Write five pieces of advice for making friends on a card / poster and decorate (装饰)it. Then share your advice with the class.

1. Do you like to make new friends at school? Yes? Here’s
some of my advice.
advice是不可数名词,意思是“意见;忠告”。
E.g. I need some advice on which computer to buy.
“一条建议”的英文表达是a piece of advice。
E.g. Can I give you a piece of advice?
比较:advise
advise是动词,意思是“给......出主意,向......提供意见”。
E.g. My teacher advised me to practice my English every day.
I advised my friend to join the school basketball team.
2. If you don’t hear the name clearly, try, “Sorry, can you
repeat that for me, please?” Then give your name and say,
“Nice to meet you!”
give your name的意思是“说出你的名字”。
E.g. The teacher asked the students to give their names before
starting the lesson.
在Who gave you your name?这句话中,gave you your name是什么意思?
3. It is really as simple as that!

E.g. It is important to do what you like.
It is + adj. + to do sth是一种常见的英语句型,用于表达做某事是怎样的。中间的形容词用来描述事物的特征。
E.g. It’s easy / difficult / interesting / nice to do sth.
5. So when your classmate stops talking, you can jump in
and ask another question!
stoping doing sth.的意思是“停止正在做的事情”。
E.g. Stop doing your homework now and go to bed.
比较:stop to do sth的意思是“停下(正在做的事情)去做

E.g. After walking an hour, we stopped to rest under a big tree.
jump in的意思是“打断,插嘴”。
E.g. Jump in any time you have a question during the lesson.

E.g. I forgot to call my friend last night.
比较:forget doing sth.的意思是“忘记已经做过的事情”。
