A lunch box looks simple, but using it correctly can keep food safer. Many students put rice, meat and vegetables into one box early in the morning. If the box stays in a warm classroom for several hours, the food may become unsafe.
Let cooked food cool before closing the box. Hot food gives off steam. The steam can turn into water and make the box wet. Then some food may go bad. Keep wet food away from dry food. For example, put soup in another bottle instead of pouring it over rice.
Cleaning is also important. Wash the lunch box soon after use, especially around the cover and corners. If you only rinse it quickly, small pieces of food may stay there. Fresh food, a clean box and a cool place can make lunch safer. These simple habits should be followed every day.
26. Why may food in a lunch box become unsafe in a warm classroom?
A. The food may stay warm for too long.
B. The box is too small.
C. Students eat too slowly.
D. The classroom has many desks.
27. What may happen if hot food is closed in a box at once?
A. Rice will become dry at once.
B. The cover will become stronger.
C. Vegetables will grow faster.
D. Steam may turn into water inside.
28. What does the underlined word “rinsing” in the last paragraph mean?
A. Repairing something carefully.

A. Pour soup over rice before school.
B. Close hot food in a box quickly.
C. Keep wet food and dry food apart.
D. Wash the box only once a week.
30. What is the passage mainly about?
A. How to keep lunch boxes clean and food safer.
B. How to choose a schoolbag.
C. Why students like hot meals.
D. Why classrooms should be warmer.
【答案】26. A 27. D 28. B 29. C 30. A
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要介绍学生使用饭盒时保持食物安全的几个日常做法。

28. B。词义猜测题。根据“A lunch box should be washed soon after use”和“If students only rinse it quickly...”可知,此处讨论清洗饭盒。rinsing表示用水快速冲洗,B项正确。
29. C。细节理解题。根据第二段“It is also better to keep wet food away from dry food.”可知,湿的食物和干的食物最好分开放,C项正确。

A sign in a clothing store said, “Please return clothes to the desk if they do not fit.” At first, few customers noticed it. Many left shirts and trousers on the chair. The shop assistants had to check the fitting room again and again.
The owner, Ms. Tang, did not blame the customers. She changed the sign to: “Wrong size? Put it in the blue basket. We will put it back for you.” She placed a blue basket by the door. The new sign was friendlier and clearer. Within a week, the fitting room became much tidier.
Ms. Tang used the same idea in other parts of the store. Near the cashier, a card said, “Need a gift bag? Please tell us before payment.” This helped workers prepare bags without slowing the line. Ms. Tang believes a good rule should not only say what is not allowed. It should also show the next easy step. Clear and polite rules are easier to follow.

A. Customers could not find the cashier.
B. The store had no blue baskets.

C. A Rule That Shows the Next Step
D. A Difficult Payment Line
【答案】31. C 32. D 33. A 34. D 35. C

C项“A Rule That Shows the Next Step”概括了文章主旨,最适合作标题。

Finally, clean your headphones often. They touch your ears every day, so cleanliness is important. ___39___ If your ears hurt or ring, stop using headphones for a while. Ask for help if needed. ___40___

B. Washing something quickly with water.
C. Cutting something into pieces.
D. Putting something in a warm place.
29. Which of the following is the writer’s advice?
A. Pour soup over rice before school.
B. Close hot food in a box quickly.
C. Keep wet food and dry food apart.
D. Wash the box only once a week.

A. How to keep lunch boxes clean and food safer.
