长). Raindrops look like little balls. When light hits one of these little balls of water, the light can change direction. We call this refraction (折射). Each of the different wavelengths is refracted differently. If the light hits the raindrop at the right place, the refraction separates the wavelengths out into their different colours.
We are taught there are seven colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. But this isn’t exactly true. Blue and green are next to each other in the rainbow, which is why we can see turquoise (a mix of blue and green). Brown is a mix of red and green. But they aren’t next to each other in the rainbow, so we don’t see them mix to make brown.
We would never see black and white in a rainbow. Black is what we see when there’s no light at all. On the other hand, white is a mix of all the colours together. When light is refracted by raindrops, it separates the white light out, meaning it is no longer white.
26. We can see a rainbow under the right conditions because ________.
A. the raindrops are like little balls B. the light goes through raindrops
C. the sunshine seems to be colourful D. the weather is foggy after it rains
27. Which part of a magazine may this passage be taken from?

Once upon a time, the colours of the world started to quarrel. All said that they were the best, the most important, the most useful and the most popular.
Green said, “Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and hope. I was chosen for grass and trees. Without me, all animals would die.”
Blue interrupted, “You only think about the earth, but consider the sky and the sea. Without my peace, you would all be nothing.”
Yellow laughed, “I bring laughter and warmth into the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, and the stars are yellow. Every time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile. Without me, there would be no fun.”
Orange started next, “I am the colour of health and strength. I carry the most important vitamins. Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges and mangoes.”
Red couldn’t stand it any longer. He shouted out, “I am the ruler of all of you. I am blood — life’s blood! I am the colour of danger and bravery. I bring fire into the blood.”
Finally Indigo spoke, much more quietly than all the others, “Think of me. I am the colour of silence. You hardly notice me, but without me you all become superficial (肤浅的).”
And so the colours went on quarrelling. Their quarrelling became louder and louder. Suddenly there was a flash of bright lightning and thunder rolled and boomed. Rain started to pour down heavily. The colours crouched down in fear, drawing close to one another.
Rain began to say, “You foolish colours, don’t you know that you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me.”
Doing as they were told, the colours united and joined hands. The rain continued, “From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch (延伸) across the sky in a great bow of colour as a reminder that you can all live in peace. The rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow.” And so, whenever a good rain washes the world, and a rainbow appears in the sky, let us remember to appreciate one another.

As people say, you can’t change the environment, but you can change yourself. You can’t change the facts, but you can change attitudes (态度). You can’t control other people, but you can be the master of your own. You can’t do everything well, but you can be careful with everything. You can’t control the weather, but you can change your mood. You can't choose what you look like, but you can show a smile.
One key to success lies in your mind. There are some differences between winners and losers. Winners always think troubles and difficulties are caused by personal ability and experience. They would like to improve and develop in the right direction. But losers will blame their failures on the environment injustice (不公). They always complain, wait and give up.
In many cases, a humble (出身卑微的) person looks down upon himself. A person’s appearance and his family may not be changed, but he can control the spirit of the will of his own at least. If he can’t deal with the mind, how can he deal with more difficult things?
No matter what the situation is, a person’s attitude is very important. Emerson said, “The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going.” On the contrary (相反), failure is not because we do not have the strength, but because we can’t stick to ourselves, and always follow others’ examples.
We should believe the strength of the mind, and change our attitude when we face disappointments (失望) in life. I believe the power of the mind, and now it’s up to you to make the final decision.
36. Although people can’t do everything well, they can choose to ________.
A. change the facts B. control other people
C. change the environment D. be careful with everything
37. The differences between winners and losers are ________.
A. their chances B. their families C. their minds D. their jobs
38. The underlined word “blame” in the passage means “________” in Chinese.
A. 把……归咎于 B. 思考 C. 担心 D. 关心

Do you know that there are twelve Chinese zodiac signs, each one represented by an animal? Each one of the twelve animals has their own characteristics and attributes, and each year is represented by a ____16____ animal. For example, 1990 was the Year of the Horse, ____17____ 2010 was the Year of the Tiger. In Chinese culture, some people believe that a person’s success, personality and marriage are based on the animal of the year in which they were born.
However, the origin of the zodiac signs is based on a legend. Long ago, the Jade Emperor wanted to ____18____ twelve animals to be his guards. So, all animals on the Earth were ordered to take part in a ____19____ race.
No wonder cats and rats are always ____25____ in our daily lives.

This made tires look black. A French tire company made green. In the forest, they can’t see these colourful car tires in 1996. But the colourful “green” tigers. So, it is easy for tigers to tires would attract (吸引) drivers. This could cause car accidents.
The colour helps tigers catch their “meals”. The eyes of some animals, like deer, are different from human eyes. Orange is bright to humans. But deer see the colour as green. In the forest, they can’t see these “green” tigers. So, it is easy for tigers to hide and catch them.

A. 把……归咎于 B. 思考 C. 担心 D. 关心
39. What can we learn from Emerson’s words?
A. It’s important to work quickly.
B. We should always move forward toward our goals.
C. It’s necessary to work for the world.
D. We should give way to other people.
40. What’s the best title for the passage?
A. Believe the power of the mind B. Follow others’ examples
C. Have your strength D. Improve the environment

The volunteers in Better Blue are not only made up of diving coaches like Liu, but also pilots, lawyers, doctors and so on. All of them should have the knowledge of the sea.
Every year, 12 million tons of plastic waste flows into the ocean (海洋). Sea animals like turtles often lose their lives because of eating plastic or fishing nets. Dive Against Debris is an activity organized by Better Blue to protect the ocean. The activity needs volunteers with greater diving skills. In this project, divers go into the waters and fish out rubbish, which is then separated into different groups. They do this at several fixed locations in the bay area of Shenzhen every month. The work also includes checking the kind of the area’s common rubbish, doing a research on why this kind of rubbish is the most and making suggestions to reduce the pollution.
Marine protection is not limited to collecting rubbish. It also includes marine protection education. On weekdays, Liu volunteers to teach children marine protection in local schools. Volunteers like him teach marine science to make children realize that land-based rubbish can also pollute the ocean. Researchers from local universities also take part in such activities.
