一、新课标理念体现

本单元属于“人与自然”主题范畴，“环境保护”主题群，涉及“人与自然相互依存，绿色生活的理念和行为”子主题。单元围绕Big Question“Why should we take care of the Earth?”展开，引导学生认识自然资源的重要性，理解环境污染的危害，探讨保护地球的具体行动。单元从Get ready的环境问题词汇输入，到Explore的自然资源说明文阅读，再到Communicate的保护行动讨论与写作，最后到Extend的果汁纸盒回收旅程日记阅读，形成了从输入到输出的完整学习链条，充分体现了英语学习活动观中“在体验中学习、在实践中运用、在迁移中创新”的理念，同时融入了对人与自然和谐共生的责任感培养。

三、单元内容分析

本单元以Big Question“Why should we take care of the Earth?”为统领，围绕环境保护与自然资源这一主题展开，内容从环保词汇输入到说明文阅读，再到行动讨论与写作，层层递进。

Get ready板块通过Think问题“What problems does the Earth have and how can we help it?”激活学生对环境问题的已有认知，借助Listen and say呈现环保词汇：smoke, dirty, rubbish, recycle, reduce。Complete the poster以环保海报为情境，引导学生填写六条环保行动（Turn off lights / Walk more / Plant trees on our land / Put rubbish in the bin / Recycle water bottles / Reduce the use of plastic bags），将环保行动用语融入真实生活语境。通过C Read and write阅读“Rules in parks”短文，训练阅读理解策略（区分main idea和details），D Circle these words预览hurt和factories，E Answer the question before you read“What do you know about natural resources?”引导学生思考自然资源，为Explore的说明文阅读做好认知准备。

Explore板块是本单元的核心，以自然资源说明文为主题阅读材料。文章采用“总—分—分”三段结构：开头提出自然资源概念（The Earth gives us important things. We call these things natural resources），第一部分“Why we need natural resources”阐述生物对清洁空气、水和土地的需求以及木材的用途，第二部分“How we hurt our natural resources”阐述汽车和工厂排放的烟尘、垃圾对空气、土地和水的污染，第三部分“How we should take care of our natural resources”提出三条行动建议（Use things longer / Reduce / Recycle）。课后活动A Read and write完成词汇练习（hurt / factories / sick），B Read and write完成三栏表梳理main idea和details，Read again and talk讨论保护行动。Grammar in use通过Listen and chant“The Earth”感知should/shouldn’t，Learn总结核心句型“We should recycle things / We should not hurt our natural resources / should not → shouldn’t”，Choose and say操练should/shouldn’t的运用。

Communicate板块从听、说、写三个维度训练语言输出。Think问题“How can we help the river?”引入河流保护，阅读Liu Xin的“The river near my home”了解具体行动，Think and talk用Dos and Don’ts表格讨论日常环保行为（We should... We shouldn’t...），Think and write写一份保护地球倡议书“Let’s take care of the Earth”，提供写作框架（The Earth is important... It gives us... It is sick now. We should... We shouldn’t... Let’s all make the Earth a better place）。

Extend板块阅读“A juice carton’s journey”日记体故事，以果汁纸盒的第一人称视角讲述从超市到笔记本的回收旅程，生动展现了recycling的过程和意义。Read and order排序五个关键事件（超市→女孩带去野餐→遗弃在草地上被风吹入湖中→男子捞起放入船中→回收变成笔记本），Think问题“How does recycling things help the Earth?”深化思考，Think more about the Big Question归纳“The Earth gives us natural resources / The natural resources on the Earth are limited / There are different ways to help the Earth / We should recycle things”。

四、单元教学目标

知识目标：能听说认读单元核心词汇（smoke, dirty, rubbish, recycle, reduce, natural resources, call, wood, land, why, clean, hurt, factory, near, those, turn off等）；能理解并正确运用should/shouldn’t描述环保行为，包括“We should recycle things / We should not hurt our natural resources / We shouldn’t cut down trees”等句型；能读懂自然资源说明文和果汁纸盒回收日记，提取关键信息。

技能目标：能听懂Listen and say的环保词汇，完成Complete the poster和Read and write活动；能用should/shouldn’t讨论日常环保行为（We should turn off lights / We shouldn’t leave the lights on）；能写一份简单的保护地球倡议书（Let’s take care of the Earth）。
