① 同向词:so、therefore、because、and、also、besides、moreover —— 表因果或并列叠加
② 反向词:but、however、yet、instead —— 表转折或对比
③ 让步词:although、though、even though —— 表“虽然…
Although he was tired, but he went to school.
二者不能在同一句中并用——although 已把 he was tired 降级为从句,主句是 he went to school;再加 but 会造成主句结构冲突。
我的改正:____________________________________________
1. Everyone thought the little dog was too weak to survive the winter, but it ______ and grew stronger day by day, much to everyone’s surprise.
A. suffered B. disappeared C. recovered D. survived
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标 / 复现:__________________________

A. hunger B. pride C. fear D. joy
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标:____________________________
3. ______ the climb had been long and exhausting, they refused to give up halfway through the expedition.
A. Because B. Although C. If D. Unless
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标:____________________________
4. The old tree had lost all its leaves in the storm, and its branches lay broken on the ground, ______ it stood tall through the winter, defying the harsh conditions.
A. nevertheless B. therefore C. moreover D. instead
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标:____________________________
The data seemed accurate at first glance, but a closer look ______ some serious errors that had been overlooked by the initial reviewers.
A. revealed B. concealed C. ignored D. confirmed
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标:____________________________
because / since / so / therefore / as a result / thanks to —— 判断方法:把空填进去,看能不能构成合理的“因为…… 口诀:“because + 原因;so + 结果”。
and / also / besides / moreover / what’s more —— 空的内容与前后是同向叠加、意思更进一层。
(He studied hard, so he passed.);therefore 是副词,可置于句首(Therefore, he passed.)或句中(He, therefore, passed.),不能直接连接两个分句(× He studied hard, therefore he passed.)。
He had eaten too much. ______, he felt sick the next morning.
想一想:这里应填________________(一词),因为______________________。
若能代入“因为 A 所以 B”且通顺,则为因果,填 Therefore / As a result;若代入“虽然 A 但是 B”通顺,则为让步 / 转折,填 Nevertheless / However。
Mary had studied the map carefully before the trip, so she had no ______ finding her way to the new school on her first visit.
A. time B. chance C. interest D. trouble
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标:____________________________
Besides being a talented musician who has won several competitions, she is ______ an excellent student who always gets top marks in every subject.
A. also B. only C. never D. hardly
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标:____________________________
The temperature dropped below zero throughout the night. ______, the river froze over completely and the children could not go skating.
A. Instead B. Therefore C. Although D. Moreover
我的答案:____ 我是怎么串出因果的:________________________
He had little experience in teaching and had never stood in front of a class before, ______ he was an excellent communicator who could explain complex ideas in simple terms.

He was an excellent communicator, ______ his students learned a lot and often praised his clear explanations.
A. so B. but C. although D. however
我的答案:____ 我盯住的路标:____________________________

31. He had eaten too much at dinner. ______, he felt sick the next morning.
A. Therefore B. Although C. Moreover D. Instead
32. The exam was extremely difficult. ______, many students managed to pass.
A. Nevertheless B. Consequently C. Therefore D. Besides
33. Everyone thought the little dog was too weak to survive the winter. ______, it grew stronger day by day.
A. Instead B. However C. Therefore D. Moreover

核心路标词速记:① 同向词(so, therefore, because, and, also, besides, moreover)表因果或并列叠加;② 反向词(but, however, yet, instead)表转折或对比;③ 让步词(although, though, even though)表“虽然…
【专项误判演示】学生常写出 "Although he was tired, but he went to school."——受中文"虽然…… 二者不能在同一句中并用,因为 although 已将 "he was tired" 降级为从句,主句是 "he went to school";再加 but 会造成主句结构冲突(he went to school 既充当主句又充当并列分句)。 正确写法是 "Although he was tired, he went to school." 或 "He was tired, but he went to school."。
1. Everyone thought the little dog was too weak to survive the winter, but it ____ and grew stronger day by day, much to everyone's surprise.
A. suffered B. disappeared C. recovered D. survived
【答案】D。but 一出来,方向先定反——前面说 it was too weak to survive(弱得活不过冬天),后面就该接跟它相反的动作,先锁到 recovered / survived 两个正向词上。
2. He looked calm on the outside, maintaining a steady posture and speaking in a measured tone, but in fact his hands were shaking with ____ beneath the desk.
A. hunger B. pride C. fear D. joy
3. ____ the climb had been long and exhausting, they refused to give up halfway through the expedition.
A. Because B. Although C. If D. Unless
4. The old tree had lost all its leaves in the storm, and its branches lay broken on the ground, ____ it stood tall through the winter, defying the harsh conditions.
A. nevertheless B. therefore C. moreover D. instead
【答案】A。
The data seemed accurate at first glance, but a closer look ____ some serious errors that had been overlooked by the initial reviewers.
A. revealed B. concealed C. ignored D. confirmed
【答案】A。
因果:because / since / so / therefore / as a result / thanks to —— 一个因一个果,方向一致。 口诀:"because + 原因;so + 结果"。
递进与并列:and / also / besides / moreover / what's more —— 顺着往前推,意思一致且更进一层,空的内容与前后是"同向叠加"的。
(He studied hard, so he passed.);therefore 是副词,可置于句首(Therefore, he passed.)或句中(He, therefore, passed.),不能直接连接两个分句(× He studied hard, therefore he passed.)。
He had eaten too much. ___, he felt sick the next morning. 正确答案是 Therefore 或 As a result。
若能代入"因为A所以B"且通顺,则为因果,填 Therefore/As a result;若代入"虽然A但是B"通顺,则为让步/转折,填 Nevertheless/However。
Mary had studied the map carefully before the trip, so she had no ____ finding her way to the new school on her first visit.
A. time B. chance C. interest D. trouble
Besides being a talented musician who has won several competitions, she is ____ an excellent student who always gets top marks in every subject.
A. also B. only C. never D. hardly
【答案】A。
The temperature dropped below zero throughout the night. ___, the river froze over completely and the children could not go skating.
A. Instead B. Therefore C. Although D. Moreover
He had little experience in teaching and had never stood in front of a class before, ____ he was an excellent communicator who could explain complex ideas in simple terms.
A. but B. so C. and D. for
【答案】A。 He had little experience..., although he was an excellent communicator.——此时语义重心会落在"经验少"上,与原句"经验少是铺垫、会沟通才是焦点"的语义重心不符。
He was an excellent communicator, ____ his students learned a lot and often praised his clear explanations.
A. so B. but C. although D. however
【答案】A。
He studied hard, ___ he passed the exam. 本题"努力"是"通过"的原因,插入"because of this"后语义通顺,应选 so 而非 and。
插入 because of this 后的完整演示:插入 because of this 后得到:He studied hard, because of this he passed the exam. He studied hard, and because of this he passed the exam. (He got up late, and because of this he ate breakfast.
11. On the farm, Tom learned to milk the cows, feed the chickens and water the vegetables. These ____ skills would be useful for the rest of his life.
A. useless B. simple C. practical D. dangerous
The old man was slow in walking, but his mind was as ____ as a young man's.
A. sharp B. weak C. heavy D. simple
【答案】A。
When she first arrived at the university, she felt completely lost. But after a week, she ____ the campus and found her way to the library without looking at the map.
A. forgot B. got to know C. explored D. recognized
The restaurant served a variety of dishes: grilled fish, spicy noodles, vegetable stir-fry and sweet rice balls. These ____ options appealed to customers of all ages.
A. expensive B. diverse C. limited D. traditional
15.(逻辑+复现复合:逻辑关系 > 词汇复现)The experiment seemed dangerous at first, with sparks flying and smoke rising from the beakers, but the scientist ____ it carefully and found it was actually quite safe under controlled conditions.
A. repeated B. conducted C. avoided D. confirmed
Last year, I entered the school speech contest with high hopes, believing that my months of preparation would surely pay off. ____, my speech was a complete failure. I forgot my lines, felt my voice shaking uncontrollably, and I ____ walked off the stage to the sound of an awkward silence that seemed to swallow the entire hall.
I felt like the biggest fool in the world. For days, I refused to talk about it ____, avoiding my classmates' curious glances and pretending that nothing had happened.
"Why did I even try?" I asked my mother, my face burning with ____.
"Because you did," she said simply. "That is the ____ between those who try and those who watch — the former take action while the latter only dream," she said, "and you have already taken the first step." Many people never even ____ to get up there, let alone face the fear of public speaking.
Her words stayed with me. Slowly, the image of her smiling face replaced the memory of embarrassment. Instead of hiding from the memory, I ____ to practice every day after school. I recorded myself, listened carefully, and ____ my mistakes one by one. The next term, I entered the contest again.
I ____ the courage to believe in myself again, and ____ I could speak without shaking.
The ____ of failure taught me more than any victory ever could.
This time, when I finished, the whole hall ____ and clapped. I didn't win first prize, but I ____ something far more valuable: the courage to stand up and speak again.
Now I understand: failure is not the ____ of the road. It is a ____ along the way.

16.【答案】A。前文 with high hopes(满怀希望),后文 my speech was a complete failure(演讲一败涂地)——一扬一抑,典型的转折路标,填 However。
18.【答案】A。固定搭配题:refuse to talk about it at all,at all 与否定连用表示“完全”,绝口不提。
19.【答案】B。情感线串起来看:“Why did I even try?”
A。between those who try and those who watch 一对比,缺口是“差别”,difference。有同学会想 distinction 也能配 between A and B——但两个词的语义场分量不同:distinction 常指“杰出、优秀”(a student of distinction)或“细微的差别”(make a fine distinction);difference 才指“本质上的不同”。
不选 managed:managed to do 强调“做到了”,而 even 强化的是“敢不敢”的勇气维度,dared 更准。
22.【答案】B。 Instead of hiding from the memory(不再逃避),后面自然是决定每天练习——decided。
26.【答案】A。
B。didn't win first prize, but ...
B。failure is not the ___ of the road,无路标词,得靠全文推:road 呼应后文 along the way,前文又说 you have already taken the first step(已迈出第一步)——暗示别停在终点。
31. He had eaten too much at dinner. ___, he felt sick the next morning.
A. Therefore B. Although C. Moreover D. Instead
【答案】A。
32. The exam was extremely difficult. ___, many students managed to pass.
A. Nevertheless B. Consequently C. Therefore D. Besides
【答案】A。
33. Everyone thought the little dog was too weak to survive the winter. ___, it grew stronger day by day.
A. Instead B. However C. Therefore D. Moreover
