根据第一段中的“Peking Opera has been a game changer for him, which led him to China and shaped his enthusiasm for cultural exchanges.(京剧彻底改变了他,引领他来到中国,塑造了他对文化交流的热情。)”
根据第三段中的“Some of my classmates went to India, for example, but my dream was to go to China — it was a no-brainer.(举例来说,我的一些同学去了印度,但我的梦想是前往中国,it was a no-brainer.。)”
根据第五段中的“He has created two theatre pieces in recent years, including a story about the Monkey King, the omnipotent (全能的) character from the novel Journey to the West. In the Monkey King, Pilotti embodies the character’s tangible characteristics through Peking Opera movements, inspiring his young audience members to be themselves.(近些年他创作了两部戏剧作品,其中包含一个取材于《西游记》、讲述神通广大的孙悟空的故事。在《美猴王》这部作品里,皮洛蒂借助京剧身段,具象化展现出该角色的各项特质,鼓舞年轻观众坚守自我。)”可知,他擅长原创戏剧,长久执着于京剧学习与文化传播,具备原创与专注投入的特质。
7.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是首段中的“37-year-old Swedish actor Timothy Pilotti uses physical comedy to bring cultural exchanges to the stage. Peking Opera has been a game changer for him, which led him to China and shaped his enthusiasm for cultural exchanges.(37岁的瑞典演员蒂莫西·皮洛蒂运用肢体喜剧把文化交流带到舞台上。

根据第一段中“Young users began treating Sherry’s video as a challenge. They created their own “Chinese lifestyle checklists” and shared them online: warm water as soon as you wake up, slippers in every room, goji berry tea in a thermos (保温瓶), foot soaking before bed, and even learning Baduanjin — a type of traditional Chinese exercise.(年轻用户开始将Sherry的视频当作一种挑战,纷纷制作自己的“中国生活方式清单”并分享到网络上:醒来后立即喝温水、每个房间都穿拖鞋、用保温杯泡枸杞茶、睡前泡脚,甚至学习八段锦——一种中国传统健身操。)” go viral意为“迅速走红”,与A 项Became popular very quickly“很快流行起来”表意完全一致。
根据第二段“Why have so many young people embraced these Chinese habits? For some, it is simply about wellness. They report better digestion (消化), less bloating (腹胀), and higher energy levels after switching from cold drinks to warm water. For others, the appeal is deeper. Many Western Gen Zers, born between the late 1990s and early 2010s, are anxious about their own societies: rising living costs, stagnant (停滞的) wages, and a sense that the future is uncertain. Chinese daily life, as shown in these videos, appears stable, affordable, and balanced.(为什么这么多人开始接受这些中国习惯?
根据第三段中“The trend is not just online. In the first three months of 2026, China’s exports of thermos flasks reached 5 billion yuan (about $732 million), up significantly from the same period last year. Tea exports also rose, as more Western consumers began brewing healthy Chinese teas at home. (这一趋势并不仅限于线上。在2026年前三个月,中国保温瓶出口额达到50亿元人民币(约合7.32亿美元),较去年同期大幅增长。茶叶出口也有所上升,因为越来越多的西方消费者开始在家冲泡健康的中国茶饮。)”可知,作者在第三段中提到保温瓶出口量增加是为了说网络潮流确实产生了经济影响。
11.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“In the first three months of 2026, China’s exports of thermos flasks reached 5 billion yuan (about $732 million), up significantly from the same period last year. Tea exports also rose, as more Western consumers began brewing healthy Chinese teas at home. Many are even planning their first trip to China. As Sherry Zhu put it in an interview with People’s Daily in May 2026: “It’s not that I became famous. It’s that Chinese culture has become popular.”(在2026年前三个月,中国保温瓶出口额达到50亿元人民币(约合7.32亿美元),较去年同期大幅增长。

根据文章第二段“Originally inhabited (居住) solely by native Hawaiians, the islands witnessed successive (接连的) waves of immigrants from Asia, Europe, and the American mainland who, instead of completely replacing the native lifestyle, gradually formed a mixed society. (这些岛屿最初仅由夏威夷原住民居住,后来见证了来自亚洲、欧洲和美国大陆的接连不断的移民浪潮,这些移民并未完全取代原住民的生活方式,而是逐渐形成了一个混合社会。)”可知,夏威夷文化是由持续的移民浪潮逐步形成的。
13.细节理解题。根据文章第三段“While visitors today are drawn to this inclusive (包容性的) atmosphere where they can experience hula dancing alongside foreign cuisine, some experts worry that these sacred (神圣的) customs might be over-commercialized, turning rich heritage into superficial (肤浅的) performances designed merely for profit. When beautiful traditions become simple shows to make money from tourists, they lose their original meanings. (虽然今天的游客被这种包容的氛围所吸引,在这里他们可以体验草裙舞和外国美食,但一些专家担心,这些神圣的习俗可能会过度商业化,将丰富的遗产变成纯粹为利润而设计的肤浅表演。当美丽的传统沦为从游客身上赚钱的简单演出时,它们便失去了原有的意义。)”可知,专家主要担忧的是文化习俗被过度商业化后,其原有的深层意义和价值会丧失。
14.细节理解题。根据文章第四段“They believe that the best way to save traditional culture is to keep it alive in people’s daily lives, rather than treating it merely as historical museum pieces.
The History of Global Migration(全球迁移的历史)范围过大;Tourism: A Threat to Local Arts(旅游业:对当地艺术的威胁)和How to Protect Fragile Traditions

37-year-old Swedish actor Timothy Pilotti uses physical comedy to bring cultural exchanges to the stage. Peking Opera has been a game changer for him, which led him to China and shaped his enthusiasm for cultural exchanges.
Pilotti had a childhood love for a Chinese film. “His films blended a lot of acrobatics (杂技) and comedy into the fight scenes,” Pilotti says. Unlike kung fu, primarily a martial art, Peking Opera caught his opinion as a theatrical form designed for the stage with a unique way of moving and fighting.
Pilotti decided to become an actor at an early age, studying at acting schools and majoring in physical theater at a Finnish university. During the third year in university, he got the first opportunity to study Peking Opera in China. “Some of my classmates went to India, for example, but my dream was to go to China — it was a no-brainer,” he says. In 2009, he and two other students arrived at the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in Beijing to study Peking Opera for six months.
Although he had no Chinese language skills or background in Peking Opera, teachers from the academy helped him grasp the essence of the performing art form through strict teaching and setting high standards.
Traditional Chinese stories enlighten Pilotti. He has created two theatre pieces in recent years, including a story about the Monkey King, the omnipotent (全能的) character from the novel Journey to the West. In the Monkey King, Pilotti embodies the character’s tangible characteristics through Peking Opera movements, inspiring his young audience members to be themselves. “The Monkey King is a famous character with many adaptations, so the kids already know a bit about him. But, when they can see the character closely in the show, it can be a surprise.”
“My dream now is to do more cultural exchanges and maybe create a show where Chinese Peking Opera and Swedish actors perform together.” Pilotti says.

In early 2026, a strange trend was sweeping TikTok and Instagram. A growing number of young people in the West were posting videos about their new daily routines — drinking a cup of warm water in the morning, wearing soft slippers at home, even boiling sliced apples to make a sweet drink. Their captions were strikingly similar: “I’m in my Chinese Era.” The trend can be traced back to December 6, 2025. Sherry Zhu, a 22-year-old Chinese American, posted a 20-second video with a playful announcement: “From tomorrow, you are turning Chinese. Don’t resist. It’s your destiny.” She then listed a series of simple rules — drinking hot water, wearing slippers indoors, and avoiding cold drinks in winter. The video quickly went viral. Young users began treating Sherry’s video as a challenge. They created their own “Chinese lifestyle checklists” and shared them online: warm water as soon as you wake up, slippers in every room, goji berry tea in a thermos (保温瓶), foot soaking before bed, and even learning Baduanjin — a type of traditional Chinese exercise. The hashtag (话题标签) #BecomingChinese has now been viewed hundreds of millions of times.
Why have so many young people embraced these Chinese habits? For some, it is simply about wellness. They report better digestion (消化), less bloating (腹胀), and higher energy levels after switching from cold drinks to warm water. For others, the appeal is deeper. Many Western Gen Zers, born between the late 1990s and early 2010s, are anxious about their own societies: rising living costs, stagnant (停滞的) wages, and a sense that the future is uncertain. Chinese daily life, as shown in these videos, appears stable, affordable, and balanced.
The trend is not just online. In the first three months of 2026, China’s exports of thermos flasks reached 5 billion yuan (about $732 million), up significantly from the same period last year. Tea exports also rose, as more Western consumers began brewing healthy Chinese teas at home. Many are even planning their first trip to China. As Sherry Zhu put it in an interview with People’s Daily in May 2026: “It’s not that I became famous. It’s that Chinese culture has become popular.”
8.What does the underlined phrase “went viral” in paragraph 1 most likely mean?
A.Became popular very quickly. B.Caused a serious disease.
C.Disappeared without a trace. D.Was criticized by many people.
9.According to paragraphs 2, what are two reasons why young Westerners are adopting Chinese habits?
A.Better health and economic anxiety. B.Government pressure and family tradition.
C.Travel plans and language learning. D.Fashion trends and peer competition.
10.Why does the author mention the increase in thermos flask exports in paragraph 3?
A.To prove that Chinese products are of high quality.
B.To show that the online trend has real economic effects.
C.To suggest that Westerners should buy more Chinese goods.
D.To compare China’s export volume with other countries’.
11.What can be inferred from the last paragraph about the future of Chinese culture?
A.It will become less popular among Westerners.
B.It will continue to influence global lifestyles.
C.It will focus mainly on tea and thermos exports.
D.It will lose its traditional elements over time.

Throughout history, human migration (人口迁移) has played a significant role in shaping the cultural identity of different regions, as people moving across borders bring their unique traditions together and create diverse landscapes in new lands.
Hawaii provides a vivid example of this dynamic (充满活力的) process. Originally inhabited (居住) solely by native Hawaiians, the islands witnessed successive (接连的) waves of immigrants from Asia, Europe, and the American mainland who, instead of completely replacing the native lifestyle, gradually formed a mixed society. These new settlers brought along their languages, religions, and food, which deeply influenced the local culture.
While visitors today are drawn to this inclusive (包容性的) atmosphere where they can experience hula dancing alongside foreign cuisine, some experts worry that these sacred (神圣的) customs might be over-commercialized, turning rich heritage into superficial (肤浅的) performances designed merely for profit. When beautiful traditions become simple shows to make money from tourists, they lose their original meanings.
An even greater challenge is that as global mainstream cultures become more dominant (占主导地位的), some fragile (脆弱的) traditions are facing the danger of fading away. To protect this cultural heritage, local organizations have shifted their focus to deeper preservation. They have introduced traditional culture courses in schools and provided financial support to local artists. They believe that the best way to save traditional culture is to keep it alive in people's daily lives, rather than treating it merely as historical museum pieces.
12.What can we learn about the formation of Hawaii’s culture?
A.It happened in a short time.
B.It was caused by modern tourism.
C.It resulted from continuous migration.
D.It was designed by local governments.
13.What is the experts’ main concern in Paragraph 3?
A.The rise of food prices.
B.The loss of cultural values.
C.The bad behaviors of visitors.
D.The conflict between different lifestyles.
14.How should traditional culture be saved according to the text?
A.By separating it from schools.
B.By storing fragile pieces in museums.
C.By limiting the number of tourists.
D.By making it a part of daily life.
15.Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A.The History of Global Migration
B.Hawaii’s Culture: Charm and Challenges
C.Tourism: A Threat to Local Arts
D.How to Protect Fragile Traditions

Li Na, a Chinese exchange student in the UK, felt a bit nervous when Mr. Smith asked each student to bring something that matters to them and share it with the class on Thursday. She sat in her seat quietly, thinking hard about what to bring. Suddenly, she remembered that the Lantern Festival happened to fall on next Friday. Her eyes lit up with excitement.
On Thursday, the classroom was filled with joy and laughter as students shared their beloved snacks and toys. When Li Na’s turn came, she rose, holding a wooden box. She opened it gently and took out a folded piece of red paper. With a few skillful folds and pulls, the paper magically turned into a beautiful lantern. She placed a candle inside and lit it carefully.
“What is it?” asked Emma, her deskmate. “It is amazing!”
Holding up the lantern, Li Na smiled and introduced the Lantern Festival — its traditions of hanging lanterns, guessing riddles (谜语), and eating sweet sticky rice balls called yuanxiao. “Red lanterns symbolize hope and reunion in Chinese culture,” she explained. “And this year, the festival happens to be on next Friday.”
Seeing how interested the students were, Mr. Smith walked over with a smile and said to Li Na, “Would you like to host a Lantern Festival party for the whole class next Friday night? I’m sure it will be a wonderful way to connect cultures.”
“I’d love to!” Li Na replied without hesitation.
Applause erupted in the classroom. But as she sat down, a little worry set in — how could she make the party really fun and unforgettable?
