What’s your dream job? How much do you know about it? A group of students from Tianjin found that most middle school students plan little for their future jobs because there is too little help from their school or family.
To guide students to make job plans, they started a project (项目) called “Dian Zhi Cheng Shi”. To meet the students’ needs, the team interviewed (采访) 32 people with different jobs and posted their interviews on TV shows. The people shared true stories behind each job to make students learn about the jobs in depth.
A team member Liu Jinyan said he thought being a painter was cool. But now he knows that painters have to face lots of problems. However, the project doesn’t mean to let students down by telling them the problems. “We want to show people’s love and hard work, not the bad sides,” said a team member Zhao Yajie. “The project’s name means to turn a job into a poem (诗). Some students enjoy music or sports, so they wish to be musicians or athletes like basketball or football players. About 15% of the students hope to become scientists. They decide to study hard to help our country’s development. Another 10% plan to start their own businesses. They think this will give them more freedom (自由) to do what they like, and they might achieve success and make a good living in the future. Other popular jobs include doctors, teachers, and drivers. ◇考点 02 重难语篇提升练
① What is your dream job? A study shows that more than 80% of children choose jobs they often see around them, like doctors and teachers—with teachers topping the list of kids’ dream jobs. But jobs such as cartoonists appear in less than 7% of their answers. This “visibility bias” holds back our imagination—we often overlook (忽略) jobs hidden outside our daily lives.
② Choosing a job is important because it needs to bring both money and job satisfaction (满足). If you don’t enjoy your job, your life won’t be as happy as you wish it to be, so you’d better look into different possibilities. Your dream job might be something you’ve never heard of before.
③ How can you start? First, think about what you’re fond of and what you’re good at. This will help shape your future work. For example, if numbers excite you, maybe you can be a scientist. If storytelling comes naturally, writing or film-making could be your choice. And remember to talk to teachers, parents and friends. They can share ideas about different jobs.
④ Also, think about future trends (趋势). Many jobs today, like website builders, weren’t around 50 years ago. New jobs like AI ethics advisors (伦理顾问) might appear when you grow up. So, on top of learning subjects, build skills such as creativity and critical thinking (批判性思维).
⑤ You don’t have to wait to plan. Join clubs, read books, or watch videos about different jobs. Remember: big dreams start with small actions. Whether you want to change the world or find happiness, planning today will help you reach your dreams tomorrow!

Do you know the job of a travel experience officer (旅行体验官)? It’s an interesting and cool job. Travel experience officers go to different places. They try many travel things, such as comfortable hotels and delicious food. They do many activities, like hiking in mountains, sailing (航海) on the sea, or joining festivals.
