Step 2 Work on 3a 1.Ask students to read the sentences in 3a.Ask them to notice the words in bold and find out the ways to form a superlative adjective or adverb. 2.Have a class discussion.Ask students to explain the formation and usage of each superlative in the sentences.Encourage them to share their understandings. Step 3 Work on 3b 1.Ask students to complete the sentences with the superlative forms of the words in brackets.Let them work individually and then check their answers with a partner. 2.Invite several students to share their answers with the class.Correct any mistakes and give feedback.Explain the reasons for the correct forms,especially for the irregular changes.
