七、任务型阅读(共12分)
What Makes a Job Worthwhile?
When students talk about dream jobs, most of them mention famous or high-income jobs like doctors, designers or photographers. Few students think about ordinary jobs that carry cultural value. However, every job that brings good influence to society is worthwhile, especially jobs with traditional craftsmanship.
Book restoration is one such worthwhile job. Its main duty is repairing ancient paper works damaged by damp, insects or fire. Workers need two basic qualities: professional repair skills and endless patience. Sometimes repairing one page takes a whole workday, and workers cannot make any mistakes.
Another valuable job is being a traditional wood craftsman. These workers repair old wooden furniture and create new wooden artworks. They learn skills from elder masters and pass the skills down to younger people. Their work keeps thousands of old wooden cultural treasures alive. Unlike factory machines that make the same products quickly, craftsmen create unique works with hand skills. Every piece of wooden art has its own special shape and story.
Many young people refuse to take these jobs for two reasons. First, traditional craft jobs usually bring lower pay than office jobs. Second, the training period is long and boring. You need to spend 5 to 10 years learning basic skills before you can work independently.
Even so, more cultural workers are calling on teenagers to take up traditional craft jobs. These jobs protect our national culture. If no young people learn these skills, many old crafts will disappear forever. The government also offers free training courses for traditional handcraft skills to encourage more young learners.
If you want to choose a worthwhile job, do not only think about money. Ask yourself two questions: Can this job bring value to society? Do I have real passion for this work? If both answers are yes, this job is worth your time and effort.
Answer the following questions according to the passage.
45.What kind of jobs are worthwhile according to the passage?
46.What are the two basic qualities for book restorers?
47.What is the difference between hand-made wooden works and machine-made ones?
48.How long do people need to learn basic wood craft skills to work alone?

49.What does the government do to encourage young people to learn traditional crafts?
50.Please write one sentence to explain your idea of a worthwhile job (No More Than 25 Words).
八、书面表达(共23分)

【参考范文】
I used to be a dependent and quiet girl who was afraid of speaking in front of others when I was in the 8th grade. As time went on, I learned to do a lot of things by myself and became more independent of my parents. I also tried to make more friends. At first I found it hard, but now I have a few close friends I can trust. Although I remain quiet in many situations, I feel comfortable most of the time. I have learned that growing up means becoming braver step by step.
