One day, the school held a Taste Talk for Grade One students. Each student needed to introduce one dish and explain its flavor. The activity was part of their spoken English practice.
Miao Lin chose her mother's tomato fish soup. At home, she watched her mother cook it again. The soup tasted sour and sweet, and the fish was soft. Her mother said, “Do not only remember the ingredients. Think about why people like it.” Miao Lin wrote notes about the fresh tomatoes, the light soup and the warm family dinner behind the dish.
On the activity day, she stood beside her dish and spoke slowly. At first, her hands shook. Then she saw her classmates smiling and asking questions politely. Restaurant Apps and Wise Dining Choices
Many people use restaurant apps before eating out. An app can show distance, prices, photos, comments and star ratings in a few seconds. This information is useful, but a wise customer should not let one number decide the whole meal. A high rating may come from good taste, yet it may not tell whether the restaurant is quiet enough for a family talk or suitable for a business dinner. Students should learn to read such information with clear purposes.
First, read comments carefully. Some comments talk about food quality, while others describe service or waiting time. If many customers mention fresh vegetables, clean tables and polite waiters, the restaurant may offer a better dining experience. Second, compare prices with real needs. A meal is reasonable when the food, service and environment match the money customers pay, not when the price is simply the lowest on the screen.
Third, think about the people who will eat with you. Older family members may prefer mild food; classmates may care about distance and cost; business guests may need a quiet room where people can talk without shouting over loud music. When students learn to read app information in this way, they are practising more than food choice. They are learning to consider others, communicate clearly and make responsible decisions in daily life. This habit can also help them in future service jobs, where understanding customers is as important as providing food.
31. What can restaurant apps show according to the passage?
A. Only the cook's family name.
B. Distance, prices, photos, comments and ratings.
C. Every customer's private address.
D. Answers to all school tests.
32. Why should customers not let one number decide the whole meal?
A. A rating may not show all dining needs.
B. Apps never show food photos.
C. Restaurants have no prices.
D. Customers cannot read comments.
33. What does the underlined word “reasonable” mean in Paragraph 2?
A. 拥挤的
B. 合理的
C. 苦涩的
D. 私人的
34. What may business guests need?
A. A noisy music room.
B. The cheapest snack only.
C. A place without tables.
D. A quiet room for talking.
35. What is the purpose of the passage?
A. To explain how to use app information wisely when choosing restaurants.
B. To ask students to delete every restaurant app.
C. To prove star ratings are always wrong.
D. To teach people to cook all dishes at home.
31. B 32. A 33. B 34. D 35. A
根据第一段“show distance, prices, photos, comments and star ratings”可知,应用可以显示距离、价格、照片、评论和评分。
根据第三段“business guests may need a quiet room”可知,商务客人可能需要安静房间。

Miao Lin chose her mother's tomato fish soup. At home, she watched her mother cook it again. The soup tasted sour and sweet, and the fish was soft. Her mother said, “Do not only remember the ingredients. Think about why people like it.” Miao Lin wrote notes about the fresh tomatoes, the light soup and the warm family dinner behind the dish.
