Mothers and fathers both play vital roles in a
child's life, but their approaches to parenting can
be very different. These differences are partly in-
fluenced by biology,specifically hormones(
蒙)like oxytocin-often called the“love hor-
mone",which shape their positive behaviors as
parents.
Research shows that oxytocin affects moth-
ers and fathers in unique ways, leading them to
take on balancing roles in raising children.Oxy-
tocin is paramount when it comes to bonding. It
is released during moments of closeness, like
hugging,breastfeeding,or even playing.
In mothers, oxytocin is associated with nur-
turing(养育)behavior.This hormone increases
when a mother holds or comforts her child,mak-
ing her more likely to focus on caregiving and
providing psychological support.For example,
when a baby cries,a mother might automatically
lift them up,hold them close and attempt to calm
them down.
On the other hand, studies have shown that
when fathers spend time with their children,
their oxytocin levels also rise.However,instead
of becoming more nurturing, they tend to become
more playful and energetic.A father might be
more likely to play a game, tell jokes,or encour-
age his child to try new things. This playfulness
can help children develop confidence,problem-
solving skills and independence.
Interestingly,both roles are equally impor-
tant for a child's development.Mothers often
provide a safe space where children feel secure
and understood,while fathers encourage explora-
tion and hardiness. These differences don't mean
that all mothers or fathers act the same way,but
that they do show how biological factors can in-
fluence parenting styles.Having different styles
of parenting can also help children see the world
in a different light. When kids experience both
nurturing and playful behaviors, they learn how
to adapt to different situations.
Overall,the balance between nurturing and
playfulness helps children grow into well-rounded
individuals, ready to face the world with confi-
dence.

作为父母的积极行为。)”以及第二段“when it
comes to bonding. It is released during mo-
ments of closeness(说到亲密关系。它在亲密
的时刻被释放)”可知,像催产素这种常被称为
“爱之荷尔蒙”的激素,它塑造了父母的正向行

My wife always wanted a Vizsla,so when
we got the house, the garden and everything sor-
ted,we did some research and found a lovely
breeder(饲养员)based in Scotland.He was in
charge of everything,so a few months go by and
the next thing I know,we've got a puppy!
I've grown up with animals all my life, and
I'm so glad I have.I love the fact that I was nev-
er afraid of any animals.Although you do obvi-
ously have to be careful when introducing chil-
dren to a dog they don't know,because you don't
know how it's going to behave,it always saddens
me when I see children scared when they walk
past Pedro.I think it's great for kids to learn
how to look after an animal.
And obviously for us,as a family,it's bril-
liant because we take Pedro for so many walks.
It's a bit of a family bonding experience getting
out in the fresh air;taking Pedro for a walk mul-
tiple times a day is just really lovely.Meanwhile,
the most rewarding,I think,is just seeing how
amazing he is with the kids.He is so calm,so
protective,so loving, and we are his world.
I think the most challenging aspects with Pe-
dro were when he was a puppy(小狗).He was
pretty hard work.He was never aggressive, but
he was quite bitey as puppies are, constantly pul-
ling out your clothes and putting holes in them,
which is very annoying. He chewed the furniture-my

sofas are barely standing up;their wooden legs
are almost in pieces.Obviously, the dog training
in the house was quite stressful and his jumping
at strangers in the park and running off was al-
ways quite scary.
As a new puppy owner, you're overloaded
with advice from social media,magazines,other
dog owners and friends,so finding a source of in-
formation you trust is so important and can be a
real turning point.I know what it's like to be
bombarded with conflicting information,so I
would have really welcomed Royal Canin's "One
in a Billion"platform as a new puppy owner.It's
a one-stop shop for new dog owners:a single
source of credible information that is so helpful in
navigating the early stages of your puppy's life.

The Low-carbon Lifestyle Around Me
“Low-carbon lifestyle'”is a concept aiming to
lower the carbon dioxide emission in living as
much as possible. At present, this lifestyle is be-
ing accepted in my family.
My father used to drive his car to and from
work, but things were different in the last Spring
Festival, during which he had enough time to ex-
perience the low-carbon lifestyle. We visited our
relatives and friends by bicycle during the festi-
val, which is good to our health and for the envi-
ronment.Besides,I remember to turn off the
light when I leave my room.I often use things
that can be recycled. For example,I use both
sides of the paper.
I think it's our duty to live a low-carbon life.
Let's put it into action as soon as possible.
