nullUnit 6 Beyond Earth 第三课时 Section A Grammar Focus 课型:听说课 主讲人:XXX Presentation 02 Practice 03 Lead-in 01 Production 04 CONTENTS Language points 06 Exercise 07 Summary 05 Homework 08 学习目标 通过观察4a中的例句,识别一般将来时被动语态的形式特征(will be + 过去分词);回顾被动语态的基本概念(主语为动作的承受者),梳理一般将来时被动语态的肯定、否定、疑问结构;概括一般将来时被动语态的核心结构“will be done”,并与主动语态“will do”进行对比。 01 根据语境判断该使用主动语态还是被动语态,正确选择“will do”或“will be done”;在4b句型转换和4c短文填空中,正确运用一般将来时被动语态完成控制性练习;运用“will be done”结构,描述对未来太空探索的预测和计划。 02 运用一般将来时被动语态,创编一段关于未来太空探索的对话或短文;评价太空探索的价值,表达对未来航天发展的个人观点。 03 通过本节课学习,学生能够: 01 Lead-in As space spokespersons(发言人), we need to announce this news to the world in English. But how do we say it? Imagine it's 2030. China has just built a research station on the moon! Look at these two sentences. Answer the questions. Scientists will build a research station on the moon. A research station will be built on the moon. Can you find out the subjects in these two sentences? Which sentence focuses on WHO does the action? Which sentence focuses on WHAT is done? WHO WHAT What is the difference between the verbs in the two sentences? active voice passive voice Today, we are going to learn how to use the passive voice in the simple future tense—will be done. This is how we talk about things that will be done in the future, especially in space exploration! 02 Presentation Let's look at some sentences from a space news report. 📰 Space News Report Will you be visited by other astronauts? More astronauts will be sent there. Exploration of the planet Mars and the moon will be continued. A new home for us human beings will be needed. It is believed that our understanding of the moon and the universe will be greatly improved. Read the sentences and underline the verbs in the passive voice. Let's look at some sentences from a space news report. 📰 Space News Report Will you be visited by other astronauts? More astronauts will be sent there. Exploration of the planet Mars and the moon will be continued. A new home for us human beings will be needed. It is believed that our understanding of the moon and the universe will be greatly improved. Look at the underlined parts. What do they have in common? They all have be + a past participle(过去分词). What is the tense of these sentences? How can you know? The Simple Future Tense. Try to find out the rules. Simple Future Passive Voice (一般将来时被动语态) 结构:主语 + will be + 过去分词 (done) 用法:表示将来某个动作会被做 (强调动作的承受者) So what is the structure of the passive voice in the simple future tense? 主动语态(Active) 被动语态(Passive) Scientists will send more astronauts. More astronauts will be sent (by scientists). Humans will build a new home. A new home will be built (by humans). They will continue the exploration. The exploration will be continued (by them). Compare these two parts. Answer the questions. Look at the active sentences. What is the structure? will + 动词原形. Look at the passive sentences. How do they change? will be + 过去分词 What happens to the subject and object when we change from active to passive? The object becomes the subject. Try to find out the rules. 主动 → 被动转换规则: 主动:主语 + will + 动词原形 + 宾语 ↓ 被动:原宾语 + will be + 过去分词 (+ by + 原主语) So how to change active to passive? Negative Sentence (否定句) Yes/No Question (一般疑问句) Wh- Question (特殊疑问句) A new home will not (won't) be needed if we protect Earth. Will life be found on another planet? When will the space station be completed? More astronauts will not (won't) be sent without proper training. Will you be visited by other astronauts? Where will the new resources be found? Compare these three parts. Answer the questions. How do we make a negative sentence in the passive future tense? Put 'not' after 'will'. How do we make a Yes/No question? Put 'will' at the beginning. How do we make a Wh- Question? Put 'Special question words' before Yes/No question. So how to make sentences? Brainstorm and share your ideas. Why do we use the passive voice in these space news reports? Look at sentence: 'It is believed that...’ Why don't we say 'People believe that...'? Because we don't know who believes it. It is believed that our understanding of the moon and the universe will be greatly improved. Because it's more formal in news report. Try to find out the rules. When to use passive voice: 1. 不知道或不需要说明动作的执行者 → A new planet will be discovered. 2. 强调动作的承受者,而非执行者 → A new home for humans will be built on Mars. 3. 在科技报道或新闻中更正式、更客观 → It is believed that life will be found in space. A team of superhero space telescopes, in a sense, has done just that. Using powerful technology, they've peared into space, discovering thousands of these distant planets and unveiling their secrets. The first exoplanet discoveries were very down to earth. They were made from the ground, pioneering new techniques around base telescopes began capturing evidence of giant scorchingly hot planets around other stars. But to see exoplanets more clearly, including small, rocky words like our own telescopes needed a boost to began launching them into space, lifting them above earth's atmosphere. This superhero team of space telescopes, hubble, chAndra spitzer, kepler and test, were free from all the noise and interference from earth's atmosphere. Gittern air molecules scattering light, clouds and moisture, and the curtain parted on a galaxy crowded with exoplanets, giant ones, tiny ones, rocky and gaseous, deep frozen and superheated planets with two or three sons, super s mini neptunes and worlds that were just plain weird, like nothing we had ever seen before. And now a new marvel of technology joints, nas team, the James web space telescope, its infrared vision can peer into the atmosphere of exoplanets, expanding what we know about distant worlds. High on the list of odd EXO planets to observe is a terrifying place where might rain glass sideways. This exoplanet is called HD one eight nine 733b and it's a hot jupiter,a giant gaseous world that hugs its star in such a tight orbit that its temperatures is more than one thousand seven hundred degrees farn height. It's wins hole at more than five thousand four hundred miles per hour. Hd one eight nine seven three three b has been a favorite target of our space telescopes. Spits are measured, its temperature and winds. Hubble discovered that the planets clouds are deep blue due to the raining glass or silicates, and chAndra observed its star and x rays watching the planet shadow is at past in front of the star, a much larger shadow than previously thought, because huge amounts of the planet's atmosphere are evaporating into space. NASA next great observation, tory, the James web space telescope will also turn its supervision on hd one eight nine seven three three b like pizer, IT sees a powerful infrared, but webs vision will penetrate far more deeply into this planet's atmosphere and others than ever before. What will I find? Put IT all together. And its a super team, extraordinary telescopes, exceptional vision and mind, expanding exoplanets discoveries.
