Para.3-more information about the poem and the poet
Maya Angelou was an American black writer, poet, playwright, editor, actress, director and teacher. Growing up in a deprived environment in the slums(贫民窟), Angelou had worked as a cook, trolley conductor, waitress and dancer. She was also an active human rights writer.
This poem was created by Maya when she was 50 years old. In the 1960s, the United States presented serious racial discrimination issues and gender inequality problems. As a black woman, she suffered many unfair discriminations. Having experienced these incidents firsthand, she wanted to condemn the social phenomena at that time through poetry and awaken people's sense of equality.
Para.4 &5
According to the lecturer, what should you do when you “do not get it”?
What does the lecturer think of poems that are easy to understand? Do you agree with it? And why?
What if we really don’t fully understand a poem? What’s the author’s attitude towards it?
Why doesn’t the lecturer quote a poem as an example to support the fourth tip?
Para.6
Is the last paragraph necessary? If so, What’s the function of it?
The last paragraph echoes (相呼应) the beginning by mentioning it again, which makes the lecture more coherent (连贯的).

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

And miles to go before I sleep,
