My First Day at Junior High

My name is Li Hua. I’m a new student at No. 1 Junior High School. I was very nervous on the first day because I didn’t know anyone. But soon I found that everyone was friendly. My teacher, Mr. Chen, asked us to introduce ourselves one by one. When it was my turn, I felt my face turn red. But my deskmate Wang Lei said to me, “You can do it!” That encouraged me a lot.

We had four classes that morning: Chinese, maths, English and history. The maths teacher was strict but humorous. He made the class interesting. At lunchtime, I sat with some new classmates. We shared snacks and talked about our favourite sports. Tom likes basketball and Lily enjoys swimming.

In the afternoon, we took a school tour. We visited the art room, the music room and the computer room. I was amazed by the new machines there. I think junior high will be full of new chances. I’m looking forward to the coming days.
