What happened during this summer holiday?
Tech Breakthrough
Commercial Rocket Recycling
China has made new progress in commercial space industry this summer. The successful rocket recycling greatly reduces space costs. It proves that constant exploration and innovation can create endless possibilities.
What happened during this summer holiday?
2026 FIFA World Cup
This summer, the 2026 FIFA World Cup was held in North America. It is the first tournament with 48 teams competing. The players’ perseverance and team spirit teach us that persistent efforts lead to final victory.
Senior 2 is not a rest stop. It is the climb that leads to Senior 3.
Let’s do a quick Summer Check-in.
Question ✓ ✗
1 Did you finish your summer English homework? ☐ ☐
2 Did you memorize any vocabulary over the summer? ☐ ☐
3 Did you read at least one English article or story? ☐ ☐
4 Did you practice English writing (even just one passage)? ☐ ☐
5 Did you feel your English is “stuck” at the same level? ☐ ☐
6 Are you secretly worried about Senior 3 already? ☐ ☐
The check-in is over.
The work begins now.
Part Two
Schedule: Your Two-Year
Horizon
赛程
Think about why this year matters more than you think.
Senior 2 is where the real gap is created. Two students who start Senior 1 at the same level can be 30 points or more apart by Senior 3 — just based on what they did or didn't do in Senior 2.
If you finish this year with everything checked — you will walk into Senior 3 with confidence. If not, you'll walk into Senior 3 with anxiety. The choice is yours — but the work starts now.
Part Three
Legends: What They Teach Us
About Growing
榜样
What They Teach Us About Growing?
At 18, Ronaldo was talented — but so were many others. What separated him from the rest? Not talent. Discipline.
He built his "system" at 18. He didn't wait until he was 30 to start eating right, training hard, and sleeping properly. He started early — when no one was expecting him to become a legend.
“Do I have talent? Yes. But talent only gets you through the door. Self-discipline takes you to the top.”
— Cristiano Ronaldo
What They Teach Us About Growing?
Day-after-day persistence — not a one-time effort.
Extreme self-discipline — not occasional hard work.
Senior 2 is your time to build the system. Not to win the championship. Not to break records. To build the habits that will carry you through Senior 3.
The player who trains only when it's convenient never makes it to the final. The player who trains when nobody is watching — that's the one who lifts the trophy.
What They Teach Us About Growing?
Unbreakable resilience from start to finish — not giving up at halftime.
Lionel Messi played in SIX World Cups. FIVE times, he walked away with nothing but heartbreak.
2006, age 19: Quarter-final exit.
2010, age 23: Quarter-final exit.
2014, age 27: Final defeat. Tears on the pitch.
2018, age 31: Round of 16 exit.
2022, age 35: FINALLY — CHAMPION!
"True resilience is not about never falling. It's about getting up every single time you fall — and running even harder."
— Lionel Messi
What They Teach Us About Growing?
Senior 2 can feel like a "plateau." You study hard, but your score doesn't move. You memorize words, but you forget them the next day.
That's the hardest phase of growth — the "underground phase." Everything is happening beneath the surface. The roots are spreading. You just can't see them yet.
Messi's 16-year wait teaches us one thing: invisible progress is still progress.
Stay hungry.
Stay humble.
Lamine Yamal is just 18 years old. He is already one of the most exciting players in world football. He has everything — talent, fame, and a World Cup stage.
But he never shows off. He never acts like he has "made it."
“I am still young. I still have so much to learn. Every time I step on the pitch, I treat it as if it's my first game.”
— Lamine Yamal
What Do They Teach Us About Growing?
Senior 2 is the BEST time to say "I don't know" — because you still have time to fix it.
What Do They Teach Us About Growing?
In Senior 3, saying "I don't know" costs you time you don't have. But in Senior 2, it costs you NOTHING — and gains you EVERYTHING.
The foolish student pretends to understand. The wise student asks
Ask your teacher — even if the question feels "too simple."
Ask your classmate — "How did you get that answer?"
Ask yourself — "What exactly don't I get here? And what am I going to do about it?"
What Makes a Champion?
After we looked at the legends — Ronaldo, Messi and Yamal — let’s be clear about one thing:
Every shining moment on the pitch is built on thousands of invisible hours.
The victories you celebrate are the result of years of discipline. The comebacks you cheer for are the product of daily accumulation. The champions you admire did not get there by accident — they got there by showing up, every single day, even when no one was watching.
What Makes a Champion?
Legends inspire us.
But inspiration fades.
Habits stay.
Let’s move from inspiration to operation —
What are you going to DO this year?

Your Mission for This Year: Build the Foundation
Mission 2: Grammar
You can‘t solve Senior 3 problems if you don’t understand the building blocks. This year, you must conquer the two big bosses of Chinese high school English grammar:
to do / doing / done — when to use which?
Attributive Clause(定语从句)
Noun Clause(名词性从句)
Adverbial Clause(状语从句)
Boss 1: Non-finite Verbs(非谓语动词)
Boss 2: The Three Major Clauses(三大从句)
Do not push them to next year.
Next year is for strategy. This year is for understanding.

Step 3:判断主被动
them 指代 dajis(大集),大集是被“举办”的,即 被动关系,故用不定式的被动形式 to be held。
