Text 2
A group of young tour guides in Wuzhou once had a special practice. Their trainer asked them to introduce the Chinese zodiac to visitors from different places. The topic sounded familiar, but it was not easy to explain in clear English. The guides had to avoid long, confusing sentences and choose simple examples.
During the first practice, one guide only named the twelve animals. The trainer stopped him and asked, “What can visitors learn from these names?” Then the guide added that Ox shows hard work, Tiger shows bravery, and Dog shows trustiness. Another guide told the legend of Rat and Ox, but she spoke too fast. The trainer reminded her to pause after important information so listeners could follow.
After several rounds, the guides improved a lot. They learned to begin with the 12-year cycle, then explain two or three animal meanings, and finally share one short story. When real visitors arrived the next day, the guides spoke confidently. One visitor said, “Now I understand why these animals are part of Chinese culture.” The practice taught the guides that good cultural communication needs knowledge, order and respect for listeners.

A. Drawing all animals.
B. Buying guidebooks.
C. Explaining the zodiac clearly in English.
D. Finding the training room.

A. He told a long legend.
B. He asked visitors to leave.

A. Because she forgot the animals.
B. Because she spoke too fast.

A. Begin with the 12-year cycle.
B. Sell postcards.
C. Ask private questions.
D. End with a test.
30. What does good cultural communication need according to the passage?
A. Speed, noise and games.
B. Money, gifts and food.

Text 3
Many traditional culture products are becoming popular with young people. Zodiac-themed postcards, phone cases and cloth bags can be seen in museums, bookshops and tourist markets. They are not only useful products but also small carriers of cultural meaning. When a product shows Rabbit with careful lines or Horse with a forward movement, it quietly tells a cultural story.
Good design does not simply put an animal picture on a product. Designers need to understand the symbolic meaning first. They also need to think about where the product will be used and who will buy it. If a postcard is made for foreign visitors, a short English note may be necessary. If a cloth bag is made for daily use, the picture should be simple, strong and easy to remember.
Local elements can make zodiac products more special. In Guangxi, designers may add mountains, rivers, bronze drum patterns or festival colors. These elements help visitors connect zodiac stories with a real place. However, design should stay respectful. A product should not make fun of a cultural symbol or change its meaning carelessly. When young workers combine creativity with respect, they can make traditional culture easier to understand and more suitable for modern life.
31. What are zodiac-themed products called in Paragraph 1?
A. Tools for tests.
B. Small carriers of cultural meaning.
C. Signs for traffic.
D. Rules for factories.
32. What should designers understand first?
A. The symbolic meaning.
B. The weather report.
C. The bus price.
D. The visitor's address.
33. What does the underlined word “elements” mean?
A. 错误
B. 价格
C. 元素
D. 题目
34. Which local element is mentioned in the passage?
A. Snow houses.
B. Sea ice.
C. Desert roads.
D. Bronze drum patterns.
35. What is the best title for the passage?
A. How to Ask About Age
B. Zodiac Products with Creativity and Respect
C. A Long Trip to a Factory
D. The Fastest Animal in a Race
【答案】31. B 32. A 33. C 34. D 35. B
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,介绍生肖主题产品的文化价值、设计原则和广西地方元素的融入,考查细节理解、词义猜测和最佳标题判断。

【详解】32.细节理解题。根据第二段“Designers need to understand the symbolic meaning first”可知,设计者应先理解象征意义。
【详解】33.词义猜测题。前文列举mountains, rivers, bronze drum patterns等,说明elements指“元素”。
【详解】34.细节理解题。根据第三段“bronze drum patterns”可知,文中提到铜鼓纹样。
