doing
having done
being done
having been done

Fifteen million trees were blown down by the high winds, blocking roads, paths and railway lines.1 500
I hurried to the booking office, only to be told that the tickets had been sold out.

Being ill,he didn’t attend the wedding.
(he与Being ill是逻辑上的主谓关系→He was ill.)
She being ill,her mother had to look after her at home.
strictly/technically speaking严格说来
judging from/by根据……来判断
considering.../taking...into consideration考虑到……
Generally speaking,as a foreign language,Chinese is more difficult to learn than English.
Judging from/by his tone, there’s no doubt he is against it.
Though lacking money, his parents managed to send him to university.
=Though they lacked money, his parents managed to send him to university.
Generally speaking,if taken according to the directions, the drug has no side effect.
Treated as his good friend,I am on the edge of my seat.

As an important part of our everyday lives, music is increasingly being used in medical treatment.Besides proving very useful in cancer treatment, managing long-term pain and even helping the brain recover after a stroke, researchers have been making great progress in using music to help patients with dementia(失智症).It reduces patients’ anxiety or stress, lifts their spirits, and improves their performance at work.
So why does music appear to have such a powerful effect on people with dementia? About ten years ago, researchers discovered that when people listened to music, many areas of the brain took part in processing it.Research has also shown music might help the brain and its connections grow strong again. It is believed that music could help people with dementia by fixing or strengthening damaged neural(神经的) connections and cells.
It’s not just any music that has a great effect on the brain, though.Familiar and favourite music has been shown to have the biggest influence on the way we feel, and is closely connected with memory and emotions. This is because listening to our favourite songs helps to produce feel-good hormones(荷尔蒙) that give us a sense of pleasure.During and after listening to favourite music, people with dementia experienced less pain and anxiety, and their general feelings improved.
Other researchers have even begun testing the effects of music training programs to support cognition(认知) for people with dementia. Results have been promising so far, with adults in the study showing improved conditions, compared to those who took part in just physical exercise.
So,music is likely to continue to be a useful medical treatment for people with dementia. But based on what we know so far,it’s important that it comes from the patient’s own music collection and is used together with other medical treatments such as taking medicine.

“Who are you?” asked two men to a third person who had just interrupted their conversation onstage.“I am a national treasure,” he replied with pride and a smile.“A national treasure? You are...Fu Bao,or Huahua?” they responded uncertainly.
That drew a sound of laughing from the audience, for Fu Bao and Huahua are two famous giant pandas, whose photos and videos have become an Internet hit.
The dialogue was even funnier because it was inserted(插入) into a play about ancient history titled Joyful Songs in Flourishing Age,recently presented at the National Museum of China. The play’s creators said they added in bits of contemporary culture to make it lively and get it across to today’s audiences. The primary inspiration for the performance also was a figure of fun—an ancient pottery(陶器) statue of a comedian beating a drum. The 56-centimeter-tall statue is characterized by his wide smile and a lively position—he holds a flat drum with one arm and a drumstick in the opposite hand, and he raises a leg in a noticeable movement.
The museum’s purpose in hosting the play was to cooperate with other cultural and educational institutions to bring old cultural objects to life. The show was meant to help more people learn not only about the clay figure itself, but also about ancient Chinese art and culture.“The music and many other kinds of Baixi performing arts have been put into the plot.”
Yang,a professor at the Communication University of China, says producing the play inspired great creativity among her cooperators and the production was an exploratory effort of the museum to bring about the various presentation of their collections. While they asked for help from researchers at the National Museum of China for historical details, they also added elements of imagination and, especially, pop culture, such as rap and the giant panda fever,to enrich the dialogue and singing and to help people relate to the show.

What makes great storytelling for film? There are some tips for filmmakers about the art of it.
One of the most important elements is how the story is told.Great movies can throw curveballs(曲线球) that you don’t see coming. 1 The standard structure for any kind of storytelling is to introduce your characters, setting and genre at the start.Any problems should be encountered somewhere in the middle of the story. 2 If you’ve got a brilliant story, think about what would happen if you began your film with the ending.Try experimenting with the timing of events, and how the order can impact the audience’s view.
With a clear structure, you should consider how to grab the audience’s attention quickly. 3 Your story may be wonderful, but if it takes too long to get into, you might lose your audience before you’ve got going. With so much competition, you need to act fast.Pay particular attention to the first 10 pages of your script.Let somebody read your script and ask them whether they want to continue on after 10 pages. 4
Understanding your audience is an important step.Who will want to watch this movie? What do they like doing and what interests them? 5 That can make it more attractive to the target audience.See if you can gather some statistic from any films that are similar to the same genre. From this, you can judge who usually enjoys the genre, and who you can tailor your screenplay to.
All in all, everything that goes into making a film, from costume choices to special effects,is there to reinforce the story.Next time, let’s talk more about the topic.
A.The end involves the issues being resolved.
B.Don’t forget to focus on character development.
C.In the modern world everything moves at a fast speed.
D.If so,that desire can be ten times stronger in your film.
