Suggested answers: 1.Rose's two friends are very different.Lily is funny and always makes her laugh and feel positive.Lucy is quiet, but she is a good listener. 2.This means Lily always helps Rose see the hope and positive side of difficult situations. The “silver lining” refers to the good aspect of a tough situation. 3.This sentence means that a true friend not only supports you when you need help but also deeply understands and cares about your feelings.I agree with this sentence because I think a true friend should always be there and make you feel loved and supported. While-writing Analyze the Structure 1.Ask students to discuss how Rose expressed her opinion in her post, and then make a summary. ◆Rose showed her opinion in the first sentence. ◆She used examples to support her opinion. ◆She used a saying to make a conclusion. 2.Guide students to summarize the structure. 3b 1. Have students complete the table and use their personal experiences to support their opinions. 2.
