Pre-listening Ask students to look at the picture in 2a and answer the questions. ◆Who are the two boys in the picture? ◆Where are they? ◆What can you see in the room? ◆What do you think they are talking about？ While-listening 2a 1．Have students listen to the conversation and circle the coloured words they hear. 2．Check the answers with the students.Help students distinguish the words and phrases “come in” and “welcome”，“a lot of” and “lots of”，“really” and “very”． 3．Ask some questions to help students understand the conversation. ◆Who owns the red ping­pong bat? ◆How often do Teng Fei and his grandpa play ping­pong? ◆What does Teng Fei's father like? ◆Does Teng Fei play the piano? 2b 1．Ask students to read the conversation and complete the table about Teng Fei's family. 2．Check the answers with students. 3．Have students work in pairs and take turns to talk about Teng Fei's family with a partner. 2c 1．Let students listen to the conversation again and role­play it. 2．Invite several pairs of students to role­play the conversation for the whole class. Teaching Reflection This lesson helped students talk about their family members' things and hobbies. The activities，like describing photos and role­playing，made the lesson fun and practical.Students practised new words and sentences while sharing about their families. However，some found it hard to move from the textbook examples to talking about their own families.Next time，I can give them more examples or openings to make it easier.
