Passage A
How important is music? Many people usually think that listening to music is nice but not very important. It is often only thought to be entertainment (娱乐), but not the first choice for education. 1 In fact, music education is much more necessary (必要的) than people usually think.
2 Music reflects the musicians’ thoughts and ideas, and the social environment they came from. For example, just as Mozart’s music represents (代表) a lifestyle, rock music also represents a lifestyle. George Gershwin’s music is another example. 3
Music provides a kind of ability to know the world in a different way. Science explains how the sun rises and sets. Music explores emotional meanings, such as sadness and happiness. People need every possible way to learn about our world. Music shows people’s thoughts. 4 We can “talk” to each other and exchange (交换) our thoughts in this amazing way. Through the language we express our feelings, discoveries, ideas and hopes. All of these can be shared with others. When we do not let our children receive a good music education, we take them away from the meanings that music expresses. Our children are lacking (缺乏) a wonderful part in their lives. 5
A.This opinion is wrong.
B.It’s a special language.
C.Music tells us who we are.
D.Music makes our lives colorful.
E.He introduced jazz style into his music.
F.So music education is necessary for all students.
G.We can’t express our opinions and emotions through music.
Music reflects the musicians' thoughts and ideas, and the social environment they came from.
Music reflects the musicians' thoughts and ideas, and the social environment。they came from 是定语从句,修饰 the social environment(省略了关系代词 that/which)。reflects 后接两个并列宾语:thoughts and ideas 和 the social environment。定语从句 they came from 中的 from 不能省略,因为 come from 是固定短语。
When we do not let our children receive a good music education, we take them away from the meanings that music expresses.
6. 分析:When 引导时间状语从句,主句是 we take them away from the meanings。 take... away from...
【答案】1.A 2.C 3.E 4.B 5.F
3.前文以莫扎特、摇滚音乐为例,又提到乔治·格什温的音乐是另一个例子,E选项“He introduced jazz style into his music.”

PassageB
(24-25九上·河北邯郸育华中学·)In traditional Chinese performing arts, there are many classic roles, like Sheng, Dan, Jing, Mo and Chou. Most people usually pay little attention to Chou. However, it is a very important part in traditional Chinese operas. The reason is that it joins beauty and ugliness together perfectly. In the past, the Chou performer was the first one to get dressed and have his make-up done.
Usually there are two kinds of Chou on the stage, Wen Chou and Wu Chou. Wen Chou often has a white patch (小块) painted around his nose and takes the roles of fisherman, boatman, servant and so on. The other kind is Wu Chou. Wu Chou performers often wear tight clothing (紧身衣) and move quickly. They are good at martial arts (武术) and can jump several meters high. They usually express themselves in loud voices and play humorous roles, for example, kind thieves.
Chou performers often make people laugh by their spoken parts and body language, instead of singing skills. Whether they look ugly or beautiful, whether the roles they play are officials or thieves on the stage, Chou roles are all humorous characters in funny faces. They use the roles of Chou to bring out the good qualities in people. Maybe it is the charm (魅力) of traditional Chinese operas.
Next time, when you are enjoying a traditional Chinese opera, you can probably understand the different beauty behind it.
1.The role of Chou is important in traditional Chinese operas because ________.
A.most people usually pay much attention to it B.it joins beauty and ugliness together perfectly
C.the Chou performer was the first to get dressed D.it is funny and makes people laugh and feel happy
2.Which picture is the role of Chou in traditional Chinese operas?
A. B. C. D.
3.Chou performers often use ________ to make people laugh on the stage.
A.dancing skills and spoken parts B.spoken parts and body language
C.painting skills and spoken parts D.singing skills and body language
4.What can be the best title of the passage?
A.Roles in Chinese Operas B.Chou in Chinese Operas
C.Stories about Chinese Operas D.History of Chinese Operas
The reason is that it joins beauty and ugliness together perfectly.
分析:The reason is that...
Whether they look ugly or beautiful, whether the roles they play are officials or thieves on the stage, Chou roles are all humorous characters in funny faces.
分析:两个 Whether... or... Chou roles are all humorous characters in funny faces。在第二个 whether 从句中,they play 是定语从句修饰 roles(省略了关系代词 that)。
They use the roles of Chou to bring out the good qualities in people.
They use the roles of Chou,to bring out the good qualities in people 是不定式作目的状语。use... to do...
第一段“The reason is that it joins beauty and ugliness together perfectly”,直接说明丑角在中国传统戏曲里十分重要的原因是它完美融合了美与丑。
2.第二段介绍文丑特征:“Wen Chou often has a white patch painted around his nose”,丑角独有的标志是鼻子周围画白色小块,对应图片C。
3.第三段写明表演方式:“Chou performers often make people laugh by their spoken parts and body language”,表明丑角通常依靠念白和肢体语言逗观众发笑。

“Click, click, click...” The drummer hit the drumsticks against each other to give a beat, and the band started to play. Kai played a guqin solo, and for most of the show, he played along with the rhythm of the drums. The band played faster and faster. Kai’s classmates jumped to their feet, clapping and screaming. When the music ended, there was an awkward (尴尬的) silence. They all looked at the teachers.
Mr Li asked, “What were you trying to express?”
Kai murmured, “I wanted to do something different...to modernize the guqin’s sound.”
“Well, it’s a good try. But you know it has over 3,000 years of history. I don’t think you’ve presented the characteristics well,” said Mr Li. “The music was...We could hardly hear the guqin,” added Miss Zhou. “I’m afraid I can’t give you high marks.”
“Please, can I have another chance?” begged Kai.
They finally agreed.
Alone in the hall later, Kai sat in his chair, feeling a little sad. “I understand what you were trying to do,” Kai looked up and saw Miss Zhou by his side. “But before you can break the rules, you have to master them.”
Kai was puzzled. What did she mean?
“The guqin is connected to nature. The bottom board represents the ground, and the rounded top board represents the sky. A wonderful guqin performance shows the harmony (和谐) between people and nature.”
“Miss Zhou, is it fine to play the guqin with other instruments?”
“Because it is so quiet,” replied Miss Zhou, “it’s usually played alone. Sometimes, it can be played with the dizi or another guqin. Every note matters. And you know, there’s Chinese philosophy (哲理) behind every form of art. That’s what makes Chinese art special. We should try hard to keep the value of traditions and connect them with modern life.”
“Is it true that Confucius played the guqin?”
“Exactly. Confucius believed that music was necessary for a well-rounded education. It could help a person develop his inner self.”
“Can I make it modern?” Kai was wondering if he had asked a stupid question.
“Ancient musicians followed traditions to show respect. To modernize it, try to find the right way to keep the value. How will you change your piece?”
“I’m not sure yet,” said Kai. “But I’m going to do something different again.”
That night, Kai kept thinking about the next show. “How can I present the guqin and balance the traditional spirit with a modern touch?” he wondered.
Then, he had an idea...
1.In Kai’s teachers’ eyes, he didn’t ________.
A.play the drums well B.work well with others
C.express personal feelings D.show the guqin’s value
2.Which of the following is the correct order of the story?
a. Miss Zhou gave her advice to Kai.
b. The classmates kept a short silence.
c. Kai asked for another chance to play.
d. The teachers pointed out Kai’s problem.
e. Kai played the guqin with drum rhythms.
A.a-e-d-c-b B.e-b-d-c-a C.e-a-b-d-c D.a-b-d-e-c
3.What lesson has Kai learned from his experience?
A.Strict rules will stop our creativity in music.
B.Traditional instruments should be modernized.
C.Creation requires us to understand the tradition first.
D.The guqin is necessary for a well-rounded education.
4.What might we hear in Kai’s next show?
A.Pop music in a traditional style. B.Folk music with local colour.
C.Country music in a Western style. D.Rock music with drums and dizi.
Kai played a guqin solo, and for most of the show, he played along with the rhythm of the drums.
前半句是 Kai played a guqin solo,后半句是 he played along with the rhythm of the drums,其中 for most of the show 作时间状语,置于谓语动词之前。along with 意为“随着、连同”,play along with the rhythm 表示“跟着节奏演奏”。for most of the show 表示“在演出的大部分时间里”,for 接时间段。
But before you can break the rules, you have to master them.”
Ancient musicians followed traditions to show respect. To modernize it, try to find the right way to keep the value.”
Ancient musicians followed traditions,to show respect 第二句中,To modernize it 是不定式短语作目的状语,放于句首起强调作用,主干是 try to find the right way,to keep the value 是不定式作后置定语修饰 way。
【答案】1.D 2.B 3.C 4.A
根据“But you know it has over 3,000 years of history. I don’t think you’ve presented the characteristics well”、“The music was...We could hardly hear the guqin”以及“I’m afraid I can’t give you high marks...we could hardly hear the guqin”可知老师认为Kai没有很好地展现古琴的价值。故选D。
根据“Kai played a guqin solo, and for most of the show, he played along with the rhythm of the drums”可知Kai和着鼓的节奏弹奏古琴,e排在首位,排除AD;根据“When the music ended, there was an awkward (尴尬的) silence”可知同学们沉默了一会儿,b排在第二,排除C。故选B。
根据“But before you can break the rules, you have to master them.”以及“To modernize it, try to find the right way to keep the value.”
根据“How can I present the guqin and balance the traditional spirit with a modern touch?” 故选A。

Passage2
Want to know what your friends are really like? Take a look at their music playlist. More than 36,000 people, from all over the world, took part in an experiment (实验). It compared their personalities with how much they liked different musical styles. The results show that personalities do influence what we listen to. Here’s what certain musical styles say about who you are.
Rock
Like the sound of loud guitars and heavy drum beats? This type of music sounds very exciting, but fans of it are often quite gentle.
Country music
If cowboy hats and guitars get you singing along, it’s possible that you’re hard-working, preferring traditional styles and values.
Jazz
Fans of this strong music always come up with new ideas and are good at learning. If you like the saxophone of John Coltrane, then you’re probably self-confident and easy to get on with.
Classical music
If Beethoven and Mozart have you turning up the music, you’re probably quiet, but happy with who you are and comfortable with the world around you.
But the experiment didn’t tell the whole story: where we grow up, who we often go out with, and our personal experiences play into our taste, too. The songs you choose to be part of your life make you different from others. But no matter what style you like, music is for everyone. And enjoying different types of music lets you get a taste of cultures you might not have experienced before. So experiment with your playlist!
1.What influences our musical taste according to the experiment?
A.Personalities. B.Friends. C.Parents. D.Instruments.
2.According to the passage, if Daniel is creative, what may be found in his playlist?
A.Rock. B.Country music. C.Jazz. D.Classical music.
3.What may be the writer’s advice for us?
A.Changing our personalities. B.Trying different types of music.
C.Doing experiments with friends. D.Getting more learning experiences.
4.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.How different cultures influence you. B.What your playlist says about you.
C.What songs we can choose to enjoy. D.Why there are different musical styles.
It compared their personalities with how much they liked different musical styles.
It compared their personalities with...,how much they liked different musical styles 是宾语从句,作介词 with 的宾语。compare A with B 意为“把A和B进行比较”。
The songs you choose to be part of your life make you different from others.
分析:主语是 The songs,后面跟定语从句 you choose to be part of your life(省略了关系代词 that/which),谓语是 make,宾语是 you,different from others 是宾语补足语。

Passage 1
A lot of people take up dancing as an after-school hobby. In fact, dancing has been considered one of the best exercises to fight bad feelings in recent years.
When you dance, you move your body to different kinds of music, which helps your body produce a lot of endorphins (内啡肽) that can make you feel relaxed and happy.
While simply listening to music or doing sports can cheer us up, mixing them gives better results. In a study, a group of scientists tested some groups of patients under three conditions: dancing with music, listening to music, riding bikes without music. The results showed that the first group was the least depressed (沮丧的) .
Dancing can bring people together, too. Whether it’s Tango (探戈) or any other Latin (拉丁) dance, people need to move with others. This can improve their sense of social bonding.
Dancing also helps people let go of bad feelings. Studies have found that depression often has to do with sadness about the past or worries about the future. However, dancing helps people focus more on the present moment and free their mind for a while.
Lauren Helper, a social worker, pointed out that if people enjoy music, dancing can be a helpful way to reduce stress. She also said that dancing can be done in many ways, whether it’s by moving around the house to a song or going out dancing with friends. The important part is that it is fun.
1.What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?
A.How hard it is to get endorphins.
B.What kinds of music people like best.

D.Why dancing makes people relaxed and happy.

A.Riding a bike. B.Taking a walk.
C.Listening to a song. D.Dancing with music.
3.What does the underlined word “bonding” in Paragraph 4 mean?
A.Order. B.Service. C.Connection. D.Competition.
4.What can we learn from Lauren Helper’s words in the last paragraph?
A.Soft music is the best for dancing.
B.People can reduce stress by dancing.
C.Dancing is difficult for most people.
D.Young people prefer to dance with friends.
5.What is the best structure of the passage?
A.①②/③/④⑤⑥ B.①/②③④⑤/⑥
C.①/②③④/⑤⑥ D.①②③④/⑤⑥
【答案】1.D 2.D 3.C 4.B 5.B

4.最后一段Lauren Helper指出“dancing can be a helpful way to reduce stress”,即跳舞能帮助减压。
Passage 2
The 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala was broadcast around the world on Chinese New Year’s Eve. One wonderful cultural show was called Ode to the Flower Gods (贺花神). It got its idea from the White Jade Twelve-Month Pendants (白玉十二生肖挂件) in the Palace Museum. The show beautifully mixes twelve months, twelve flowers, and twelve famous historical figures into one poetic program. It shows the beauty of traditional Chinese culture and tells us how flowers can stand for great qualities and valuable ideas.
The show is special because each flower is matched with a person who has a similar spirit. Among them are seven great writers, such as Lin Bu, Lu You, Zhou Dunyi, Xu Wei, Tao Yuanming, Li Qingzhao and Bai Juyi. Their good qualities are just like the meanings of plum blossoms (梅花), apricot blossoms (杏花), lotuses (荷花), hollyhocks (蜀葵), chrysanthemums (菊花), sweet osmanthus (桂花) and camellias (山茶花). The show also includes four famous women: Xi Furen, Yang Yuhuan, Wang Zhaojun and LuoShen. They are connected with peach blossoms, peonies, cotton roses and daffodils. Zhang Qian, who brought pomegranates (石榴) to China, shows the brave spirit of the pomegranate flower. In this way, the show changes the old idea that only women can be flower gods. It fully shows the traditional Chinese idea of “finding virtues in flowers”.
With the help of advanced AIGC technology, the show brings real performers and digital pictures together perfectly. On the stage, the twelve jade pendants finally form a full circle, which stands for the cycle of time and the beauty of harmony. Ode to the Flower Gods is more than a great artistic show; it helps people feel closer to their own culture through lively symbols. It keeps traditional culture alive in the digital age and shows the spirit of Chinese civilization with soft but strong cultural confidence.

Passage A
How important is music?

They use the roles of Chou,to bring out the good qualities in people 是不定式作目的状语。use... to do...

B.What kinds of music people like best.
