16. A 17. B 18. B 19. A 20. C
Dolphins are seen as the friendliest animals in the sea. We have heard of lots of stories about them helping people and ships. The more we learn about dolphins, the more we realize that their society is not as simple as people imagined before. They look after other dolphins when they are sick. They care for the oldest dolphins and protect the weakest dolphins in the community, just as we do. Some scientists have pointed out that dolphins have their own language. But it is much more probable that they communicate with each other without words. Could any of these mammals be smarter than people? Many people argue that we can kill them more easily than they can kill us. So we are still smarter than they are. However, that may be because we still know too little about them. If we discover more, we won’t think we are smarter when we destroy them.

22. The 2025 Jiangsu Super League (“Su Chao”) is very popular. Though some teams can’t enter the final, their players’ fighting spirit always ________ high.

—________ it is blowing so hard, let’s stay at home instead of going out.

Because因为;Since既然,因为;As由于;Though尽管。 可知,这是感叹句,中心词是名词typhoon,且typhoon是可数名词单数形式,所以此处用“What a”引导感叹句;第二空,根据“it is blowing so hard, let’s stay at home instead of going out.”
25. Wars are disasters. A lot of people will lose their homes whenever a terrible war_____.
A. breaks out B. is broken out
C. breaks down D. is broken down
【答案】A
breaks out爆发;breaks down分解。 故选A。
26. —Let’s donate some money and clothes to the poor children in the west.
—Sounds good. But I think what really ________ to them is good education.
A. matters B. cares C. minds D. admires
【答案】A

A. hardly; hard B. hard; hardly C. hardly; hardly D. hard; hard
根据“It rained so”可知,空一处是形容雨下得大,用hard;根据“people could ... travel around easily”可知,空二处表示人们几乎无法轻松出行,用hardly。故选B。
28. Most children ________ our age in China live a happy life while the children in other parts of the world still live ________ fear of their lives.
A. of; on B. at; with C. at; on D. of; in
of……的;on在……上面;at在;with和;in在……
29. To let the students experience the strong local color of ________, Mr. Smith took them to a music festival last weekend.
A. rock B. country music C. folk D. classical music
30. When we read and meet new words below, we can ________.
One day, when Daxiong was sleepwalking, his grandson arrived from the future and told him about his unluckiness in the future.
A. try to guess what comes next B. read the text quickly to get the main idea
C. guess their meanings by the way they are formed D. move our eyes quickly to look for specific information
C “guess their meanings by the way they are formed”。
31. It usually takes parents ________ energy, time and money to bring their children up, so the children should be thankful to their parents all the time.
A. a number of B. a great many C. a lot D. a great deal of
a number of后接可数名词的复数形式;a great many后接可数名词的复数形式;a lot许多、大量,修饰动词或形容词、副词的比较级;a great deal of后接不可数名词。根据空后不可数名词“energy, time and money”可知,故选D。
32. —My mom says I can watch TV ________ I finish my homework. But she doesn’t allow ________ up late.
—That’s quite right. Enough sleep is important to you.
A. as soon as; to stay B. as soon as; staying C. when; to stay D. while; staying
as soon as一……就;when什么时候;while当……时。根据“I can watch TV…I finish my homework”可知,第一空需要表示“做完作业后就能看电视”,强调动作的立即性,“as soon as”意思是“一……
33. ________ to write music for the Beijing Olympics, Tan Dun ________ the traditional Chinese music and modern Western music together in his works.
A. Chosen; bringing B. Choosing; brought C. Chosen; brought D. Choosing; bringing
34. —How do you like the Shanghai Tennis Open?
—________. Large numbers of spectators (观众) were greatly impressed by it.
A. Come on B. Don’t mention it
C. It couldn’t be better D. I can’t agree more
Come on快点;Don’t mention it不客气;It couldn’t be better再好不过;I can’t agree more我完全同意。根据后句“Large numbers of spectators were greatly impressed by it.” It couldn’t be better。
35. My American friend Sam is interested in Taixing very much. He wonders ________.
A. that people in Taixing live a happy life B. who designs Changtai Bridge
C. when was Wanda Plaza built D. if is Taixing morning tea famous
that people in Taixing live a happy life泰兴人过着幸福的生活;who designs Changtai Bridge谁设计了常泰大桥;when was Wanda Plaza built万达广场是什么时候建成的;if is Taixing morning tea famous泰兴早茶是否有名。根据“He wonders…”

And并且;So所以;But但是;Or或者。根据“But is it a good way? … what do you know about the Q-tip?” 故选A。
by hand手工;by mistake错误地;by accident偶然;by choice自愿地。
根据“If you lined them up, you could go to the moon and back more than three times!”
根据下文“go to the moon and back more than three times”可知,往返月球三次多,说明棉签数量极多,millions of“数百万的”能体现数量庞大,“thousands/hundreds/tens”数量过少,与下文描述不符。故选A。
Although虽然;Because因为;If如果;Before在……之前。分析句子结构和语义可知,上文“Q-tips were made to clean inside the ears”与后文“the truth is that our ears are perfectly able to clean themselves”存在让步关系,即“虽然用途是清理耳朵,但其实不用清理”,应用Although引导从句。故选A。
burns out烧尽;comes out出来;sells out售完;takes out取出。根据“our ears are perfectly able to clean themselves”可知,耳朵自我清洁的方式是让多余耳垢自然出来;“burns out”和“sells out”与耳垢无关,“takes out”需人为操作,不符合“自然清洁”,应用“comes out”。
must必须;should应该;can能够;need需要。根据“when we clean the outside of our ears”可知,清洁耳朵外部时洗掉耳垢是可能做到的事,而非“必须/应该/需要”做的事,“can”表示“可能性”,符合语境。
根据“they can actually push earwax deeper into the ears and even hurt our…”
根据“Understanding our bodies’ natural way of cleaning can help our ears stay healthy.”

A fireworks show on the Himalayas
In September 2025, artist Cai Guoqiang and outdoor brand Arc’teryx (始祖鸟) worked together. They held a big fireworks show on the Himalayas, a famous high mountain range called the “Roof of the World”. The fireworks looked like a “rising dragon” along the mountain at 5,500 meters high.
Cai and Arc’teryx had good hopes. They said the show wanted to “respect nature” and told the idea of “never stopping” from Chinese culture. Cai is known for using nature as his “canvas” ( 画布)—he once made fireworks “big footprints” for the Beijing Olympics. Arc’teryx said it cared about mountains and outdoor spirit. They thought this art project could connect nature, art and their brand.
But things went wrong. Many people got angry. They asked, “Will the fireworks hurt the animals and plants there?” In fact, the Himalayas have a very fragile environment. Even small pollution can stay for years. The loud noise might scare rare animals like blue sheep into running away and leave some baby animals behind. Later, local people found a lot of rubbish like firework boxes, plastic lids at the scene.
After several days of heated discussion online, facing the serious fact, Cai and Arc’teryx said sorry on September 21. They promised to fix the problem and check the environmental influence. Local officials also started an investigation (调查).
This event makes people think: Can art or business hurt nature? Many say nature is not a stage for shows. Protecting and respecting nature means stepping back to leave it space, not disturbing and using it. Keep mountains away from noise, and let them grow calmly in their own way.
56. What did the fireworks look like during the show on the Himalayas?
A. A flying bird. B. A rising dragon. C. A running horse. D. A swimming fish.
57. What does the word “fragile” probably mean?
A. easy to break or hurt B. very big C. hard to reach D. full of life
58. What can we infer from the passage?
A. The Himalayas are easy to recover after pollution. B. The fireworks show made no one angry.
C. Cai and Arc’teryx didn’t keep their promise well. D. Blue sheep like the loud noise of fireworks.
59. According to the passage, the writer’s attitude (态度) towards the fireworks show on the Himalayas may be ________.
A. supportive B. curious C. angry D. excited
60. Which is the best title for the passage?
A. A beautiful fireworks show on the Himalayas B. Arc’teryx: A popular outdoor brand
C. Cai Guoqiang’s famous art work D. Himalayan fireworks: art or mistake?

①Historically, people explored (探索) the ocean to travel or to start new trade lines. Today, ocean exploration centers on the ocean itself.
②Recently, new technology has made it easier to dive into the deep sea. Better submarines (潜水艇), robots and cameras allow scientists to explore areas people couldn’t reach before. China’s Mengxiang deep-ocean drilling vessel (钻井船) is among the list.
③This vessel, with the world’s deepest record, can reach up to 11,000 metres below the sea surface. It can help us better understand, protect and make use of the ocean.
④ ★ Believe it or not, we know more about space than the deep sea. Since 1969, twelve people have walked on the moon, but only three have dived to the Mariana Trench’s (马里亚纳海沟) deepest point. Although the ocean covers about 71 per cent of the earth’s surface, 95 per cent of it is unexplored.
⑤Why does so much of the ocean remain unknown? Part of the answer is that it’s difficult to explore. Sure, it’s hard to get a spaceship into space. But it’s also not a fun afternoon swim to get a person to the bottom of the ocean. A trip to the Mariana Trench, for example, would feel like 50 giant planes were piled on top of you. And remember that in space, you can see things. The deep sea, however, is hopelessly dark. Getting a light down there that can shine far enough to see anything is no easy task.
⑥However, ocean exploration is worth the risk and cost. The ocean influences all of us. It plays a role in everything from the air we breathe, the food we eat and the transportation of the goods we buy to weather and long-term climate changes.
61. How does the writer start the topic?

63. Why does the writer mention space in the text?
A. To prove the interest of ocean exploration. B. To show the necessity of space exploration.
C. To show the difficulty of ocean exploration D. To prove the importance of space exploration.
64. What can we know from the passage?
A. More people will dive to the deep sea than will step on the moon.
B. Humans will learn all about the ocean in the near future.
C. Giant planes will make it easier to dive deep into the sea.
D. To know more about the ocean, there is a long way to go.

As young people, many of us dream of becoming “somebody” when we grow up. However, without enough courage or support, we often feel far away from this imagined goal. At times, strange thoughts come into our minds: Should we just give up and “lie flat” instead?
Not the little piggy and his three friends from the animated (动画的) movie Nobody (无名之辈).
This past summer, their story made people laugh and encouraged tens of millions of moviegoers across China. The four little, nameless monsters (妖怪) dress up as characters from the famous film Journey to the West. They leave Langlang Mountain and set out on their own pilgrimage Along the way, many other monsters laugh at their dreams. But the little pig and his friends don’t give up. They keep fighting “bad guys”, trying to live their own life.
Some say that Nobody is not just a movie, rather, it’s more like a mirror. In real life, many common people also choose to hold on to their dreams, even though they face great difficulties. One of them is Pang Zhongwang, now a star student graduating from Tsinghua University. Twenty-six years ago, however, he was born a poor “nobody” in a countryside of Hebei. His late (已故的) mother had a disability and couldn’t work. His father had a serious mental(精神) illness. Even though there were all these challenges, Pang, under his mother’s influence, grew up strong and happy. He started to take on family duties when he was very young. And deep in his heart, this “nobody” also dreamed of becoming “somebody”. He always achieved excellent grades in school through hard work. In 2017, he caught national attention by scoring an impressive 684 out of 750 in the gaokao.
Pang was luckier than the four monsters in Nobody. He was much closer to his dream of becoming “somebody”. The piggy and his friends, however, fail in their pilgrimage. But their courage is now remembered by many. In a way, they have grown to become “somebodies”, too.
Now, what do you want to do with your big dreams? Clearly, if you “lie flat”, you’ll remain a “nobody”. We wish you good luck as you try to break out of your own “Langlang Mountain”!
66. What do the four little monsters do when other monsters laugh at their dreams?
A. They give up and lie flat. B. They try to live their own life.
C. They feel sad about it. D. They are discouraged by the laughs.
67. How does the writer explain Nobody is more like a mirror in real life?
A. By giving an example of Pang B. By drawing a picture of a mirror
C. By listing numbers D. By introducing a film
68. Which of the following can be inferred from the passage?
A. The four monsters in Nobody will surely achieve their dream of becoming famous.
B. Pang Zhongwang’s mother’s illness had no influence on his growth.
C. “Lie flat” will prevent one from realizing their big dreams.
D. All common people who hold on to their dreams can become “somebody” easily.
69. What challenges made Pang Zhongwang just a poor “nobody”?
① He was born in a poor countryside. ② He worked hard to take on his family duties.
③ His mother had a disability and couldn’t work. ④ He achieved high grades in school.
⑤ His father had a serious mental illness
A. ①②③ B. ①③⑤ C. ②③④ D. ②④⑤
70. What does the underlined phrase “Langlang Mountain” refer to (指代)?
A. The mountain in the film Nobody. B. The four little monsters.

She did it not because she hated her job, but because her job was getting in the way of her true love. She has been interested in Chongming traditional fabric (织物), made from cotton and colored with plant dyes (染料) since she was a girl. She learned how to weave (编织) the cloth from her mother.
Before leaving her job, Song had been using her after-work time to design, sew and weave everything with her own hands. Learning about the world is part of growing up. I learn through books about people in different times and places. At home, my parents teach me how to be a kind person. Besides, I have learned how to get along with classmates and teachers at school.
However, there are difficulties during the journey. For example, I couldn’t achieve a balance between schoolwork and hobbies. Luckily, my teacher Mr. Li advised me to manage my time well.
So, it is Mr. Li who has a great influence on me. He is a person of great wisdom. He teaches me not only the knowledge in books but also the knowledge out of books. Whenever I feel worried, I will go to ask him for advice.
Though growing up is hard for teenagers, we should never lose heart when meeting with difficulties. Our parents, teachers and classmates will always be there for us.

A. By doing a survey. B. By making a comparison.(比较)
C. By asking a question. D. By showing a study.
62. Which of the following can be put into ★ in paragraph 4?
A. Humans actually don’t know much about the ocean.
B. Humans have different ways to explore the ocean.
C. Humans have done a lot to explore the deep ocean.
D. Humans actually know nothing about the deep ocean.
65. Which of the following can show the structure of the passage?
A. ①/②③/④⑤/⑥ B. ①②/③/④/⑤⑥ C. ①/②/③④/⑤⑥ D. ①/②③④/⑤/⑥
D
C. The success that we achieved finally. D. The difficulties that stop us being “somebody”.

Song Rongyao, from Shanghai’s Chongming Island used to have a steady (稳定的) job. Four years ago, she finally decided to give up her job.
At first, the small items she made became a hit in the office. “When the things you make are liked by others, you’ll find yourself enjoying doing more and more,” Song said. Later, her name spread and she soon found that many women on the island were into handicrafts (手工艺品) like her. Her childhood playmates, friends and even strangers joined her.
A turning point came when Song and her team were having a small exhibition in a park. A crowd of people were around them to see what they were doing. Not long after that, she decided to make Chongming Traditional Fabric official. Cotton-Tree Flowers Bloom Workshop was set up in 2013. And her workshop became a place filled with happiness. By designing and making all kinds of cloth items and selling them, the women have achieved a lot and have also found their own value.
Soon, more and more women joined. Besides bringing tourists to their workshop to watch the process of making Chongming traditional fabric, Song started to give free classes to poor groups. They started Mama Moon Single Mothers’ Club, a training program for single mothers. They started Happiness on Fingertips, another program for people with disabilities.
Running the club has enabled Song, who was very shy to do something she could never do before, such as communicating with all kinds of people. Song considers the workshop as a symbol of independence and she hopes it will help more women to fight for a better life on their own.
